I think gusto nila yubg Oakwood kasi aside from the huge rooms, walang corkage if magpasoj ng food for the suppliers..

sis same thing sa kin. Mas gusto rin ng coord ko yung Oakwood dahil malaki at hindi mahigpit sa packed meals pero Edsa Shang pa rin ang binook ko para mas maganda sa pictures. I think ok lang din naman sa kanya. Cash allowance na lang sila, mas mahal nga lang.

Sa mga nagbook sa Edsa Shang, ok na kaya yung Tower Wing Deluxe 34sqm for groom preps then dun kami ng second night? Or is it too small?

^sis, we booked the Garden Wing Premier Suite for bridal preps. Yung 19k++ . Sobrang mahal na kasi nung mas malaki dito. Plan namin 1night sa suite then 2nights sa Deluxe. Not sure pa kung ok yung ganitong setup, concern kasi ako sa pagtransfer ng gamit. But we can upgrade naman later on.

Parepareho pala tayo sisses, photographer suggested Edsa Shang too over Oakwood. Still haven't booked though, I'm still considering pag mag Shang Fort na lang ako kahit malayo sa church

^ true sisses!! Bakit nga ba sobrang mahal ng Edsa Shang compared sa ibang 5 star hotels? I also wanted to consider Manila Pen kaso ang layo naman sa church ko which is SSJ. Dont want to risk the traffic and get late sa ceremony.

I think Edsa Shang is expensive because it is the best hotel in the Ortigas and QC area. Marco Polo claims to be 5 star also but Edsa Shang is still a notch up despite being a much older hotel. I think they know this and so they can demand for a high price. Otherwise only Edsa Shang is 5 star in the area.

Unlike in Makati, they have to compete with other 5 star hotels within the area as well as BGC.

^Stella028117 why don't you try the Garden Wing Premier Suite in Edsa Shang? I think the other suite is already the  suite with balcony, hence the price! I think the 70 sqm of the Premier Suite should be enough. Are you allowed to take pics in the public ares like the lobby? If you are then I think it is worth the extra cost.

In Shang Fort, yes the suites are bigger at 97 sqm. But this is their premier suite equivalent to Edsa Shang 70 sqm suite. The next suite level (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and Manila Suites) are as expensive as the suite you are eyeing at 64-83k per night. There are only 4 in the entire Shang Fort and also not ready for occupancy. Then one presidential suite which is just hella expensive.

And yet, I still find 24k net per night expensive. But I would have spent about the same in Manila Pen or Raffles anyway. =) Plus it is also two buildings away from Ascott BGC where some relatives of the groom will be staying. My fiance is still deciding whether to get a room in Shang Fort or get a 3BR in Ascott and stay with his family. He doesn't need grand lobbies or staircases anyway for his pictorial hehe.

My church kasi is at St John Paul II Parish in Eastwood and ang pinakapractical talaga na hotel for me to do my preps is Eastwood Richmonde pero I read super strict sila kaya nagdadalawang isip ako. Ayoko naman ma stress mga suppliers ko sa kanila. Na entice na lang ulit ako when they told me na they could apply corporate rates for me daw (since my husband-to-be works as a pilot at Cebu Pac). Pero nung chineck ko naman yung corporate rates, halos kaparehas lang ng sa Agoda yung rate.

Next ko ipapatanong yung sa Crowne Plaza (since my photographer recommended this to me din and they said hindi daw ganun ka strict sa Crowne) and baka mas mura pa with Cebu Pac's corporate rates.

Pero bet ko pa din EDSA Shang because the person assisting me super nice. We could do photos naman daw sa lobby pero outside food daw bawal. But I think madali na yun gawan ng paraan ng coordinator ko. Natatakot lang kasi ako dahil December yung wedding ko baka super traffic eh Eastwood yung Church ko. Also may convention pa daw na nakaset sa preferred date of stay ko.

^We're in the same situation Wednesdei. As much as Id like to book Oakwood since cheaper, we are most likely sticking with Eastwood Richmonde. Takot talaga kami sa traffic especially these days you can never predict! It would really give us peace of minds if we're just inside Eastwood. I know myself and masstress talaga ako if our sked wont be followed haha. I forgot which thread I read it in but Belle_v2g and her coordinator talked to Bon Chon (which is located near Richmonde) and prepaid the suppliers' food. They just gave food stubs to their suppliers so they can just claim their food in Bon Chon. I think Bon Chon also cordoned a specific area for the suppliers to use.

I plan to serve snacks and drinks inside the hotel, maybe some bread and iced tea, so they have something to munch while working:)

Around how much cheaper are the corporate rates? And what rooms are you getting? I pencil booked 2-2 bedroom suites for us.

Hello!  For those considering Edsa Shang, I booked Edsa Shang for my wedding too - the Garden Wing Premier Suite for myself, and the Tower Wing Horizon Executive Room for my groom and for our 2nd night.  I've asked and was told it's allowed to bring in food for my suppliers.  Photos/videos are allowed on common areas, you just need to fill out a form and submit for approval a few days before the wedding, no charge   HTH!

stella028117: Yes I booked my suite for 2 nights. I don't want to bother moving all my stuff upon checkout especially since the bride has a lot of things. Even my fiance has an issue about checking out of his room on the day of the wedding which is why he is leaning towards just getting a 3BR in Ascott BGC for 2 nightd for his family, and will stay in the bridal suite after the wedding itself.

Although honestly this can be done. You can always just book your bridal suite for 1 Night. However check-out is at 11 am, so you might have to request for a late check-out. Then you can just ask assistance from your coordinator and relatives to help move your things to the deluxe room after check-out.

Go for Edsa Shang! =) Especially if you are allowed to take pics in the public areas. I still prefer nicer lobbies for picture taking even if I have to stay in a smaller suite hehe. At first I found the suite in Shang Fort too expensive as our bill for 2 Nights is almost 50k!!! But then I figured, that is a small price to pay compared to having my wedding reception in the hotel itself. And yet, because I am doing my prep there, my portraits will be the same as other brides who will spend millions more to have their wedding there.

I guess it really depends on the bride's priorities. But for me, either I book myself in a very nice hotel and suite, or I will just do my prep at home since at least it is a very personal space and will add character to the pictures.

Anyone who knows the rate of The Lake hotel and Taal Vista? So we're planning to book two rooms for the night before and one room na lang after the wedding.

Hi sis! I almost had my wedding in Tagaytay. I was going to book Balai Taal for our wedding prep =)  You can rent the whole house. I was going to give the 2nd floor to the groom and his family, and 3rd floor for me and my family. Then we were going to also use the ground floor for our after wedding party. The price is reasonable considering how many people can stay in the house. It has a big garden! Actually this is also a wedding venue, but rent is cheaper if you get it for family use only.
