Majority would be using divorce correctly, I think, given the values we have as Filipinos.  Compare na lang those women who badly need to be freed from their marriage (battered wives, unhappy marriage despite of working it out by both parties, etc) to those who want divorce for the sake na ayaw na or super babaw ng reasons.  Mas marami pa rin siguro ang nauna.

I will advocate its legality for practical purposes. Sanctity of marriage should be redefined as a marriage "worth keeping for." If the marriage is not worth keeping for, then there's no sanctity at all.

i am not in favor of divorce.
that is why we have to think carefully 100th times before deciding to settle down, get married and have kids.
do not take the sacrament of marriage if not sure that you can stick with your partner for the rest of your life
no matter what happen good or worst.

But we are not sure what's gonna happen in the future? That is why we have FAITH!

God bless us all!

^How I totally wish na advisable yan to all people especially to all Filipinos. Marami talagang iba iba ang story kung bakit up to the point it will still boil down to a decision na kailangan na ng hiwalayan. Complicated situations.

I want divorce for the Philippines. At least may option for those couple who actually need it. Hindi naman porket may divorce eh people will actually make use of it. So ang stand ko lang is for it to be available for those who need it. It is just an option.

Hindi dahil available ang divorce eh hindi na natin pag-iisipang mabuti yung papakasalan natin and reasons why we should get married. I live in Canada and of course dito may divorce. Fear for divorce makes our relationship stronger. Lol.

^^same here I agree to have divorce pero dapat for valid reason hindi yung dahil type lang nila or dahil sawa na sila sa isa't isa.

Minsan nga sa marriage doon mo malalaman mismo 100% yung pinakasalan mo. Hindi yan lumalabas lahat during your relationship. Kung minsan parang scam rin yan.

True that. Marriage should remain a covenant, not a status symbol.

Actually, I was part of the divorce movement near the gates of the House of Representatives. As a proud divorce advocate, we advocate stronger and higher-quality marriages. In fact, lack of divorce means that many Filipinos take their freedom and human rights for granted.

during the american regime nun 1940's may divorce tayo, ibalik!

What if, hirapan or taasan na lang nila ang requirement bago ikasal! Dapat may checklist? May bond, may kung ano ano pa as sign of true love and commitment.

Please correct me nalang mga sis if I'm wrong.

kailangan ba ng wife and husband umattend?

then what will happen next? -kung maga-grant malaya na sila

naggrant ba eto agad? -kadalasan 2yrs or more. May ibang lawyers nangangako ng 6-12mos lang, ewan ko if totoo yan or maybe baka may padulas, I dunno.

im just curious about it based sa kwento ng friends. magkano bayad sa ganyan? Yung nakausap namin before 250k all-in (including psych test), paghindi psychological incapacity ang grounds 180k and promised na in 1yr daw tapos.

wala ba nadenied once nagpa-annul? -may possibility na ma-deny kung mapapatunayan na may sabwatan ang mag-asawa or nagkasundo na magpa-annul na (ito talaga isang malaking kalokohan, gusto ninyo na parehong maghiwalay pero pipilitin pa din kayo magsama 😂). 1 factor pa is paghindi enough ang evidence na nai-present to nullify the marriage possible na hindi ma-grant.

============

Pabor ako sa divorce. Naniniwala ako that Marriage is sacred only of there is no abuse, infidelity or violence involved. I'm crossing my fingers na sana maipasa ito talaga.

Para sa anti-divorce:
If you are not for divorce then don't file for divorce as easy as that.

- abandonment by the other spouse for at least one year (when i say abandonment, dapat iyon totally iniwan na iyong isang spouse at wala na intensyon makipabalikan)
- when the spouses have been legally separated for at least five years
- when the spouse contracted HIV/AIDS or any other STD dahil hinawaan siya ng asawa niya
- when one spouse commits bigamy (Nagpakasal si spouse sa iba habang valid pa unang marriage niya)

Hmm... Iyan pa lang naisip ko. Hindi ko nilagay ang infidelity. When I say infidelity, iyong nagcheat si wife o husband whether emotionally or physically pero not necessarily pinakasalan din iyong kabit habang existing pa ang marriage niya. I still believe posble pa rin maayos ang marriage kahit nangaliwa na iyong isa.

Update ko kayo pag may naisip pa ako. Opinion ko lang naman ito. :)

may friend ako on going yun annulment nya. Di pa sila nagfile ng annulment that time this year pa lang.

agree, you cannot know what would happen in the future, me iba na they are so hopelessly in love with each other then got married.  but eventually in the long run, they fall out of it.  baka pag mahirap na or mataas na requirements, mas lalo dadami di na magpakasal and just live in together.

Marriage is something na ibibigay mo ang sarili mo sa partner mo no matter what. Siraulo man sya o hindi kapag pinasok mo yun, you agreed to the terms and condition. So bakit papasok if hindi naman pala alam or sigurado sa papasukin? Why change it for the sake na mag appky sa condition natin? Why not apply na lang for a different term like civil union or partneship na pwede maghiwalay anytime?

^ I don't think that's fair.

Halimbawa, yung nakapagpakasal tapos it turns out na iba pala yung sexual preference ng asawa nila. You can't ever really tell kung anong nangyayari sa puso at isip ng partner mo. That's something you have no control of. Pwedeng ikaw sure ka, pero yung partner mo hindi and many times, there's no way to know. Like yung kila Carmina and Rustom, dinaan na lang sa annulment.

I also have a friend na after the wedding, dun na lumabas na nambubugbog pala yung asawa nya (no signs when bf-gf pa lang). If 'divorce-able' yun, di na sya pwede magpakasal after the divorce?

Let's not deny divorce to people who need it.
