Here's my timeline and mga docs na na-submit ko:

Feb 22 - Online application
Feb 23 - Received email requesting for docs. Emailed: COE & Passport copy
Mar 5 - CI sa office
Mar 9 - Card received

So to answer your questions mga sis, nope hindi sila ma-higpit sa requirements.

May tumawag kasi from EastWest nagoffer ng credit card nila.

Salamat hehe

To BPI users here, para saan ba yung madness limit? Is it an extension of the regular limit?

^yes. this is where your installment purchases are charged. i.e. BNPL, 0% installment purchases on stores with BPI cc terminals, cash to credit, SIP, etc. there are merchants though that directly charge installments to the regular CL and not the ML. so ask the store first. straight purchases are charged to the regular CL.

at first di ko din alam ito but i have been using this ML for years na. mine is more than double my regular CL.

^ah ok, so parang yung dati na nakahiwalay yung SIP. My madness limit naman is halos twice lang of the regular limit, pero malaki rin yun na limit that's been sitting there unnoticed all this time! Sobrang clueless ako nung may nagtanong sa akin kung ano ba talaga sya, hahaha. Thanks for the info.

Yung iba ring merchants aside from madness limit meron pa silang BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later). Usually mabibill ang installment after three months pag ganito.

I feel so devastated right now.

I made my sis as my supplementary holder for one of  my Metrobank CC with 100% limit thinking na she will be responsible  to pay which she was naman.  But yesterday when I was about to use my card for the first time in 5 months nadecline while I was grocery shopping so nagtaka ako.

I asked her bakit coz I dont have online banking and the bill goes to our family house and sabi niya baka daw offline lang and I wasnt convince kasi parang kinabahan siya when I called to ask her. So ayun na nga when I called the bank kasi cancelled na daw yung card kasi almost 4 mons na yung payment less than the minimum lage binabayad tapos nangyare nacancel din yung isang CC ko na metro din kasi may default ako na card.

I was shocked na pwede pala nila icancel yung isang card ko even walang balance at di ko nagagamit? Another thing is di ko alam bakit di  nalang nila nitransfer nalang sa isang account ko yung balance para na pa installment instead of cancel card tapos nadala sa collection agency :(
when I asked if I can do that no na daw kasi cancelled na yung card na walang issue at nasa collections agency na yung isa. :(

I asked what my options are and What they want:

-deferred payment nalang daw to pay off balance in 6 months zero interest and then apply nalang daw ako ng bagong card after. or 12 mons-24mos but with 1% interest monthly.

Is this a good idea na ipa defered ko nalang sa metrobank yung balance and have my sis pay it monthly? wala na kaya hidden charges? baka mas lalong magballoon ang balance

Im not willing to pay it with my own money because it wasnt an expense and to think name ko masisira because of this :(

she shouldve told me na may shortage siya aabonohan ko pa para sa kanya but the fact that she didnt and she lied medyo mas nairita ako

ANyone with experience ng cancelled card?

thanks!

^ ang sakit sa ulo nga yan sis. I didn't experience that though, pero naexperience ko ang quite a similar situation sa isang loan ko noon - na iba ang nakinabang sa loan (a friend) pero sa akin nakapangalan. What happened here is that may ibang taong nag forge ng signature ko doon sa check na naissue, then eventually this was settled out of court (kasi I was pushing for a court case, at nagpatulong ako sa co-maker ko ng loan na iyon).

Good thing sis, nalapitan mo na rin ang bank than running away. But I think you can still negotiate with the bank to have lower terms.

Why didn't you have the online banking access AND the copy of the bill in the first place? What made you think of adding your sister as supplementary?

Your sis already lied to you in the first place - do you think she will be as committed to paying the entire balance in just six months? What would be your plans in getting her up to that responsibility to pay this?

To find out the hidden charges, you will have to be straightforward in asking the bank if meron talaga mga ito and how they will exactly bill you.

It's more of a headache kung hindi mababayaran yan and you have no other choice but to settle - with or without your sis's participation. As the principal cardholder, mas tinamaan ng "bad credit" yung pangalan mo than your sister, because the bank expects due diligence and responsibility on your part whether to have additional people "ride" into your card. So if problems like this arise, mas hahabulin ka pa rin than your sister because you're the principal cardholder and owner of the account. At the end of the day it will still be you who will have to settle this with the bank - then bahala ka na maghabol kay sis.

Then after mabayaran, rebuild your credit - because it will be too difficult already to get CC, big ticket loans (housing, car, business, etc), postpaid telco bills and even a checking account with your name listed as "bad creditor" with any Philippine bank (merong CIC na kasi that the banks can easily look up your credit history). Yung suggestion nila to apply for a CC after you have paid would be a good start to rebuild your credit kahit maliit lang ang umpisa na credit limit na ibigay sa iyo. (Forget about the credit-building if you plan to pay everything in your lifetime using cash!)

