For Philippine passport holders, you still need a TRV. There is a separate visa regulations for Canada and US.

Hello Folks, (sorry if this is the wrong thread for my question but hopefully someone here has answers for me)

A Philippine passport holder will travel to US but will have a couple of hours layover to Vancouver. Is Canadian visa required for this situation? From this canadian website it shows for Philippines there isn't a need for TRV but I'm hearing otherwise. Anyone here has the most recent experience like this?

Here's the site:

No need  as you will not be leaving  the airside area of the airport anyway.

You can apply for a US tourist visa following simple steps. Download and fill the Visa Electronic Application Form (DS-160). Pay the required visa application fee. Last, visit the U.S. Embassy on the date of the interview. Ohh, when I had to travel to Canada cause of a job, I was passing over borders 2 times a week and I had to have a nexus card that helped me to save a lot of time because I was escaped by border controls. It doesn't take a lot of time to be made, and you can have it in some days from nexus-card.com if your documents are okay.
