^ umm.. did they ride taxis all the time? Because if you did, some taxis will INSIST na fixed price daw sila.

I only spent 250 php from Taichung railway to Xinshe castle? one way. If sobrang cheap ka, kaya naman na 50php pero di kaya sa kasama ko. Yun lang, the only problem is finding the right bus stop. We got lazy and ended up spending 600 NTD from Xinshe to Taichung railway. (not HSR)
But if you don't know how to communicate - You'd probably end up paying 4k php (2k NTD) for a taxi... Roundtrip... Taichung railway to Xinshe castle.
Pero I've heard of horrible stories that they spent 6k (3K NTD) for 3 hours... it's a common scam there. Like if you hire a taxi to take you somewhere, they will counter offer 3k for 3 hours and drive you too much, and you'll spend too much.

Anyway, we were just 2 people, and super comfy talaga sa Taichung with private driver unless you do intensive research. But really, the transpo will kill you if mag.taxi ka. Ideally dapat 950 NTD lang spend namin sa taichung for the private car, but because 2 lang kami, the cost got higher hahaha

We only spent 3K php per person (1.5k NTD) for Yehliu, Jiufen, Nanya, the buddha thingy, yin yang sea,.. I forgot the others... with tour guide... pero group... ok lang kase we were just 6 people... in one van. where are you getting your contacts? I'm curious.

1 NTD = 2php generally

Hi there! Is there any update if they plan to extend the visa free tourist visit until next year?

If they don't extend the visa-free entry for us after July 31, 2018, pano ang process if you have a US visa?  May submission of other docs pa ba or will my US visa suffice?

2 lang kami ng friend ko mag-travel to Taiwan. And I need a contact for a driver who has a car. Car lang, hindi yung mini-van kasi 2 lang kami. Ang mga nakikita ko lang dito sa thread is puro mini-van na 5-7pax ang capacity...

Hindi ko kasi gusto yung trips sa Klook and KKday kasi puro 5pm ang end. Eh gusto ko Jiufen and Shifen ko is parehong night-time, so I want to customize my own itinerary for:
Yehliu-Shen?ao-Nanya-Jiufen at night.

Tapos I?ll arrange Shifen for another night.

Just got back from Taiwan,

Hubby and I stayed in Fortune Hiya hotel it is in North Datong District malapit sa Taipei Main Station so accesible.

When you get the hang of the Train system it is very effective and mas makakamura to go to tourist spot destination. we loved it here, people are so nice and very accomodating.

Definitely going back with the kids

I used to have Gongcha daily but after the trip to Taiwan on April this year, the cravings are gone. Hinahanap ko iyong lasa ng mga milk tea sa Taipei na little known brands and ang Hot Star doon is definitely better. Pumila rin ako sa woodfired meat bun sa Raohe, so cheap at 50 NTD and puro meat, gusto ko sana sumubok ng deep fried stinky tofu pero wala kami makita doon probably because we went early at 5PM. Din Tai Fung at the original branch is better than the one in Taipei 101. Miss ko rin ang Formosa Chang.

Hi sis! Any advice on where to stay na cheap and maayos na hotel/hostel/guesthouse? Or common talaga na around 2k/night ang cost ng hotel? TIA

^ I think normal 'yun, mura pa nga kung 2k tapos private room. AirBnB namin before parang nasa 2500+/night for 2 pax without breakfast pa. At least sa hotels meron breakfast.

Past midnight 'yung flight namin back to Manila though, so instead of renting a locker for our luggage (bale 3 pcs), mahal din aabutin, we booked a shared room na lang sa 4U2 Hostel, nasa 1200. Isang bunk bed lang 'yung nasa room so parang semi-private na rin, we can stay pa at the hostel while resting/waiting for our flight.

Anyways extended ulit for another year ang visa free entry sa Taiwan.

Will be visiting Taiwan next week and wala pa kaming itinerary. Tried to look for agency sana. gusto kasi ng parents ko.. may hatid sundo sila
baka may marecommend kayo mga sis?

^ mababait naman sa amin, I've been there 3 times already. Malumanay sila magsalita but I've encountered Pinoy tourists who are rude sa mga sales assistants doon, could be a reason, but mas asar pa sila sa mga Mainlanders.