Then don't make the mistake again of not monitoring the bills (it's not just your sister or other family member, kailangan mo ring ma monitor ito for other fraud), AND not having a copy of your bill delivered to your address.

Not all people can handle finances well, that's why in the first place banks don't just issue out credit cards to everyone even if they are just around the corner trying to chase people in the mall to sign up. In the same way, dapat hindi rin basta basta ang supplementary and even allowing other people to "ride" into your credit especially kung gipit yung ibang tao. You have to understand that you will eventually need to settle the bill because simply because it's your name on it.

The frustration (I think) that you have here sis is more than the credit card matter - is why your sister didn't tell you about having this issue in the first place. I don't think she understands that you can get into really deep trouble for this. I also have the impression that she could just get away easily and that you will save her day - especially pa at magkamag-anak kayo.

I dont use online banking even for my other accounts coz takot sa cyber scam lol. and the bill is sent to my permanent address, our family house. I didn't really mind changing anything coz my sister had her supp card from me for over 2 yrs and never naman nadelay so me being the  kampante kapatid doesnt check bills kaya shocked ako.  Turns out nagbabayad pala siya monthly pero last 4 months hindi abot sa minimum amount of the bill per bank  :(  She cant get approve for her own card coz she works in a call center

Yes, more than the amount I'm irritated with the fact na she never told me about it coz I couldve helped her muna sana to pay off kahit minimum lang but its too late and now ako pa rin gagawa ng way coz again its on me nadamay pa yung card na walang kinalaman. hayyy

I know my sister so well and she is not like that. And I know her intention was  not to put me in a bad situation pero  mapride kasi ayaw humingi ng help :(

^^
Right, you will always know your sister well. Siguro nagkaproblem siya sa finances lately so nahirapan siyang magbayad. I think you should talk to her about her issue with the finances. Along with that she should understand the consequences of your situation - like I said above, mahirap nang makakuha ng big loans and CCs because the "bad record" will appear whenever you try to apply for a loan or credit at any financial institution. So you'll need to pay things in cash.

Paano kaya if you need a loan/credit for emergency purposes? Cash pa rin kayo (an emergency cash fund is better, but that is another thread here)?

Two things that you really need to accept -
1. Online banking is here to stay and there's a trend for banks and telcos to move from paper billing to online statements.
This said - need na natin learn na mag spot ng fake phishing sites (just like in real world - learn to spot fake goods and fake friends, LOL).
Your situation should be enough to already scare you out of wits for not being able to check right away. Mabilis kasing magreflect sa online sites/apps ang mga purchases than waiting for a paper statement so you can already do a call to the bank (or your sis) to even stop or question a purchase.
Actually, trying to avoid online banking will just increase you chances of your card getting caught in fraud - because the fraudsters know how take advantage of people "having no knowledge". Sabi nga, "knowledge is power", so learn enough.
It's even more of a headache and a heartache if talagang fraud na yan.
One thing more - having more supplementary cards will even expose your credit line at risk too.

2. She will eventually need to rack up her own credit history. Kaya lang naman hesistant ang banks sa mga nasa call center (or other jobs na "negative" sa paningin nila) because people there tend to jump from one job to another so banks don't see it generally as a stable job. Pero that's just "one turn-off point" lang ng banks and they just don't decline outright just because they saw the occupation/company worked for. They will also consider yung job tenure, past credit history, even existing bank deposits (if they have access) and income.
Meron pa rin namang naaapprove kahit call center pa sila and usually because:
a) they may have stayed in their jobs and companies for quite a while,
b) they may have probably started out their credit history with small credit and/or maintained good standing in their telco bills, and also
c) they may have started their credit histories with secured credit cards (there is a separate thread here sa forum)
One good point to convince you that your sis will need to have a CC of her own is that in case something happens to you (wag naman) then she does not have to rely on your credit history to get things on her own.

I am not too sure if your sister's name is also reported sa CIC (hindi ako si banker) along with yours, but she has stayed long enough sa work nya (more than 2 years), she might want to consider applying credit on her own. Better yet, apply na lang siya ng low interest loans like SSS and PAGIBIG through her employer and use the proceeds to pay the CC bill.

Ang maganda lang dito, a bad credit history can always be repaired and this problem can always be solved. :)

Hi Sis. Online application ako May 5, tapos today sila tumawag for CI. I just want to compare lang kung gano katagal if approved. Thanks!
