Hi, questions lang regarding tinghun

Our wedding is on Novemeber and our tinghun is on June. In Laws told me to buy the dress one size bigger daw. Dapat ba talaga??

Why will you give shoes to your future mother in law pala? what's the purpose of that?

Thanks.

Hi girls, Denise of Kanchiu Etc. might not be available on my tinghun date.  :'(

Know anyone who offer the same service (one stop shop) like Kanchiu etc.? Help!  :-[

TIA

Hi, for tinghun needs or consultation, you may want to check out TINGHUN MANILA. They also have a shop in Ongpin. Here is their FB Page. https://www.facebook.com/tinghunmanilaph/

If you are having it at edsa shang, aunt nancy will assist you all the way.  I actually had a very bad experience at kanchiu.  The sister of denise is very disrespectful towards my dad, and some of the items they were selling were overpriced, when you can buy the same thing not so far away.  Ikot kayo and buy the online kanchiu book for guidance.

Finally finished reading the whole thread! Even if I think I wont have a ting hun, binasa ko pa din. Happy for all of you girls!

Questions lang... Any other wedding coords for Chinese weddings? And feedbacks for Vangie Go, Cristine Ong Te & Elisa Sia Lim? We talked with a rep from Rita Neri, she told us na 90% of weddings they arranged are Chinese. My family is not so traditional na kasi. Most of my achis had contemporary weddings except for one & that was way way back. My h2b kasi will be the 1st one to marry in their family & most of the elderly who could guide us is in the US. So clueless talaga kami. TIA!

Vangie Go as in Wedding Treasures?  One of the sisters is kinda impatient with brides who ask questions a lot.

Elisa Lim is still fairly new.  Usually the wedding host would be able to give better suggestions.  Kutchie from Getting Married is not bad, even her second team is very efficient.

^ oh. Red flag yan re: wedding treasures. 2 of my friends kasi got her before. Yet to ask them for feedbacks. But another friend said na hindi niya nagustuhan nung wedding ng sister in law niya. 2 negative comments na.

So you suggest we get a host first? We've short listed Michael Lim & Filbert & Shanda Uy. Michael Lim coz sabi ng friend ko who got married recently, siya yung best in terms of speaking Mandarin (zero Mandarin, minimal Fookien speaking skills lang ako) H2B's side & some from mine kasi very traditional, so Chinese speaking host is a must.

I've heard that Vangie Go has the tendency to be bossy and impatient with some clients. But that's her personality I guess. She can still deliver despite her personality. COTE's group is really good. I've seen her team work in a lot of weddings and it's obvious that they know what they are doing. I suggest you set a meeting with them so you can have a feel about them :)

For the host, I can recommend Jerome Go :)

COTE has good output. I've also seen Kutchie Z do chinese weddings. Id say you cant go wrong with either. Rita Neri is a lot more expensive than both of them but im not sure kung totoong puro chinese client sya kasi mga kilala ko di naman. My friend also recommends Jenny Lim. I think she and Kutchie worked together on Heart's wedding?

Thanks for the inputs! Will research on Jerome Go. I think I've attended a wedding he hosted na before, just didn't pay attention coz I've never thought I'll have a traditional Chinese wedding.

Is Jenny Lim also a wedding coord? Will start listing na your suggestions, girls! Thanks! Keep 'em coming!

Can you guys recommend a good emcee that can speak Mandarin fluently? And can you also give their estimated rates? Thanks!
Sa totoo lang I'd rather have an English speaking emcee pero I have relatives from China, nakakahiya naman na I invited them tapos hindi nila maiintindihan ang happenings.

Jerome Go is highly recommended, he is also very oc thats why he Lways make sure na everything is organized. Aside from hosting, he is also a tinghun coordinator as in he organizes tinghuns. He is my tinghun coordintor and will be having him as wedding emcee also :)

Are you a doctor?  Nag segue pa :)  Jerome Go is actually a psychiatrist if I remember right.  He was the host of my sis and it turned out quite well naman.  I also highly recommend Max Tiu, kung OC lang pag uusapan, ibang level siya.

That would be 3 negative comments already.  As a former bride, and I'm sure the brides-to-be will also admit na, minsan hindi natin mapigilan na maging makulit konti especially we are relying on the expertise of these people.  I had a bad experience with Eugene Oda, not Vangie, until now masakit parin sa loob how she handled my concern. She was very disrespectful to be honest.  Go with coordinators with good bedside manners, this is your wedding, I'm not saying maging bridezilla ka, pero dapat maayos na pakikitungo yan.

^Uh oh. Not for us na nga talaga. Feeling ko magiging makulit kami coz clueless talaga kami. Thanks for that.

Aha! Sabi ko na nga ba napanuod ko na si Jerome Go. A friend of mine got him for her wedding. Yun lang naalala ko. Can't remember sa other weddings na napuntahan ko. I remember liking him then. Will put him sa short list namin :)

Re Chinese wedding host. We will be getting Lizbeth Yap DY. She is one of the host sa chinatown tv. she was recommended by a friend. She hosts chinese new years sa ABS CBN. We invested on her (20K) because 90 percent of our guests are chinese.

I agree. Max Tiu is also a good option as host. He's super nice too :)

^uh oh. Mind sharing what happened? Para lang warning sa others when and if a supplier is out of bounds na.

Anyways, how's everyone's wedding preps going? Hope hindi kayo panic mode like I am hehe

I have a question for everyone. Ganun ba ka-accepted for Chinese weddings especially if Lauriat/ pan to if superrr late mag start yung reception? I can't remember attending a Chinese wedding (although few lang non-Chinese) na hindi late. As in 1 to 1 1/2 hr wait from what's written on the invite. Is it because only half or less lang nagpupunta ng ceremony? Meron ba kayong plan for this not to happen on your day?
