ganyan din ginagawa ko kasi na-trauma na ako yung dati namin laptop nung sinaksak ko sumabog kaya ngayon ganyan na ako mag-saksak para safe.

late na po hehe pero i suggest ipa check nyo po yun AC adapter nyo... ganyan po kasi nangyari sakin, each time i plug it into the socket, may spark. tapos pina check ko yun AC adapter, pinalitan, ayun ok naman.

Hello sisses, kinda related ang question ko dito. Sira na kasi ang battery ng laptop ko, as in minutes pa lang, paubos na agad. So ang nangyayari, lagi na lang siya nakaplug din. I read before in this thread na wag na lang alisin yung battery para di directly connected sa laptop system. Pero advice din nung iba kong friends na alisin na lang ang battery at baka masira ang battery sa loob. Nacoconfuse tuloy ako kung ano ang mas safe. What can you recommend for now na wala pa ko plan bumili ng new battery talaga? TIA!

hi Sis, pede mo i-run ang lappy mo nang wala yun battery, bale direct sha naka connect dun sa power source mo. yun nga lang, once na mawalan ng kuryente, wala na rin lahat ng ginagawa mo. we do that for users to test kung ano ba ang may problema, AC adapter or battery. its safe naman na walang battery while laptop is on. i do it sometimes

Thanks for the infos regarding battery and over charging.. I'm doing it pa naman.. salamat.. For the laptops yun pinaka top you can cover it ng plastic cover to prevent scrathes

ive got a problem too sa lappie hpdv6 battery, while charging lagi na lang merong paused i mean hindi tuloy tuloy ang pag charge nya laging may gap na ilang mins./ sec then saka nagcocontinue charging. any idea kung saan ang problem? aside sa battery? tia

Regarding the battery, nung nasa Bulacan pa kami hindi ko ginagamit ang battery ng laptop ko kasi consistent naman ang power dun. Pero nung lumipat kami medyo may ginagawa dito sa Meralco that causes a few minutes of outage. So para di masira ang laptop kinabit ko nalang ang battery sa extension na may switch. So pag malapit na maglowbat ioon ko nalang ang switch ng extension.

^just be careful pag hindi rin ginagamit ang battery mas madali masira, kasi natutuyo.  just use the battery correctly.  about overcharging, di na yan masyado uso with the new technology that automatically stops charging batteries pag full na. to prolong the use of battery here is a tip. Charge it while using it. then i assume after using it full charge sya, the next day, use the batteries and let it be until mag notify ang laptop na lowbat then charge ulit while using. that way, napupuno ang nauubos ang laman ng battery consistently.  there is normal wear and tear pero that's the most practical way to prolong the battery life.

You can safely use the laptop naman kahit di nakakabit yung battery, just use a UPS.  Mostly UPSs have a built in AVR na, but check na rin para sure.  That would protect the laptop from any fluctuations sa kuryente, and kahit magbrownout e it would still give you time to safely shut down your laptop.

this thread is really helpful. but ngayon torn ako between using battery or using AC direct plug with UPS. here are my concerns and understanding, please correct me if i am wrong.

PROS in using battery:
*pag nag brownout hindi bigla mamatay laptop, thus hindi masisira yung hardware
*protection sa power surges

CONS in using battery
*mabilis uminit laptop while in batteries - so may tendency din mabilis masira yung hardware
*pag nakacharge while using it, mas madali masisira batteri

PROS in using AC
*can use laptop in extended period without having to recharge
*hindi mas mainit yung laptop while in AC

CONS in using AC
*pag nagbrownout, u will lose your current file
*may corrupt your files pag biglang shut down
*masisira din agad battery ng laptop kasi hindi nagagamit


question:
1. if i will use UPS just for my laptop, ilang VA ang need ko? may nakita ako 600VA for just 1.3k, ok na ba yun?

2. if in case i decide to use the battery na lang, ano ang average life ng battery? and how much usually ang cost ng laptop battery?

^ In general, any computer (laptop or desktop) have a typical lifespan of about 4 years more or less. Although from time to time your unit would act up pero kasi after 4 years of usage mas magiging pronounced yung mga typical na topak ng machine mo that could lead to more serious problems later on. Sad to say but this is inevitable which is why it is wise to backup often as you need to. There is a workaround to somehow lengthen the life of your computer and that is through proper maintenance - there is an abundance of info out there on how to go about this so you can check those out too.

In your case it is better if you leave your batteries plugged in tapos naka saksak sa AC when in use  para in the event that your power goes out tuloy tuloy pa rin ang laptop mo so may chance ka pa to save or backup whichever stuff that you're working on . Kahit ako as much as possible I never let it run on batteries alone kasi mine can only last for about 2 hrs MAX and it does drain real quick. I've had mine since 2010 pa. Replacement batteries are affordable naman pero they are very hard to come by dito sa pinas lalo na kung specific model at original pa hanap mo, you may get lucky pero I doubt it kasi stock availability for your machine will depend on the make & model ng laptop mo at kung obsolete na rin. Avoid getting those Class A chinese knockoffs too, prone sila sa sira.

Adding a UPS for your laptop is ok as protection against power surges pero for now, I suggest don't get one muna. Better invest on those external hard drives for the meantime kahit yung mura lang para may backup ka ng mga files mo.

Oh and one more thing, make sure you keep your laptop elevated para hindi kulob yung init sa ilalim or sides. The hotter your machine gets, the more crankier it becomes.

By the way, i bought my laptop last 2014 (acer brand). The battery is ok pa naman, it lasts 4hrs pag fully charged according dun sa indicator. I know sooner or later masisira din yung batt ko and maybe by then super luma na the model i have, so habang maaga, is it ok to buy spare batteri from acer na lang for future use (maybe after 2-3 yrs) ?

Baka kasi by then hindi na sila magmanufacture ng batteri for my model.

Also, is it ok if i use a home vaccuum to vaccuum yung keyboards and fan  ng laptop ko, for the dirt and dust.

I dont know how to open my laptop, so i will just vaccuum them from the outside.

Ok lang ba yan? Or baka mahigop yung hardware nya? (sorry my question is kinda stupid.. :| )

buti na lang nakita ko itong thread na ito, di ko kasi talaga alam paano ang battery care para sa laptop ko i end up na lang not using the battery so kahit pala di mo gamitin masisira so gagamitin ko na rin.
