^ so sorry to hear that sis. Please report that incident to the website of the US Immigration (if there is) as Suggestions or Points of Improvement. I feel you dapat tinatanggal mga ganyan na Consul . We should be treated properly kasi ang mahal ng US tourist visa a. Dahil sa mga aspiring tourists ng US kumikita ang US Consulate based sa PH.

I have a friend who works for the US Embassy here in Manila.  She said that all tourist visa applicants are "presumed" denied.  Ganyan ang training daw sa mga consuls.  Applicants should prove otherwise.  & even before you appear at the window for the interview, a decision has already been made to your application.

^mas less chances talaga maapprove kapag may ongoing petition. May kakilala pa ako ng na ban sya embassy kasi nakipag away sa consul, 3x na sya nadeny. He's very well travelled in fact USA na lang ata di nya napupuntahan. Di sya mabigyan bigyan ng US visa kasi dad nya is US citizen at may ongoing petition rin.

Anyway wag mo damdamin masyado, tama si vanityfair they are trained to act tough and may decision na sila even before the interview.

^ Yung family friend namin sis, na may petition din eh na approve lang last month, tapos ni wala silang matibay na business dito, at ni walang isang properties under their name tapos ni walang travel outside pinas.. kaya nung ma approve sila, nabuhayan ako ng loob.. sabi ko.. aba maluwag na ata.. Kaya na convince ako na mag apply.. I was wrong.

They were lucky.. mabait yung consul na nag interview sa kanila. Ni walang masyadong tanong, approve agad.

Kaya ako naman si ga-ga umasa.

Shine share ko mga sis.. para makapag prepare kayo.. and kung makakaiwas kayo sa amerikana na blonde ang buhok, I hope makaiwas kayo.

^ Hmm, I applied for a US tourist visa in a country where I am currently working and if I'm not mistaken few days after my interview, I got a survey email from the US Consulate about the process. I replied to that email and raised the issue that they should provide lockers for applicants if applicant's belongings are not allowed inside. Imposible naman kasi na walang bag na dadalin ang applicant papuntang interview e papano pag magisa lang pumunta at nagcommute pa . In my case I had an american guy na maayos naman kausap kahit hindi din nagsmile even if I gave my best smile to him. Power tripping din mga yan e, imagine he asked for my resume. I have never thought of bringing a resume. Ano yun job interview? When I first heard his question, gusto ko sana sagutin na "Oh, I was not informed that this is a job interview." kaso syempre bawal naman sumagot ng ganun. Sumagot na lang ako ng maayos with a blank and nagdududa face na "Sorry, I did not bring any resume but if you want to check that I'm connected to company X, I have here a copy of my COE and some payslips to prove that I'm working in that company.", then he said "nevermind." Tatlong beses din ako na-hold at pinauna yun applicant after me before I got his decision.

And almost lahat ng US Consulate sa buong bansa magaganda, they occupy the whole building and one of the reasons they had those funds ay dahil sa mga applicants. Because of that, we are their customer and we entitled to be treated ng maayos. I feel you kahit na denied sana man lang wag silang magsimangot at kausapin tayo ng maayos. Sa tingin ko napunta ka lang talaga sa menopausal na consul.

yes, kasi meron nang ongoing application with immigrant intent.

but to get back to the "rudeness" issue, apparently a quick Google search shows that this happens everywhere, kasi nga ata because they are trained that way.

It's not in the job description of visa consuls to be friendly & chummy to applicants.  They're very straightforward & stern.  The US Embassy is considered US territory.  By entering it, even though it's in your homeland the Phl you've entered their territory & jurisdiction na.  It's their prerogative how they would want to deal with you.

That's the sad part with dealing with 'US Security', they always have to hold their guard, not easy to trust and almost always put on a tough front. Same sa airport nila. Ang lakas ng boses, very commanding! Sa ibang airports naman na napuntahan ko, very polite naman. Baka nga part ng training nila when dealing with outsiders that they are allowing to enter US. Some agents are just taking it waaay too seriously.

Hi,anyone have a same case with me? My petitioner died but my petition was approved by year 1998 pa. Now the  visa bulletin is almost our priority date na. Do I need to seek a help from an attorney? Or anyone have experienced this and they were approved? Thanks and appreciate your feedback.

Mga sis, don't be disheartened. Ganyan na talaga sila ever since. I got my first US visa last 2003 along with my family, pero one of us got denied due to the reason 'family ties'. Ang labo lang eh. Pero ayun, thankful na lang ako na nagkaron ako and naapprove naman pag nagrrenew ako,
 

I have a friend na nag apply but got denied dahil nakita na may records yung relative nya sa US. She doesn't know kung ano yung mga records na yun, pero yun yung cause daw kaya sya dineny. Pero some of the consul's reasons naman, parang unacceptable na. You just need to be strong kasi pagka-land mo palang sa US airport, ganyan din ka-stern ang mga immigration officers.

Anyway, may nakapag renew na ba dito na na-deny? Just asking for my friend who's renewing.
