hi sis bhabes_angel. i also have this, got it last year. mine is mild lang but the pain was terrible, yung sa akin kasi located sa lower back, sa may lumbar.

i had physical therapy for 2 weeks sa east avenue medical center, P 250 per session. they taught me yung exercises para maging aware ako on proper posture when sitting, bending, etc. it did helped a lot to ease the pain. after nung therapy ko, i continued yung ibang exercises at home. actually bihira na sumakit ngayon. the doctor also recommended me to take up calcium tablets/supplements daily.

at work, stand and walk once in a while. take note din on your posture esp while sitting.

hope this helps.

I was diagnosed with idiopathic dextroscoliosis when I was 13 years old (I'm 25 now), no back pains for me. The only thing prominent is my weird posture, i put my bag on my right shoulder pero when you look at me, parang mas may weight sa left shoulder, so in short tabingi shoulders ko. my right shoulder blade is also more prominent than the left. X-ray showed I already have a 42-degree dextroscoliosis. I was 13 then and my orthopedic MD told me that I needed surgery. Nagpa-2nd opinion pa ako and he told me the same thing. So I had a Harrington Rod (long stainless steel metal with screws, pins and wires) attached to my spine, I was 13 then. I'm now 25 and bearing my beautiful 12-inch scar, no keloids for me. Medyo masakit lang likod ko pag malamig.

I've been suffering from scoliosis since i was highschool. yung sakin "pa-S" yung curve I just don't know kung ilang degrees na yung sa akin since ilang yrs na ko di nagpapa checkup. and naka-ilang sessions lang ako ng PT nung highschool ako(my godbrother whose a PT do it for 100 bucks lang per session )..
sa katagalan tinamad na at nasawalangbahala na lang. been suffering din from back pains for yrs now pero tolerable naman. kaso now I'm already 20 yrs old. I'm thinking kung pwede pa kaya ma-correct yung scolio ko pag nagpabrace ako? kase may kakilala kami 13 yrs old pa lang pinagbre-brace na siya ng doctor niya para ma-correct pa daw. so sa age ko pwede pa kaya ma-correct ito pag nagbraces? i mean tumuwid yung spinal cord ko or malessen yung curve kahit papano at di na lumala pa?

and sa mga may scolio po na nagbuntis na? okay lang po ba maglabor?or dapat CS lang di ba mas lalala pag nag-labor?TIA.. :)

help po sana  :(
:) kase di ko po talaga sure kung magpabrace ako  :-X di pa kase ako nakakita ng may brace?sabi nila may bakal daw yun. na-bother ako kase baka maapektuhan yung araw-araw kong gawain dahil sa brace?sabi nila mainit din daw yun. and correct me if i'm wrong di ba di din ako pwede magfit na damit kase parang nakapatong lang siya sa likod  so uumbok siya pag nakadamit ako?   :'( please enlighten me. di ko na lam pero kung macure naman or ma-stop yung tuluyan pag curve ng spinal ko e di mag-brace na ko kahit ano pa man. and ilang years ba pwede isuot yung brace?hay....  :-[

eto din ang sakit ko...  natatakot ako, kasi feeling ko ang expensive niya.  sabi ng doctor ko i have to undergo physical therapy, bawal magbuhat especially mabibigat, have to watch what i eat, posture ko.  pati firmness ng mattress important.   :-\

My doctor discovered my scoliosis last year. At that time 30 degrees ang curvature ng spine ko (upper back--is that still mild?). Wala naman siyang nirekomenda na therapy but told me to take Arcoxia for the pain and to get up from my seat every hour and stretch my back. Management na siguro yon. I don't take Arcoxia anymore since feeling ko nagkaroon ako ng masamang reaction doon, so when my back hurts I simply rest it. I try to avoid lifting heavy things; when I have to I try to make sure the weight is distributed evenly on my back and shoulders and that I lift with both hands. ;D

Reading your responses has made me want to have another checkup and go for therapy if needed. I will still go for it.

i have 23 degrees curvature, and i only found out early 2008... i also thought it was just plain back pains, but because my mom died of bone cancer, i decided to consult an ortho if i needed tests for my back pains... i went there in fear of having my mom's cancer, but the doctor even asked me if nobody told me about my spine misalignment... my mom always made us conscious of our posture, and often, mag-aaway kami nun kasi she calls me kuba... unfortunately, i only found out na ganun pala ang back ko when my mom was gone...

i used to wear stilletos, pero tumindi yung sakit ng back ko... solution: wear wedges... i need the height kasi, so lahat ng shoes ko wedged, or if not, yung medyo makapal ang heels... sa car naman, i adjust the seat a few times, lalo na pag long driving... whenever naglalambing yung son ko ng pabuhat, i do it pero i make sure nakaupo ako...

people with dextroscoliosis also need to watch their weight. my back hurts everytime i gain a few pounds. my doctor also told me it's better to be underweight because of my condition.

Skechers just came up with a new type of shoe called Shape-ups. It's supposed to improve posture, so this might be good for those suffering from scoliosis. I don't have a pair yet but I'm getting one soon. Feedbacks from those who have this are appreciated.

I have dextroscoliosis also and was diagnosed when I was 21.  The doctor said it is mild lang naman about 9 degrees.  But I'm not sure now.  I don't feel any discomfort.  But prolonged walking hurts my back and also if I eat too much. :P The pain usually goes away by application of liniments or chili plaster.  I don't take pain-reliever pills.

^sis where can i buy the chili plaster you mentioned?

i thinkl I have one, pero I will still need to consult a doctor.. frequent na yung back ache (upper right) and I noticed na mas obvious yung bones sa side na yun.. i'm not sure if this is also the reason kung baket mas malaki yung boobs ko sa right side than the left side.  may connection kaya yun?
