Hi! Naguumpisa pa lang ako mag-jump rope.  Been reading about it for the past few weeks before I saw this thread.

Some links that I found very helpful.

Also, kung ayaw niyo lumaki ng husto yung muscles sa legs niyo, always stretch before and after jumping.  :)

I bought a Nike speed rope which was on sale sa Marikina Riverbank Mall outlet store nila.  I wasn't able to check out the much cheaper version at Toby's, pero naghanap kasi ako ng adjustable jump rope e.

kakainis, di ko ma-sustain yung pagja-jumprope ko. pero kung feel ko, i target 500 skips a day. usually sa morning. wala kasi ako makitang mabigat na jumprope na may counter. medyo magaan kasi yung sa akin...

i was sick for a week because of jumping rope last year.. =(

we had an activity in school nun, sa PE namin, eh yung gagawin, dapat tumalon ko from a distance of about 250m ata using your both feet back and forth.. madali lang sana kung tig isa, eh yung dalawa, nakakawala ng energy..

eh pinilit ko talaga siya tapusin.. kinagabihan, nagkatrangkaso na ako.. =(

^ baka you lack stretching kasi... dapat may warm-up and cool down pa rin kahit na jump rope lang ang ginagawa. madalas kasi makalimutan...

hope you are ok na...

i do this everyday (or at least most days of the week). yung regualr jump rope lang gamit ko. nothing fancy. i normally do this while watching tv. 3 mins per round then 30 secs breaks in between. average time ko siguro daily is 30mins. the trick is to make low but quick jumps para di mabilis mapagod. ;)

it's hard at first siyempre pero masasanay din. i suggest do it paunti unti. then increase as you go along.

^i haven't lost weight kasi i'm also gaining muscle mass. i do boxing din kasi. i started doing jump rope mainly to increase cardio. i felt kasi that i'm developing more muscle faster than i'm losing fat so gusto ko lang mabalance. i'd say it works naman. i get comments na parang pumayat daw ako.

^ako sa sala lang namin. i clear the area in front of our tv. tapos i watch my usual tv shows. hehe. i think it helps na nanonood ako ng tv kasi naaaliw ako while doing it. so hindi ko naiisip na mahirap.
