reasonable weekly budget for groceries
« on: December 09, 2017, 05:52:58 pm »
Hello! Can you please enlighten me on what is a reasonable weekly budget for groceries for a family of 4 (2 adults 2 tweens). When i say groceries andito na po lahat - food, toiletries, food from wet market , pantry items, baon sa school, ganyan. I am trying to make do with a 2k weekly budget. minsan ok minsan sobrang hapit =(  we don't really eat out so sa bahay talaga halos lahat ng meals namin

We're a family of 3 (2 adults + 1 toddler) plus helper and we spend about 2k a week na rin for groceries. We buy meat and gulay sa wet market, the rest of the grocery items we buy sa Mercury Drug grocery.

^^ that's 8k a month sis for a family of 4, parang medyo hapit nga para sakin esp sa bahay kayo lagi kumakain. kung gawin mo ng 10k?

Family of 3 (2 adults 1 baby) . I allot 6k a month pero napapsobra din lagi dun.

we will do  grocery once a month (toileteries, condiments, snacks, canned goods, kitchen supplies  laundry etc)

then wet market twice a month lang, 500 each punta. the fresh meat & veggies that we buy sa wet market good for 2 days lang ( for that weekend lang) tapos stock ng bawang, sibuyas etc.

Not included dang milk ni baby.

eh pag napunta pa ng S&R or Landers, dagdag gastos! kaya medyo nagiiwas na ako this year  ;D

This is true.

We're a family of three (daughter is 7 years old). Most of the time, we're away during the day but I always cook food that we bring at work.

Our groceries range from 3500-4000 every 2 weeks which includes chicken. I budget 1500 for the palengke every 2 weeks. Mostly, seafood lang binibili ko dito and veggies.
Whatever I want, I get. If I can't, I don't stop TRYING.

my husband gives me a budget of 12k every 2 weeks..this is for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 4 y/o)  plus 2 helpers and a driver (stay-out yung driver so lunch lang meal nya)..kami ni hubby only eat breakfast and dinner, and breakfast lang every weekend  since we always go out naman..we do our grocery shopping sa savemore, dito na din binibili pati meat, fish and veggies..minsan, di naman max out yung budget, kasi what i do is check our supplies then replenish lang yung mga kulang na..di pa kasama dito additional items like yung mga nauubos ng kids ko midweek like chuckie, drinks etc saka milk..separate din na bili yung rice..magastos esp nagtaasan pa price ng bilihin ngayon

^hi sis yes kasama na, siguro at most we spend around 5k a month for everything. And hindi lang accounted dyan are yung toiletries and cleaning stuff namin kasi we buy those in bulk and since 2 adults lang kami sa bahay it takes us around 2-3 months to finish them, so hindi sya kasama sa regular spending. We buy everything sa wet market, including bigas, ang binibili na lang namin sa grocery are snacks, laundry stuff, and other random items. Stay out yung househelp namin so food lang ang gastos ko sa kanya. She comes in 3-4 days a week.

Sa palengke, usually, around Php1200-1500 good for 1.5-2 weeks na yan -- meat, veggies, condiments, eggs, everything, 3 meals/day. For breakfast and lunch, food is for me, my toddler, and our househelp. Then sa dinner, kasama husband ko. Sa work na nagbbreakfast and lunch si husband, so that's included sa daily allowance nya. Then the rest of the groceries, 800-1k, good for 2 weeks already. Usually snacks lang marami dyan.

Standard budget namin for 2 adults plus 1 toddler.

I'm single living in NYC and probably spend about $250 per week on groceries and eating out.

Now I feel bad for spending $100/week more than a family of 3 lmao

Our grocery budget for 2 adults + 8yo child is 5k-6k every 2 weeks. I don't go to the wet market anymore kase kaya pati meats, chicken, and veggies binibili ko sa supermarket.
Whatever I want, I get. If I can't, I don't stop TRYING.

family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children below 8)

-weekly budget for wet market is 1000-1500, usually mga fish/seafood, fruits and veggies to, kasi malayo kami sa palengke na may fresh ingredients...

Another way to choose a grocery budget amount is to look at the plans created by the USDA. The most recent plans can be found on their website. ... That makes the grand total grocery budget $871.00 per month or $217.75 per week

our usual budget na 10k/month for Groceries and Food naging x 3 ngayong pandemic,  since 7days/week na kami kumakain sa bahay unlike before na hinde naman ako nagluluto pag may pasok sa office then madalas dine out pa pag weekends.

Hiwalay pa yung gatas at diaper.
