^if you'll be using it primarily as a backup, get a desktop. those are cheaper, too. Seagate's bringing in its new line, and they're pretty good looking. Seagate also offers a 5-year warranty for its drives, the best in the market. my second choice would be LaCie.

a good friend of mine has a WD MyBook. no problems with it naman daw. still, i'd rather be safe.

i finally got my backup drive! a previous-generation Seagate FreeAgent Desktop 320GB. brand new, but the model itself was recently phased out. cheaper than the new ones by a bit, although Seagate doesn't seem to offer new 320GB na desktop.

i asked my husband who's in dubai to buy me one of those WD passport.  sabi nya mas mura pa daw sa pc corner.  tapos when he came home ang inuwi yung lacie.  mas mura daw kasi compared sa WD

talaga, masmura ang lacie than WD? lacie is a good brand. if i remember it correctly, masmahal ang lacie kaysa WD sa Hong Kong. or baka depende rin sa model.

actually, inside every lacie enclosure is a seagate or wd drive. talk about 50/50. to be fair, though, there's a massive problem involving a particular model of seagate hdd.
