CANADA-tourist visa related

Hi mga sis! Help naman kasi been backreading dito medyo wala ako mahanap sa similar sa case ko. Hehe.

My family is planning to visit Canada (tourist Visa) next year, maybe April. Dad, mom, my brother and I.

Dad:
- 60+ but still working and hindi kasi mukhang senior na! Haha.
- I think sa work niya, wala na siyang tax tax kasi nga sabi dapat retired na.
- He works as a trainer in a maritime company. I think sweldo niya is in USD.

Mom:
- Plain housewife
- Registered nurse but more than 10 years not practicing na

Me:
- Eldest, 21 y/o
- Registered nurse din, no work yet, but I'm enrolled in graduate school right now 1st sem ko pa lang. So probably by that time, student pa din ako.

Brother:
- 16 y/o (yata haha)
- Graduating March 2011 ng high school

We have relatives in Canada. Tita and 2 cousins (her children) may immigrant status doon ngayon in Calgary for a year na. My tita and isang cousin, nandito ngayon sa PH parang pabalik balik lang. They decided na dito muna mag-aral 'yung isa kong cousin. 'Yun isa kong pinsan is in Calgary right now nag-aaral. Senior HS yata. She's living with another cousin of mine (first din). I think pa-citizen na 'yung status niya this year.

Concerns:
- Since wala pa akong work, but according sa nabasa ko sa website I'm still financially dependent pala dahil I'm below 22 y/o and student pa din ako, kailangan ko ba magpresent ng financial documents din? Takot ako baka maiwan ako huhu.
- My dad is senior citizen na, but still working, maapektuhan ba 'yung decision nila? May nabasa kasi ako dito na 60+ na din but  nadeny. Financially, I think kaya naman kasi they wouldn't decide na magpunta doon if hindi naman pala kaya. I mean we have to prepare for my brother's tuition for college but still pupunta pa din daw dun.
- So basically my dad's age, work, and 'yung financial capacity KO 'yung medyo tagilid dito :p

IMHO ....eto ang dapat tutukan:

1) since sa inyong 4 si dad mo lang ang working - then who's going to shoulder all trip expenses para sa inyong 4 - kung sino man, then you have to show proof of funds na pagkukuhaan ng gagastusin nyo.

2) then basic document to present for all of you is the "tie" that would make you comeback sa pinas, meaning documents na mag prove na hindi kayo mag TNT...example would be yung mga assets nyo dito sa pilipinas, or kung may business kayo dito, may trabaho, naka enroll sa school...etc

As for the funds, no problem naman siguro. They wouldn't dare naman siguro to go there na walang enough money on hand So siguro, meron haha! Anyway, how much is needed ba per head? Average let's say we're gonna stay there 2 weeks to a month? Wala kasi ako mahanap online. Nakita ko lang 'yung sa student visa

Sa ties naman, ang "business" namin is apartment for rent and one commercial space for rent. So sa renting kami. We own them My brother is still in school but graduate na siya by March 2011 ng High School but dito pa din siya mag-college. I'm on my 1st year in graduate school this year so hindi pa ako graduate by that time, and maybe may work na din ako siguro nun. Weeee! Sana positive ang application namin. My dad din pala has US Visa daw. I don't know if valid pa din but kasi seaman siya before so required ata sila nun. That was years ago pa. Sana makatulong din.

I think they're more particular nga sa "ties" dito sa Philippines. Thanks sis! Update ko kayo dito

P.S. Would it be possible if we're gonna apply as a family pero kunwari madeny ako? Or my mom? Hahaha. Kasi my mom has no work tapos properties are named ata under my dad. Not sure.

if no problem naman sa funds, eh di ok...tsaka kasama naman talaga sa requirements na mag pa-pass kayo ng original documents for funds...like original passbook, statement of accounts...pati mga assets nyo na minention mo - you need to give original documents.

wala rin akong nabasa na how much talaga ang required or needed money per head, pero sa questionnaire may portion dun na "Funds available for my stay"

re family application - then some would be denied? yes. kasi my officemate, yung mom nya and 1 anak nag apply together as family....approved ang mom pero ang anak hindi.

sis, if I were you submit na agad and apply...para malaman mo na agad ...sa mommy ko application nya on the 9th working day after namin magsubmit na received na agad ang visa, kami naman ni hubby (hiniwalay ko kasi application namin ng hubby ko sa mom ko) - sa amin on the 11th working day namin na receive visa namin

^ Another question sis will they look for my financial docs like bank accounts even though financially dependent pa ako? I'm scared no enough funds ako if ever.

Baka January pa kami mag-apply or before the year ends kasi April 2012 pa naman 'yung target date namin. Sana maganda weather doon by that time

^ since all documents are submitted sa embassy and no interviews, so no idea ako ano ba ang mga useful na documents sa mga sinubmit ko (lucky lang na wala namang hiningi pang iba pa)

 sis if you say naman na  your DAD will shoulder all the expenses ,dapat sya ang magpakita ng mga financial documents na will prove na kaya nya gastusan ang trips nyo... maybe a letter from your dad telling na sya nga ang mag shoulder ng expenses might add help.

kasi like yung sa Mommy ko, wala syang history of travel, no bank account in her name, no properties in her name, so yung sister ko from canada nagpadala sya ng letter (addressed to the embassy) stating na she will shoulder all related expenses of my mom for her trip - so ang sister ko ang nag provide ng mga bank certificates, certificate of employment & compensation and her Canadian citizen ID - sya ang nagbigay ng proof of funds

Just sharing:

My mother, 75 years old, unemployed, no savings account, no property in her name, no overseas travel (so walang tatak ang passport kahit ano,) applied for tourist visa single entry, supporting documents submitted: letter of invitation from my sister in canada (canadian citizen na sya), sa letter na ka state lang na she is inviting our mom to go there to visit her apo, and mag tour duon, naka state din sa letter na sagot ng sister ko lahat ng expenses nya (ordinary letter only, NOT notarized),  photocopy of her id (proof of her citizenship), certificate of employment and compensation nya , and bank certificate ng deposit nya sa bank nya.

