dimplesgon ,ang galing naman sana ganon din ang mangyari sa akin kapag nag-apply ako as caregiver. Ang employer ko kasi will be my brother in-law.

Nung time nung sister ko sa SPEAK TEST - nakaharap ka sa monitor tapos may question na sasabihin tapos you will answer it verbally (hindi po writing) tapos ni rerecord sya thru video - may time limit per question like 90 seconds lang yata, mga 6 questions yun - then although sabay sabay kayo mag speak test (pero nasa individual cublcle kayo) hindi po pare pareho ang tanong sa inyo

so super bilis lang matapos ng speak test - so review lang kayo ng mga napag aralan nyo

im not sure if true - parang tinaggal na daw yata ulit ang SPEAK TEST

some questions i had to answer during my speak test last march:

- if you suspect that someone is having a heart attack, what would you do?
- what is proper hydration?
- how do you measure oral temperature?
- how do you change a non-sterile dressing?

it's supposed to be 5-6 questions but actually, the first one is always just describing the picture that you see on the screen. i was so surprised that the test was a breeze! ikli lang pala

looks like easy huh??but how did you do it??very formal and comfy?? were you nervous??ahh..this waiting time is really killing me softly,,they say that no more speak test now and back to the interview again??how about you,,did you also do the interview?how long was your waiting time?

       I've been reading from this site since i've submitted my application for caregiver to the embassy.  Anga laking tulong po ng site na to. Nakakalakas ng loob at nakakabawas ng inip. 

       Kaibigan and sam, we almost have the same timelines... siguro going through the same syndrome of inip at nerbyos din tayo.  I submitted mine last december 2006 and got my file number in march 2007.  Just the same, wala pa din ako balita from the embassy pero hoping pa rin ako na one day dadating din yon.

       Good luck sa ating lahat.

^ you just need to go to the testing center tapos wear something nice kasi nga ivi-video ka. pero upper body lang naman ang kita. i was nervous siyempre! i didn't know what to expect pero i tried the hardest to control my fear kasi ayaw ko ma-mental block. kelangan i-clear ang mind para makasagot ng maayos. after the speak test, i went for the medical already. wala na ako interview with the consul.

i don't know ngayon kung meron pang speak test.

mga sisses, share ko lang po ulit

remember yung pinost ko na eldest sister ko na nag aral ng caregiver then yung youngest sister namin na nasa canada naman ang naging employer nya , she got her visa last august then last sept 13 2007 pumunta na sya canada.

her flight arrived sa canada ng 8:55pm pero grabeh ang tagal bago siya nakalabas mga 11:30pm na - bale kasi daw lahat ng mga working visa pinag stay muna then kakausapin isa isa ng immigration - dun daw sila nagtagal - hindi daw agad sila hinarap ng immigration pero yung one on one interview mabilis lang.

ang sistema - pag nasa harap ka na ng immigration officer tatawagan on the spot ang employer mo, then i co confirm nga if inemploy ka talaga and ask some other questions like anong gagawin mo dun, ilang years yung contract.

sa sister ko tinawagan sya sa cellphone - eh siguro sa sobrang inip na nya and her family sa kakaintay lumabas ng kapatid ko from the airport - pag kausap nya sa immigration officer ang nasabi nya " i am her sister"

so nagulat yung officer, sabi " what you are her sister? i thought you are her employer?"

- so sumagot yung sister ko na yes, I am her sister and her employer

- so ask again yung officer if nilagay ba daw sa application yun and if ininform daw ba yung canadian embassy dito sa pinas

- so sabi ng sister ko yes, we informed the embassy- tutoo naman eh

- so yun lang then ask again ng sister ko na "where is my sister? is she okay?" (kasi nga ang tagal na di pa lumalabas - yung pamangkin namin na 2 years old na kasama nila sa airport sa pagsundo - halos nilampaso na daw yung buong airport sa kainipan! he he he)

- so sagot ng officer, she is okay , she is here in front of me

- then binaba na yung phone - yung sister ko (yung caregiver) na ang ininterview, tinanong sya ulit if kaano ano nya yung employer nya - sabi nya sister nya

- then ask sya if ininform ba daw yung canadian embassy dito - sabi nya yes, then pinakita nya yung paper/questionnaire na sinubmit sa embassy - may question kasi dun if how are you related sa employer mo?

