It?s unhygienic kasi. Iba pa din ihi ng mga lalake. Mas mapanghi at madumi diba.

May cross dresser ako kilalang beki at nagme-make up sya pero sa men?s sya nagc-cr. Wala naman sya issue at all never naman daw sya nabastos. She/he respects women and naiintindihan nya it?s awkward for us women to see him/her in the same bathroom.

Lastly, I bring my son to the women?s cr up until he?s 5, bec it?s uncomfortable for me as a woman na pumasok sa men?s para lang makaihi yung bata. He?s always well-behaved never sya sumilip sa cubicles or anything. This is for his safety & to make sure he washes his hands.

Haha

i don't know any of these celebs but i must say-- i find it mind-boggling when people go, "i respect LGBT rights/ i have gay friends BUT blah blah.." the second part of that statement automatically cancels out the first part. anything after "but" rules out the love & respect people claim they feel for their disenfranchised "friends". no, you do not respect their rights so just cut that BS.
people who aren't so privileged get to share a piece of that cake.

Maybe I misunderstood your post but I think you can respect LGBT rights and still take issue with some LGBT's individual's perceived rights. That respect and agreement on every single issue isn't universal or all-encompassing. Many of my best friends are from the LGBT community and I respect their rights to many things including the right to marry and have children, but does that mean I need to accept every single right they feel they deserve? I don't think so. It's a case by case basis, depending on the specific issue, even on the individual.

And I have several transgender friends who DO NOT agree that they should have access to the women's toilet because they understand it would make others uncomfortable. Not every transgender individual will agree on every single issue.

^Agree. Just because you support a group doesnt mean you blindly accept everything they stand for. Case in point, you may be a huge follower of the President but you don't always agree with everything he does and says. Kalokohan yan na you have to agree with everything just because you support them. Kahit sa friends, it doesnt go that way. I may be a fierce protector of my friends pero pag mali or may things sila na sinabe or ginawa na I dont agree with, I just wont blindly go with it.

I wonder kung ano ang magiging reception sa atin if ever nagkaroon na ng mga unisex restrooms aside from the usual segregated. More bathrooms are always great, haha, plus inclusive pa mga ito, so everyone benefits, or at least everyone has a choice.

My son is 6 but I still bring him with me and inside the cubicle pa kasi nasa Middle East kami, so to avoid na rin sa mga iba na maging uncomfortable and for the other reason na for his young age, mas delikado ang mga batang lalake na hayaan sa cubicle ng mga lalake Lalo na sa ganitong bansa.

I saw a post shared by a friend on FB. At first, deadma naman yung girl until the transgenders whipped out their dicks kase inaayos nila yung pagkakatali. When she called them out, chinallenge pa sya na baka i-FB live sya.

I know this doesnt represent the entire group pero seriously?! Wala bang decency and urbanidad? Eh kahit mga biological women hinde magkakalikot ng privates in front of people to see.

Kahit ako siguro iko-call out ko yun. Hay! Speaking of, kahapon nag commute ako with my 2 kids via LRT. So dun kami nag aabang sa priority lane/platform (preggy, pwd, senior, with kids), nagulat na lang din ako may trans na nakipila din, although, not sure if pwd sya kasi mukhang hindi naman :D Kasi for sure di naman sya preggy, senior or with kids :D Oh well :) Hirap na, baka ma FB live :D

How about sa sa CR ng PWD? Nakakainsulto ba pag doon umihi?

exactly. not everyone will agree on every single issue. for example, i have a gay friend who in the midst of the chick-[textspeak!]-a homophobic hoopla, laughingly said, i don't give a f**k, i'm still going to buy their chicken. but i disagree with your point-- i think that respecting people's rights is an all-encompassing thing and it's simply the freedom to choose and not be harassed by making a choice.  what happens then if your trans friends had a different take? what if they feel they have the right to choose which bathroooms they can use? what are you going to tell them then?

fact is, there are people who dvocate for trans poeple to choose which bathroom to use because historically, they've been harassed and threatened when they use gender-assigned bathrooms. younger trans people are especially vulnerable. my point is, people need to stop saying they love & respect their LGBTQ friends when they so willingly demonize them online.

as for moms bringing their kids--of course, the children need to be with their parents. i just provided that example to illustrate that my being uncomfortable with certain things has to give way to things that are more important.

that's very different. of course, you don't support everything any president does and says because that'd be idiotic. people make mistakes, politicians especially. also, a president is in a position of power and privilege far exceeding even us normal folks get to enjoy. trans people are coming from a place that's the exact opposite of that of a nation's highest leader. so that's an odd analogy.

^Nope, not different at all and not an odd analogy. The president may be one person but the LGBT group is also composed of humans and they can make mistakes or be unreasonable too, is it not? So if one blindly agrees with either of the two, won't that be IDIOTIC either way?

what happens then if your trans friends had a different take? what if they feel they have the right to choose which bathroooms they can use? what are you going to tell them then?

If my trans friends have a different take, I would still share my views on the subject which is that in the shared toilet situation, treat it on a case by case basis. Use your common sense and be sensitive to the situation, the culture and the people around you.

I would tell them:
If I am in a shopping mall with families, then I would opt not to use the female toilet and look for a toilet for PWD because it's an environment that would be dominated by families with kids and therefore requires more sensitivity and prudence.

If I am in a city like New York, in the middle of a dance club late at night and there is a ladies toilet, and I need to go, I would ask the ladies in front of me if I can just use the toilet because chances are, in THAT CONTEXT, that environment of adults, that city, it would probably be fine.

Your "all encompassing" view of respecting people's rights means everyone from a specific community will expect to have the exact same rights and the same rule will apply in every single situation, in every city, in every country, to be followed by citizens from different backgrounds? How unrealistic.

That is precisely why Twelvth Goddess and I stressed that regardless of how anyone feels about or supports a cause, nothing, in the context of claiming for the exact same rights, is ever universal. The world is not black or white. You can support a cause and feel respect for members of that group without agreeing on every single issue.

And Twelvth Goddess's comparison of supporting a cause vs. supporting a President is on point and relevant. Eh ikaw nga, you compared fighting for this cause to your friend's support of some random Chick whatever cause. You did the exact same thing as Twelvth Goddess, which is to compare two different situations to make a point.

The black-or-white "you're either with me or against me" thinking is so dangerous and similar to what religious or political fanatics espouse, and what has caused so much problems in this world. If there is no room for understanding or compromise on important issues, there will be no progress.

I don't get the "homophobic hoopla" comment -
If an opinion on an issue concerning the lgbt was formed and expressed and it does not favor the them, homophobic na agad?
