Hello GT Sisses!

I don't know if I'm alone here or di pa lang ako sanay.. But how do you deal with different work shifts?

I work during the day and he works during the night. When we weren't married yet, ok lang kasi we were able to perfectly strategize on communication. Pero sometimes, I feel bad pag di ko sya napeprepare ng food tapos he goes home hungry.. Late na din ako nakakauwi so he suggests me not to prepare food na and just rest. Since I was also tired, dina talaga ako nagluluto.

But I realized na kawawa naman asawa ko naghahanap pa ng pagkain sa labas when he gets home. Question ko is how should I manage to prepare food for him na hindi magsasuffer yung complete rest on my part?

Or should I just accept na meron talagang masasacrifice, which is the wife's convenience? Ok lang naman.. diko lang alam if may namiss out akong diskarte.

Sa mga wife dito na dayshifter and nightshifter si hubby, how do you take care of him? I'm still a new wife so I'm really learning pa lang.

Thanks in advance!

^my friend is like this, she works during the day, si hubby niya night s*** and they?ve been married 8yrs. Ang set up nila is si guy ang nagluluto. They have a kid so mandatory naman talaga na ipag prepare ng food ang bata.

The guy cooks then nilalagay na lang sa ref. Pag uwi ng wife microwave niya na lang para may dinner sila ng kid niya. Umaga na uuwi si husband so breakfast na which the wife will cook.

I think it?s better if you can both prepare meals. I saw a video sa newsfeed ko sa fb about husbands helping around the house. Basically the message is husband shouldn?t help coz he lives there too. He is a partner so he should take part with the chores around the house including coooking.

Hi sis, i think ok yung suggestion na kayong 2 mismo mag cook for each other, hindi yung ikaw lang. I mean, alternate siguro, depende kung sinong mas may time, siya muna magluto tapos yung isa naman pag pagod na yung isa. Or if parehi kayong walang time, ok lang naman na bumili na lang sa labas.

Kung gusto mo talaga magluto, mas ok siguro sa weekends or pag pareho kayong off para you can eat together. Kumbaga yun yung special time nyo sa house to bond and enjoy a meal together para meron kayong something to look forward to after working the whole week. Tapos pede mong damihan yung serving para you can put them in microwable containers, lagay lang sa ref tapos si hubby pede niyang kainin yun on weekdays, iinitin na lang niya.

Thank you sa mga suggestions nyo.. For the cooking part, I think hubby can't cook kasi sa level ng pagod parang mas pagod sya sakin when he comes home. Sa ibang chores he helps me pero pagdating sa food, he prefers the easier way.. So sa tingin ko the least I can do is to make an effort to cook at night or weekends or buy food nalang para di na sya yung mag hanap ng food pag uwi nya.

I agree on shared responsibilities, kahit na pareho or magkaiba kayo ng shift.

Ako I cook if I have time otherwise I buy. Si partner naman, he buys din but since he doesn't cook, lagi sya buy extra for the next meal (breakfast the following day lalo na sa mga bata kasi maaga school nila at tulog pako)

My work hours are longer and I also study. Kaya between samin, mas may time sya and he doesn't want to see me tired Kaya he helps around the house but at the same time ayoko din naman na lahat sya. I do what I can do but most importantly I make sure I don't get stressed out by the chores at full attention ko nasa  kanila when they talk to me or when they're at home. Yun naman mas importante kesa pilitin mo gawin lahat tapos pagod ka and haggard.

Kung hindi naman sya nagrereklamo that he is eating take outs then it's okay. You can also batch cook during weekends, put them in the freezer. Your hubby can re-heat or microwave it when he gets home.

Easiest way would be to buy food na lang. Yung budget nyo pang-grocery/market, i-allot nyo na lang pangbili ng food. Very convenient, hindi mo kailangan magpakapagod or isacrifice ang rest at tulog mo.
Same outcome din naman -- may food pag-uwi nya hindi sya magugutom. Hindi ka pa kulang sa tulog. Win-win.
