Burn out happens when external demands exceed your internal resources. External demands could be parenting, work-related, taking care of sick loved ones, debts, etc, while internal resources could be substantial income, emotional strength, patience, etc. These demands could span from a short to prolonged period that can exhaust your inner resources. Furthermore, the stress caused by these demands may be exacerbated when your spouse is unsupportive, apathetic, or couldn't support/help you for some reasons.
Suggestions or recommendations:
1. Rest, relax, rejuvinate. You can take a vacation or have a regular me-time, prayer time, or any activities that will fill your love tank.
2. Ask for a specific help/support from your spouse or other relatives. For example, I would ask my husband to date my daughter when I want some me-time.
3. If possible, lessen your commitments, unnecessary expenditures, and the likes. Just stick to your top priorities for yourself and your family.
As what sis super bratinella pointed out, it happens to all of us, it's a fact of life, especially for us living in a city. The question is, how are you going to cope? And if you, as an individual and as a couple, could not cope with the stress, it will inevitably spill into your marriage.
