first story: when my mom was pregnant with me raw, sa basement sila ng daddy ko nagpagawa ng room (first floor kasi nila was for business/commercial purposes, so yung basement served as thier "home"). my dad, since from the city, did not believe on these things. my mom, since provinciana from Bulacan, knew this things. Pinagtawanan lang sya ng dad ko. first, concrete ang roof ng establishment namin (as in no roof, cementado talaga), so wala raw dila na pwede magpenetrate dun, and second, nasa basement nga ang room. until one night, they both heard kaluskos from the window (no blinds that time, no grills even, glass lang). They did not see anything, but was hearing a lot of things from the window area. My mom shouted "alis dyan!", and after a while, nawala. Few more nights went like that, until one night, with the kaluskos pa rin, my dad saw a huge unidentified with-wings creature na nandun mismo sa glass window. Sya mismo natakot! So from then on, naniwala na si dad ko sa tiktik.
second story: ako naman ang buntis. i moved in to fairview with my husband, and this is the part of fairview where gubat talaga nakapaligid. I mean, eco park was just over the fence, with tons of trees and all, with rare birds, with cold breeze, etcetera. In other words, mukhang province itong fairview area na ito, and gubat side nga. When i was pregnant, may mga naririnig rin ako sa roof namin, and yes, may mga malaking flying-creature palagi ako na naririnig na umaaligid. roof namin is the usual corrugated sheet, so rinig na rinig ko yung movements, and even pag tama ng wings(?) sa roof. di na ako nagtaka. gubat kasi paligid namin e.
