gelei: converted house din ang kalinga day care center but i really like the relaxed set-up, less stressful than other daycare centers/preschools i've visited. the teachers and teacher aides have good relations with the kids and they give time to chatting with the parents. i appreciate that they give me updates on my kid almost everyday, good or bad.

pinasok ko na sa preschool ang anak ko.  enjoys naman siya.  kaso lang parang tamad mag-update ang teachers sa akin about her.  i bring her to school and pick her up.  pero usually walang kuwento ang teacher.  lately nagkuwento anak ko na nag sit in the corner daw siya.  sa akin okay lang naman kung may mali ang anak ko pero di ba dapat nasabi nila sa akin?  para may follow up din ako sa anak ko about it.

ano ba dapat ang expectation natin na parents sa isang preschool?  hirap kasi hindi pa diretso magkuwento anak ko.  okay lang ba na humingi ng regular updates?

yes mommy preschooler.. hingi ka updates sa mga teacher.. yung mga teachers naman ng anak ko automatic silang nagkukwento sa akin kung ano na ang ginagawa at achievements ng anak ko.

preschooler: i agree with shesam12. kung hindi ka ina-update ng teachers, ikaw na mismo ang magtanong. a simple "kumusta po si <name of child>?" would do.

dun sa kalinga, pag na-timeout o me significant na ginawa ang bata, may it be good or bad, naga-update agad sila sa parents o sa yaya.

share ko lang din, last week, naaksidente ang anak ko sa school. nagkabungguan sila ng isang klasmeyt nya. sinamahan at inasist ng head facilitator ng kalinga yung anak ko at ang tita nya sa ER ng infirmary to make sure that she's ok. she even drove them home herself kasi baka daw mahirapan sumakay ng taxi. i really appreciate that.

My eldest goes to Betty's Bellarmine School in Makati
Tuition is around 30-35k, it's a Traditional School and the Teacher-Student Ratio is 1:12

Depende rin kasi sa personality ng teacher, there are teachers na super makwento, there are some na madrama and there are some naman quiet lang.

Ako, what I do, I really approach the teachers and ask them how my kid is doing in school. At least kampante rin ako ano ba nagiging achievements, improvements and status ng anak ko pag nasa school.

are there good pre-schools in camanava area?  okay ba apples and oranges? they have a branch kasi in camanava area...

hi mga sis.  my daughter is turning 3 on january 2010.  my husband wants me to research as early as now kugn saan ok namin ipasok ang baby ko next year. 

but first things first, whats the difference between "nursery" and preschool?"  pareho lang ba sila? 

can someone give me insights anong age dapat mag start ang preschool?  tapos kelan ang kindergarten?

we live here in california garden square mandaluyong.  i drove around the area and couldnt find a nice school nearby.  so im thinking kahit makati, ok lang din for us, anyways, malapit lapit lang din yun. 

please recommend a nice school within makati or mandaluyong mga sis.  and if you could give me prices ng tuition, it would greatly help. hehe.

Hi mommy_cel! With my daughter, accepted age for nursery is 3 1/2 - 4. Pasok agad kasi yun daughter ko since January ang birthday niya, kaya every June she's a half year older. Preschool kasi for me comprised of Toddler, Nursery, Kinder1, Kinder2, Prep. Can't elaborate too much baka lalo kita malito e. Hehe!

mommy_cel, dami po san juan areas. mas malapit ka yata dun.

nursery, more on laro pa yan, playschool, parang adjustment and introduction of the concept of school to kids.

kinder, medyo may mga exams exams na, aral aral. ganun. preparation na yan for elementary. parang first stage ng prep.

pag 3 y/o nursery pa muna, pag 4 y/o to 5 kinder na.

Sis, anak ko nag aaral sa cambridge, yung toddler class nila nasa 65k ang tuition, nursery is around 70+k pa, then next nila is nursery 2. kasama na sa tuition yung snacks at mga field work.

Sis, which Cambridge branch yung kid mo?

for those whose children are studying in San Beda Alabang & those who plan to send their children there, i have a question...
saan pinakamaganda pag-aralin (parang toddler school or whatever) ang bata before sending them to San Beda Alabang to start big school?

My daughter attended Saturday Todller Classes before in Toddler's Unlimited in Alabang since she was 1.5 years old.  Ok na ok sya.  She had fun because their basic principle is learning through play.

Now, she is attending "regular" school (3X a week lang kasi ayaw ko magsawa) at Childstart International in Paseo.  We are very happy with the school as well.  They have an individualized teaching method for the academics so we are happy with it as my daughter develops at her own pace.  Medio mabilis kasi matuto anak ko and I dont think a traditional setting at this early stage would benefit her.  We plan to enroll her in my alma mater na big school next year..kinder 1 naman.

Sis how much was the tuition in Toddlers Unlimited?

Just checked the website of Cambridge, pero alang naka post about tuition fees... Can you help me with this..Cambridge Alabang, magkano ba ang tuition nila for pre-school..? TIA.

^ Toddlers a few years back was about 60up for 3x/week and 95up for 5 days a week. I also highly recommend Toddlers Unlimited esp for those who are looking for a progressive school and esp play school for younger kids. My son went there

@ maria fides: my daughter is 21month old na. Im planning to enrol her when she turns 2yo. My choices are: Gymboree, Kindermusik, Cambridge, Toddlers Unlimited & The Little Apprentice. They are all located in Alabang.

@ chili: how long was the class? Is it 60k for the whole year?

sorry for my ignorance mga sis, but can somebody please differentiate the ff. methods of teaching:

1)progressive
2) traditional
3) montessory
4) Electic

at kung anu2 pang method of teaching meron nung time ko kasi, basta pasok lang ng pasok sa school, hehe. IMO, medyo parang iba na kasi ang panahon ngayon when it comes to choosing the right school, day care, etc. for our child. Minsan ala din sa price or sa name ng school.

im enrolling my son in toddler's unlimited next school year, he'll be 2.5 by then.  i think sa pups class sya.

tuition is 65k 3x a week. MWF 8-10:30 am

anyone enrolling their kids next year? we can be "mommy classmates"! hehe
