Basta ang kabit, it is a person engaged in a sexual activity with someone that MARRIED. Matagal mang hiwalay yung tao o hindi, basta hindi legally separated or dissolved ang kasal, THEY. ARE. ALL. CALLED. KABIT.

coming from a hard tagalog speaking town, kabit is a general term we use for both men and women who meddle in married relationships, it was never defined to be just exclusive for women; for us, it?s synonymous to kalaguyo which is applicable to both men/women too...

it becomes complicated when you translate that to english since that?s when gender-specific terms come into play

Good point except its actually the reverse. The English language does not have gender specific terms doctor refers to both men and women. Tagalog language, like Spanish, has masculine and feminine terms (doctor/doctora, senyor, senyorita)

In English, derogatory terms for women are slut, whore, b**** (infamous term used against Hillary during her campaign).

But I shared my observation about gender bias because I'm hyper sensitive to it, siguro dahil din it's a very important issue of our times and I'm sick of the undue burden placed on women. But I will not apologize for believing that we should uphold women equally to men

Re: Kabit. Ayoko na mag explain. This is not a technical issue but a social application of the term where the use is implicit, not explicit. When you think of Kabit, or b**** the picture that forms in your head is a woman.

Here is a local (rappler) about this situation. In paragraph 3 it actually says enter the kabit, often portrayed as a younger seductress (woman)... And funny enough it is a WOMAN who wrote this article.

Super quota na ako but last na. Actually came across that article randomly when I googled "who is a kabit" but somehow that article sums up my points in why I think our blame system is flawed. We demonize the mistress but don't hold the males accountable.. I highly recommend reading that article.

For the last time, I dont support mistresses. But like the article has pointed out, a mistress is often just a symptom of a problem in a marriage. But it's easy to place that blame on that person rather than find the problem in the marriage.

Parang medyo nag die down na rin naman yung backlash against liz, I wonder why naman she suddenly wanted a tell-all. Ayan, ang haba na nga ng discussion dito dahil sa kanya, LOL. But okay, she wanted people to know her version of events, keber na kung bad timing or not totally truthful. Plus taga media naman sya, and she knows how to use her influence to her advantage for whatever ulterior motive she has. Yung side na lang ni raymond ang totally no comment, right? Nakakaaliw naman ang discussion dito, napunta na sa technicalities and definitions.  Pero simple lang yan the thread is all about celebrities and Liz Uy is one regardless kung pano sya sumikat or ano ang field nya.  Frankly speaking kung wala sa picture si Liz Uy, mapaguusapan ba dito si Doctora and her ex-husband?  So move on na lang, , sila sila na lang din nakakaalam ng mga totoong pangyayari kaya cool lang tayo dito.

Hmmm.. Hindi naman siguro laging bias sa babae sis.  Actually kung gender bias din lang ang paguusapan pagdating nga sa batas like concubinage lalaki lang ang nakukulong e pero ang kabit na babae hindi nakukulong destierro lang or bawal siyang lumapit.

Meron ba ditong naniniwala na SOLELY kasalanan ni husband or SOLELY kasalanan ni kabit ang isang affair? I think most of us here understand naman that both are to be held accountable for the illicit relationship.

Also I don?t see the point of debating kung sino ang mas may kasalanan because in the end, they both made the affair happen. Kung feeling ng mga mistress is may misdirected anger towards them, please keep in mind na kagalit-galit naman talaga yung ginawa nilang willing participation in an affair and trying to put the blame mostly on the husband is not in any way going to make them suddenly blameless.
