Maria Leonor "Leni" Sto. Tomas Gerona Robredo (born April 23, 1964)[2] is a Filipino politician and the widow of Jesse Robredo, who served as the Interior Secretary from 2010 until his death in a plane crash in 2012.

Robredo is currently serving as a Member of the Philippine House of Representatives from Camarines Sur's Third District since 2013. In 2015, she announced her candidacy for Vice President of the Philippines in the 2016 election under the Liberal Party.

"Noong Miyerkules, nagulantang ako sa isang balita sa pahayagan na maglalakbay muli ang Sumilao farmers, hindi na para ipaglaban ang kanilang lupa, kundi para magbigay suporta sa aking kandidatura.
Siyam na taon na ang nakaraan nung nakiisa ako sa ipinaglaban nila, bilang abogado ng mahihirap. Ginawa ko ito noon, nang walang hinangad na kapalit. Hindi ko lubos maisip na pagkalipas ng maraming taon, sila naman ang sasama sa aking laban para sa mga nasa laylayan.

Isa sa mga pangamba ng mga anak ko sa labang ito ay ang mga pagmamalupit na puwedeng gawin sa akin sa paraan ng mga batikos na wala namang basehan. Ngunit sa totoo lang, mas malakas ang takot kong magising ng isang umaga na nabago na ako ng kapangyarihan at atensyon.

I would rather bet for Leni than those other VPresidentiables na ang tagal ng naging pulitiko wala namang nagawa or kung may nagawa man, balimbing naman. Kung hindi balimbing traydor..hay naku.

Leni's genuinity may drive her to lead a better Philippines. I don't think sisirain niya ang pangalan ng asawa at anak niya para sa pulitika lang..She was a good wife, a good mom and maybe a better mom for the poorest..may puso siya sa mga mahihirap, nakikita mo yan kasi araw araw niyang nakakasalamuha sila by riding a bus...alam mo yang simplicity niya e hindi lang pakitang tao kasi since day one na nakita natin siya as wife ni Sec. Robredo she was simple and calm na talaga at walang nag iba..I admired her the day when his husband was still missing, she had shown remarkable composure and hanggang ngayon. I don't think na magpapadala siya sa LP. She's a lawyer unlike kay Cory noon na isang housewife. She said that she will have the same commitment whoever will win.
