Yes, I'm now using my husband's surname after a year of marriage.

sis, i didn't encounter naman any problem with my auto loan with BPI. wala pa ako ID with my married name, i just provided them with copy of our marriage cert though. ako main borrower tas co-maker si hubby.

I don't feel like having my BF's last name someday. Filipino last name kasi 'yung akin and very unique. You don't hear it everywhere, that's why I like it.

He's last name is Marcelo, very common lol.  ;D

Saka I want to give an honor to my Father's name before I change it. :)

Hi sis, have you tried requesting na sa NSO? I got married in 2010, a little over a month after that I tried requesting from NSO's site (ecensus.com.ph).  Marriage cert was delivered less than a week.  It was ready by then and it was so easy, I did everything online :)

I was told though it would also depend on how early the church (or wherever you got married) would forward the marriage contract.

I will not be using my partner's last name when we get married. He is okay with it.

I've been married for 2 years na and so far, sa Facebook palang ako nag-hyphenate. All my other IDs and official documents bear my maiden name. This isn't because I don't want to change my last name. Actually I really like his last name kasi it's very unique dito sa Philippines (napagkakamalan laging first name nya). It's mainly because I don't know where to start. Ang dami ko na kasing IDs, records, etc. di ko alam kung pano ayusin lahat! O_O

I will. Pero dine-delay ko hehe.  Para kasing ang daming abalang mangyayari.
Parang your world will stop kasi habang prinoproseso wala kang magagamit na ID.
Pero nakakahiya din kasi sa in-laws.  Saka obligasyon mo un bilang wife.  So give in.

bagong kasal lang kami so hindi muna sa ngayon lalo na nasa ibang bansa kami at kinasal [textspeak!] kami noong nasa pinas kami nagbakasyon. madami pang proseso kaya matatagalan pa.

eversince I got married I used hyphenated surname. even sa email add ko from previous job hyphenated din. sa current job ko naman, HR records is hyphenated but email is yung married name.
mahaba kasi surname ni hubby, no problem naman kasi both our surnames were like from Spanish surnames  ;D

Hyphenated gagamitin ko. i dont want to fully drop my family name kase it will always be part of my identity. But then again my h2b will be part of my family na din so im taking his name as well. Besides, as shallow as it may sound, i love both our family names, it kinda sounds alike kaya i would totally dig my last name-his last name. Even sa kids namen gusto ko ganun.

I use both our last names. Admittedly my maiden last name opens more doors for me, so it's a little hard to let it go hehe.

buti may thread na ganito.
Pag mag asawa kayo tapos iinterviewhin kayo sa US embassy, okay lang ba na magkaiba ang last name nyong mag asawa? Pero may dala ka naman marriage certificate.

Yes its okay.  US laws pa, the land of the free. You have a choice to retain your maiden name just like here in the Philippines.

Based sa mga nabasa ko dito from fellow mrs., di naman required magpalit ng surname.
been married for 7 months and we're both based overseas so mas madaming hassle magpalit ng mga IDs. I dont even know where to start.
My passport is expiring one year from now, di ko alam kung ireretain ko ba maiden name ko or mag change na ko. Si hubby actually prefers na i retain my maiden name kasi sosyal pakinggan daw haha, unlike his surname na medyo di kagandahan haha!
Anyway, if i keep my maiden name ba tapos kunwari nagsasagot ako ng mga forms, ano ba ilalagay ko na last name?

^ that seems to create confusion sa local government units natin here sa Pinas sis. Like sa NBI. Apparently, not everyone knows na we are allowed to not adopt our husband's surname. Pahirapan sa pagrerenew sa ibang LGUs, nakakainis. sasabihin nila di daw pwede yun, blah blah.

Ako, in respect to him narin naman and to avoid any complications or long explanations I have to make in the future, I use his surname na. Lalo na I'm not in a field naman na very important ang maiden name. Lawyers, doctors, etc. :)

I changed my surname para wala hassle sa mga IDs, forms, etc.

At first, I wanted to hyphen my maiden surname then my husband's surname kaso ayaw ng mga government offices. Iba daw ang mandate sa kanila kahit na legally pwede yun.

Sa corporate office ko na lang nagagawa yung hyphen kasi baka sabihan ako ng "who U?" ng mga kawork ko.
