Following reports of a confrontation with Mayen Austria (her husband’s rumored girlfriend) and Austria’s mother Minna, actress and TV host Kris Aquino has moved out of the Valle Verde home she shares with James Yap, taking her two children along with her. The two conflicting versions of Aquino’s dialogue with the Austrias has escalated into a perplexing “she said, she said” situation—with Austria portrayed as the innocent victim in one, and Aquino as the slandered wife in the other.
According to the Inquirer, on the afternoon of January 13, Aquino allegedly went over to the Austrias’ house in her Pasig subdivision and shouted insults at Mayen and particularly her mother, such as “Anong klaseng nanay ka? Anong klase ang palaki mo sa anak mo?” Mayen’s uncle Gabby Lopez, a source of the Inquirer, confirmed the story as it was relayed to him “between sobs” by his distraught niece.
However, as reported by Spot.ph, Mayen’s version of the story has been debunked by sources close to Aquino, including best friend and The Buzz co-host Boy Abunda. Abunda claims that Aquino remained “very cool and polite” and “spoke in a very low voice” throughout her conversation with Austria’s mother, and then with Austria herself. That Aquino maintained her composure and did none of the invective-hurling that Mayen has accused her of is corroborated by this Ricky Lo column, based on the account of a “deeply imbedded (sic) mole in the Aquino-Yap household.”
Now, Aquino is looking for some space from the encounter—as well as from her husband—as she moves into sister Pinky’s house for the time being. On January 17, the daughter of the late Corazon Aquino made another of her many controversial live public declarations on The Buzz when she announced she was leaving her marital home. This does not mean Aquino has given up on her marriage, as she clarifies herself; but she does want Yap to give her the “assurance na mahal [ako], nirerespeto [ako], at hindi [ako] niloloko…Patunayan niya sa akin that this marriage is worth it, make me feel like I’m really your wife, make me feel that he is a responsible husband and a loving father and that this marriage has a future.”
In this bizarre love triangle, whose side are YOU on?
“When I was married, I was so dependent on my husband. He gave me an allowance. I didn’t feel I was of any use,” Miriam Quiambao confesses in the January-February 2010 issue of Women’s Health. The beauty queen-turned-supermodel’s divorce from her Hong Kong-based husband was finalized late last year; in the Philippines, her annulment is currently in the works.
Sharon Cuneta – The Megastar endorses many brands across a broad range of product categories, from fast food (McDonald's) to paracetamol syrup (Tempra) to sea transport (SuperFerry). Sharon, who won Best Actress for Mano Po 6: A Mother’s Love, enjoys unmatched credibility. She's switched seamlessly from Selecta ice cream to Nestlé ice cream, Alaska Milk to Nido, and Globe to Smart Telecom. Wife to Sen. Francis Pangilinan, Sharon is campaigning for Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas, the candidates of her husband's Liberal Party.