- then tiningnan nung officer tapos ayun - ok na.

- eto lang ang bad news - kasi yung pila/interview sa immigration tabi tabi lang - so maririnig mo yung mga tanong at if ano nangyayari - may nakasabay sya na pilipino na na deny ng entry - kasi habang tinatawagan yung employer nung girl- disconnected na yung landline tapos wala nang ibang number - so since hindi ma co confirm yung employment nya - she was denied - grabe super mega iyak daw talaga yung babae - kasi naman ano nandun na sya tapos pababalikin sya ng pinas

- ang usap usapan dun - sabi fixed employement lang daw siguro - baka pagkatapos nya bayaran yung supposedly employer nya - ayun naglaho na.... nakakalungkot

- pwede pa rin palang ma deny kahit nandun ka na.

- tapos meron din palang mga loko dun sa airport - paglabas kasi ng sister ko may mga naglapitan na daw agad na may dalang trolley cart for the baggage then sabi sa kanya 20 dollars daw - ngek! buti na lang nasabihan na sya ng sister ko na 2 dollars lang yun - ayun sinabi nya [textspeak!] syang enough money for that - nagsi alisan na daw ang mga mokong - tapos pumunta lang sya dun nakapile na trolley carts - maghulog ka lang 2 dollars.

Ah so pwede pala naman i-declare na relative ang employer, kala ko hindi pinapayagan kapag relatives ang employer kasi they assume it's fixed employment.

^ sis as far as i know as long as na dumaan talaga sa complete & right process, wala naman problem kasi sa umpisa pa lang ng application ng kapatid ko it was already declared na yung sister ko ang magiging employer nya, tsaka sa side naman ng sister ko sa canada, she was able to justify bakit need nya mag hire ng caregiver overseas at kung bakit wala syang makuha dun, tsaka exacto kasi talagang a month after nya manganak, nag apply na agad sya na kailangan nya ng caregiver.and it was approved naman

so it was very clear sa papers na magkapatid sila - so ayun honest naman kaya mas ok dahil walang tinatago.

This topic is really helpful. I live here in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and I'm hiring my brother to work for me as a caregiver. My brother is currently on caregiving course and will finished it in January 2008.

I already started the paper work here in Canada thru the help of Sices(Philippine caregiver agency). I'm just waiting for the LMO (Labor Market Opinion from the immigration.

Those who applied here as caregiver, did you finished your caregiver certification first before you applied?

The agency told me that my brother can sign the contract after he finished his caregiver course. Kailan ba hinihingi ang requirements is it from the time you submit your application or during the interview?

Adel, when you submit your application to immigration did you include your contract from your employer?

My mom hired my sister to work as a 'caregiver' for her daughters in Canada.  All papers were in place before the application pa.  The LMO was approved, etc. etc etc.  The papers were picked up by the courier (Air 21).  Complete na dapat yun including the signed contract, Certificate of Completion sa Caregiver course including the Red Cross certificate, etc etc.  

It took a while bago makakaalis sister ko.  The application was filed last 2005.  She just got her VISA this September 2007. Ang tagal!  Super!

if you have read my posts almost same din ng time frame yung sa sister ko 2005 nag start application processing ng employer then last august 2007 nya rin lang nakuha visa nya.

and sis bwize - after matapos ng bother mo caregiver course nya - dapat meron din syang mag OJT at experiences na certificates isasama nya sa application nya.
pero tama si sis kaibigan asikasuhin mo na yung part mo as employer syan sa canada yugn mga requirements like posting ads sa newspaper, justification why do you need to hire a caregiver outside canada etc - may guidelines po iyon check mo sa website

YES BWIZE tama sila.  Kapag dito na sa embassy sa philipines kailangan na yung transcript nya ng caregiving.  Eniwey, you will know when you'll need to submit it na. Papadalan ka ng list kung ano ano kailangan i-attach sa papers ng kapatid mo. 

May time pa sya tapusin course nya. Matagal din naman ang exchange ng papers from canada to philippines.  Months din binilang nga sa akin.