My mother got her visa , no interviews, no medical, and the process only took 9 working days (documents picked up june 6, and we received the visa june 17)

All right! Thanks sis! Very helpful ng mga nabigay mong info Since may relatives kami dun, would it be helpful if magbigay kami ng letter of invitation from them? Saka would it be possible if they are living in Calgary pero ang destination namin is in Vancouver? Would they investigate our whereabouts after arrival sa Vancouver?

sis, nandun sa forms asking if sino ang pupuntahan mo while in canada, need to specify address nila sa canada. Ok lang naman siguro to write their names - kahit hindi nyo sila pupuntahan.

BUT IMHO, if hindi naman sila magbibigay ng financial support sa inyo (might as well , huwag na lang sila banggitin, since di nyo naman sila talaga pupuntahan , parang wala namang maitutulong - kung hindi naman talaga kayo sa kanila magpunta or mag stay.

think about it na lang...kasi the more honest yung application mo - mas less problems and worries, di ba?

hi mga sis, make sure na pag nagapply kayo nga canadian visa matagal pa ang expiry ng passport nyo. sinusunod kasi nila ang validity ng visa sa expiry ng passport. lalo kung multiple entry ang visa application nyo, ang expiry na nilalagay nila is six months prior to your passport's expiry. unlike ng us visa na pwede ka bigyan ng 10 years without considering the validity of your passport, ang canadian visa iba.

It's either kasi magpunta kami sa Calgary and Winnipeg (which is magastos talaga) or we'll all meet na lang sa Vancouver. If that's the case (latter), invitation pa ba 'yun? We will visit them but not in Calgary or Winnipeg nga lang.

Anyway, spent the whole day planning our itinerary, grabe! Haha! Enjoy naman. I was thinking would it help if we submit our "planned detailed itinerary" with the application with estimated expenses per day? Since we couldn't provide a return ticket agad kahit na not required, baka makatulong

And regarding the docs, if we are planning to apply before the year ends, so my brother and I will submit our current registration form but our travel dates we'll be April 2012 eh bakasyon na. Ok lang 'yun?

And lastly, magsulat din kami ng letter of intent na kaya kami magbabakasyon kasi wedding anniversary ng parents ko (makikita naman nila sa marriage chorva), visit relatives, and we need to be back agad kasi enrollment na for the next school year. And maybe my brother needs to fix his papers and/or take entrance exams kasi he's entering college na by that time. Do you think it would help?

^Hi, ask ko Lang why you mentioned, "Since we couldn't provide a return ticket agad kahit na not required...". You're applying for a tourist visa, right? My memory might be rusty but as far as I remember, pag tourist visas, you're required to purchase round trip tickets. Actually here pa Lang in MNL, the immig officers will be looking for it na & can offload you from the flight if you don't present a return ticket on a tourist visa or an onward ticket... Maybe you mean open dated return ticket?

^ Upon application sis  Kasi nakalagay dun sa checklist "photocopy of return ticket, if applicable (?)" I'm not sure if it's if applicable, basta may if. Hehe. So anyway, confusing ata 'yung nasabi ko. Hehe.

yap...I agree with theflygirl pag bili mo ng tickets dapat roundtrip na.

to some of your questions: eto ang opinions ko:
- i did not submit any flight tickets when i applied for visa
- i don't think its necessary to give them detailed IT and expenses
- a document with your proof of fund ang needed talaga
- tsaka documents to prove that you will come back (ties in the philippines)

- about the invitations from relatives - it's ok naman to get and submit to embassy , invitation lang naman yun eh.

But ako kasi sa questionnaire na i-list down ang mga persons & their address na mga pupuntahan sa canada i placed my sister and family and another one is my Aunt and Family - pero I only provided one letter of invitation coming from my sister, sa Aunt ko, hindi na ako nag provide.

^^I guess they just mean in case you purchased tickets already prior to applying for a visa (some people do that esp because of promos, I really don't recommend it, though), to show a copy...

But when I applied for a visa last April, I just submitted my hubby's COE, bank docs, my kids' certificate of enrollment and passports. Di pa ko nagpaissue ng ticket muna..actually transit visa yung kinuha ko but sabi kasi sa hotline same rqmts ng temporary visit visa...so yun...pero super bilis kasi in a few days we got our visas na. USA kasi final destination namin nun kaso via Vancouver. I also submitted an invitation letter from my aunt in the US Air Force to prove na transiting lang kami ng YVR and final dest namin was Las Vegas. Super OC ako sa docs kaya kahit di hinihingi binigay ko na hehe

sis i mean yung future travel ko. Magaaply kami ngaun Feb hopefully May kami pupunta canada kung magkakaroon ng visa. I have 2 eticket on august and sept 2 asian country.

Ah ok hehe. yup i think mabuti maisama mo siya sa requirements kasi may additional proof na talagang babalik ka sa Pinas since more on sa documents na talaga nagbe-base ang Canadian embassy. Wala na kasing appearance
