Health/Critical Illness Plan
« on: January 17, 2017, 10:23:03 am »
Hi mga sis!

My husband and I are already covered sa lahat - even sa college fund ng baby namin, but I am scouting for a good health insurance/critical illness plan.  Knowing my family's cancer history, I don't want to drain the savings kung sakaing magkasakit ako. All our other SIX policies are with Philamlife and I feel like their Health Invest is too pricey.

Any suggestions po?  I am turning 33 this year and ayoko nang magdagdag ng 2,000 worth of monthly bills.

Thanks in advance.

^ we have one in Sunlife and one in Prulife.

Last year lang kami kumuha sa Sunlife, (31 years old last year).

Yung sa Sunlife namin around 1400 each of us ni hubby per month. (annually kami magbayad).

Then yung sa baby namin (she's 4yrs old), halos 900 pesos lang per month. (we also pay this annually)

Yung sa Prulife namin kasama sya as rider sa life insurance namin ni hubby and our daughter.

It is a very good idea na kumuha ng mga ganito.

^sis may i know what particular products ng sunlife and prulife to?

I don't think it's enough.  I also checked Paramount Healthcare Cash Plan kaso wala atang critical illness coverage yun.  Saka good lang siya for twenty years.  I asked the guy in the hotline, sabi kapag ng-50 years old daw, kuha ulit ng ibang product.

^ For Sunlife our plan is under sunfit and wellness. Yung PruLife nakalimutan ko tawag hahaha pero I will check pag uwi ko mamaya. :)

Covered din kami ng HMO sa employers namin pero I also don't think it is enough and what if magkasakit kami ng malubha kapag retired na kami? Wala ng employer non e. Kaya need talaga paghandaan.

So parang insured din kami + may pang critical illness pa.

^sis gwyne21, yes sis Sunfit and well din, 20 years to pay sis. 500k coverage then +250k kapag cancer ang sakit.

Mga sis salamat sa mga input

I got my quote today for Sunlife Assure:

Summary:

1) Face Amount (minimum), 1 Million

2) Covers 36 Critical Illnesses
     including Heart Attack, Stroke,
     Cancer, Kidney Failure. .

3) Increasing premium every 5 yrs
     Starting with Ps. 8,140/annual
     2nd 5 yrs, Ps. 9,350/annual
     3rd 5 yrs, Ps. 11,350/annual. .
Pay may using your credit card

Not bad noh?  Wala nga lang siyang hospital benefit...

Eto kasi yung proposal naman ng Paramount:
Daily Hospital Cash Benefit 3k
Daily Dread Disease Cash Benefit 6k
Daily ICU Benefit 3k
Convalescence Benefit 60k
Maximum Hospital Cash Benefit 3M
Maximum Dread Diseas Benefit 6M
Maximum Intensive Care Unit Benefit 3M

Hala! Natorn ako between the two!

Yung Sunlife, basta nadiagnose, isang bagsakan.  Yung Paramount, una, hindi siya masyadong matunog as an insurance company.  Sunod, nasa 22k siya yearly compared to the 8k yearly of Sunlife Assure.  Yung 22k niya may hospital benefit na saka nasa 3M ang coverage niya...yun nga lang good for 20 years lang siya mula sa unang bayad mo.

Need ko maliwanagan...oh my god...

I bought Axa Healthmax for me and my 2 sons. If I reach 70 na walang claims, pwede nako mag withdraw ng cash. Whatever remains will be death benefit, something I will leave for my family,  wala pa din talo, di ba? If I don?t get my money, mage-earn pa din ng interest yung hindi ko kinuha. I also stretched my payments, instead of paying for 20 years, I opted for payment until age 65 para mag-swak sa budget  namin. Flat yung premium namin  for the entire duration. Sa kids, covered naman ang dengue. I am paying around P1.2k per month (based on annual) for each of my 5 and 9 yr old son. 20 years to pay sila, while mine is 25 years.

Sis engr_neechee, ask your advisor din ng quotation na may hospital riders, para mai-side by side mo both proposals. :)

For all VUL products, lagi ang ina-advise ko talaga is to include health riders. Iba na kasi panahon ngayon.

Salamat sa info mga sis :)  I asked for a lower quote from Paramount.  Nasa 770 monthly for ten years (7k yearly) yung 1M coverage payable for 10 years tapos extended ng 10 years ulit without any premiums para sa aming tatlo na.tapos baka kumuha ako ng tig-isang Sunlife Assure para sa aming mag-asawa.  I want to make sure na habang bata pa yung anak namin eh hindi magagalaw ang savings if ever someone gets sick.

Sunlife Assure is until age 65 lang ata.  Naisip ko by then siguro may naipon na akong mas malaking halaga. Iba na yung siguradong may madudukot kang pampagamot if ever.  Ginagawa ko to kasi I saw how my mom's cancer journey drained her hard-earned savings before.

Hi Sis, better to get a VUL plan that has life protection and critical illness fund na din. Bale 3 in 1 product sya. Got mine from Insular Life naman, its 30k annually (payable in 10 years) with Php1mn critical illness and Php1mn life protection benefit. Tapos ang projection retirement income by 60 years old is around 4mn. Not bad na din. :)

I already have five VULs for me with Philamlife  - a total coverage of 4.5M, one of them is fully paid way back 2009 pa.

I already signed with Sunlife last Sunday.  Iniisip ko pa rin yung Paramount kasi nagpaquote ako nugn mas maliit and ten years to pay lang siya. Dalawa kinuha ko with Sunlife - one for me and one for my husband.

I think malaki na insurance coverage mo for the existing VULs para magdagdag ka pa.

Add rider sa existing mo, then top-up nalang. Mas malaki pa mase-save mo and maiinvest. :)
