Using the husband's surname, will you or will you not?

I already changed my status and maiden name sa company like payroll, daily time record sa timekeeping to follow na yung company i.d. and bank account.next is yung mga govt ids like sss, philhealth,voter's id, passport na kailangan ng marriage contract from nso hay kaloka mag-change status and name.

Surname ni hubby definitely. Baka maconfuse ang mga bata kung iba ang apelyido ko. Para wala ng explain explain. Pareho ng mga apelyido namin.

Of course naman, no choice pinakasalan/ papakasalan nga natin ei hahaha iyon naman nakasanayan natin ..siyempre depende pa rin sa apelyido niya KUNG maganda bigkasin...😂😄😅

Yes, I want i-hyphen kasi gusto ko nasa name ko pa rin mother ko pero pinagiisipan ko mabuti. Super haba na kasi ng magiging name ko. 3 first name ko plus middle name surname plus hubby's surname. Eh ang haba pa ng surname namin ni hubby. Hahaha.. Full name ko nga hindi na kasiya sa mga government documents eh.

^yep sis. Ilang beses na ako nagkaproblema sa government documents ko kasi may mga nawawalang letters na kasi di na kasiya. Hehe.. Kaya isip isip talaga muna kung hyphen or hindi.

Can anyone enlighten me what is the diff between using the husband's surname outright and the one with the hyphen? Not sure which to do!

After we got married it was my choice not to use hubby's last name dito naman sa north america normal lang naman di gamitin last name ni hubby kahit panay nga ang pasaring nya bakit daw hindi pa ako nagpapalit sabi ko naman hassle lang ganun din yun. until one day I was signing up my son for a swimming lesson sabi ng anak ko how come we don't have the same last name? Dami din tanong pag nagtatravel kami ng dalawa lang ng anak ko. one time umuwi kami ng Pinas ang tanong ng immigration officer bakit daw magkaiba kami ng last name single mom daw ba ako? meron ba akong notarized letter from hubby allowing me to travel with my son so ayon I decided to take his last name I married him after all.

Good thing dito sa place ko hindi practice ang palitan ang surname or isunod sa hubby's surname.
Tatanungin lang nila or titingnan un fill-up form if your single or married.

Kaya no need na palitan ko mga ID's ko.

^hindi no choice na dapat magpalit surname.. choice mo yun sis.. its not mandatory sa Pilipinas

Isip isip muna ika nga walang forever and it will take you more headache magbalik sa maiden name hanggat hindi annulled or dead ang hubby, then you will forever use a surname you hated most..

Walang alam sa batas ang immigration lawyer na yan sis.. it is not mandatory.

when you got married, its your status change not your name.
so you may change your surname or not, depends on you.
at sakit pa sa ulo kapag naghiwalay kayo ng spouse mo.

Unfortunately, kahit ano explain mo about the law, they will follow their own memo or understanding about married names.

This is also why I changed surname, para wala na problem in identifying me as the spouse like in legal matters.

I will, but not just yet. All my legal documents are still under my maiden name. Including our visa. I'm thinking of finally changing my last name when we get our citizenship in 2017. I know my hubby has been waiting for this all his life. Haha!

I have decided na I will use my husband's surname hindi na ako magdash haba na masyado ng name ko pag ganun pero 2 na magiging middle initials ko. Maiden initial name and surname ko yun mangyayaring middle initial ko pati ng mga magiging anak namin.
