We're doing the scandinavia tour + iceland also. Do you have an itinerary na? Hope you can share with me hahaha! I'm not sure kasi which way is better, mauna ba ice land etc. or norway muna. hehe I'm also looking into staying at the ice igloos!!! haha

after 2yrs of being married finally honeymoon, were spending 2 weeks in the islands of Hawaii. worth the wait talaga. Europe is very scary to go to right now kaya i guess it can wait. mga 2 yrs pa siguro or hopefully sooner kug di na masyadong magulo

Anyway Chili1113 I cant do the Antartic one yata haha I want lots of things happening na each day! Saka I am not that outdoorsy lol. My hubby said boring nga daw Oslo and Stockholm and he'd rather go straight to the fjords.

Gingerbreadwoman, I dont have an itinerary yet. My hubby has been to Iceland just recently also so baka Norway [textspeak!] amin this time, with Sweden and Finland lang. I am planning to mix it with the Mediterrenean para diverse!

Does anyone know a good place to honeymoon in late feb? 

My fiance and I would like to leave a few days after our wedding. So we'll be leaving last week of feb (and hoping to go for about 2 weeks).

We wanted to go to Europe but it's winter in Feb, and I read that it will be quite cold and wet.  Has anyone been to europe in late Feb? Was the cold unbearable?

Any help would be appreciated! As much as possible, we'd like to go somewhere where we can sightsee and wander around (we would prefer not to go to a beach or just stay in 1 resort, like the maldives).

We are considering Australia. But are worried it might be too hot during summer? Anyone been there in Feb?

^Hi stella, im pondering the same thing also, if Europe is THAT bad in winter, as i've never been gone then. But one thing i really appreciated from our honeymoon last May-Jun was that the daylight was so long, 8 or 9pm and it was still sunny so we were still able to go around until 10-12mn if we wanted to. I want to be able to have that again the next time we go, so perhaps we'll target March or April next year at the soonest (but i have to check!)

^Europe in April is nice, cool weather. I was in Italy, Greece, Croatia, Paris etc from 2nd week of April to first week of May (we went on a cruise) and the weather was quite nice. (Most of) Italy, Greece, Croatia etc were sunny and great for touring. We did need to wear a light jacket most of the time, though. And it was still too cold to go into the water (if you're planning to go to the beach).  Paris/Milan were both drizzling and cold at that time.  When we went, they said it was right before the summer/tourist season started. So it was (luckily) a little less crowded than usual. But if you want to be sure of warm weather, I think mid-May onwards would be the safest time to go.

I asked a friend who was in Germany in December, and she said it was unbearably cold. So i've definitely ruled Europe out for Feb (as it's the coldest month).

We will most likely go to New Zealand or Australia instead

^ and ^^ winter in Europe isn't that bad really, unless there's a storm wherein you will not only be cold.. you'll also be wet. And snow and rain ain't a good mix. You'll be slushing around literally. .  In the UK, winter season is quite fickle, as it can be 4 seasons in one day.. literally.  I've experienced no snow for 4 seasons, but I've also experienced 1-3 inches of snow as late as end of March upto the 1st week of April.  Normally the temp around the UK and Mediterranean during late Feb and March would be somewhere between -7  - 15 degrees celsius give or take kung may snow or wala. If walang snow then  1 - 15 degrees give or take. The key to keeping warm and staying stylish would be layering. Leave the heeled boots at home though. It's no fun traipsing around Europe when you're feet hurt or you  can't walk in the cobblestoned streets hehe. 

April-May, the flowers have bloomed so if you're keen on gardens, that's the best time to come. Downside, there might be a chance of rain. June-July are great months as the sun is out.
If you like Christmas markets, then November and December are the best months. Just check accuweather for the temp. It's about 90% correct.

I was just in Sydney and Melbourne last February. It was hot in Sydney but I can say it was bearable. Bring summer clothes, just dont forget your hats and sunblock as the sun can really hurt your skin. My friend and I were so arte during our first day in Sydney so we just wore our hats and didnt put any sunblock on our bodies. Grabe, we were so sunburnt after 1 afternoon of walking and riding the ferry. We put sunblocks na on the following days but our shoulders and chests  still hurt and peeled after a week haha. They have a weird weather in Melbourne though. We mostly wore pants and shirts. Most of the days were cold(low 20s deg) but there was this one day when the temp was 44 deg i think and it was like hell! It's like walking with an open oven right in front of your face. Sobrang init ng streets.  You can also feel the heat of the pavement pierce through your shoes haha. Except that extremely hot day in Melbourne that it was imperative for us to stay indoors, we were able to go outdoors and enjoy our visit:)

We were hoping to go wine tasting, drive around, enjoy the city etc in Australia.  Would you say it's a nice place for a honeymoon?   I'm also thinking of New Zealand, but I"m worried it's limited to very outdoorsy stuff (We wouldn't mind hiking some days, but we would also like to go sightseeing (around the city), visit vineyards etc.

Not sure if just these three places, but we were in Europe for 3 weeks and spent about 450k for 2 people, all-in. We did a LOT of travelling though, so the transpo costs really jacked it up and we stayed in maybe 7 or 8 different accommodations. If you'll be staying put, it's certainly going to be cheaper One other thing that we paid for are day tours (took about 4) which are roughly 200-250 USD per day.

Have you considered South Africa, or maybe Spain-Portugal-Morocco? Or how about South America? Hehe my options are all over the place as well but it looks like we're sticking with Europe (Greece + Turkey) and Arctic Circle for the meantime.

Hi sis. Inclusive of plane tickets from the UK, my  friends and I were able to visit 3 countries (this was about 2-3 years back) and it cost us about £1500 (P115K) per person.  But we didn't stay in 5star accomodations, just in 3 star hotels that we found in trip advisor and booking.com.   We also didn't eat in 5 star nor any michelin star restos.  Mostly bistros that we see pack or has queues (probably has good food). When we were researching, it said to at least  prepare €100 a day. But we didn't really exceeded that, as we normally have free breakfast sa mga hotels and B&Bs.  We also commuted.  We didn't do any shopping, as we really prefer sightseeing when travelling. I guess to be safe, with inflation rates, I would say basically you can probably travel with a P200,000pp budget and just add extra for shopping.  Good luck sis.

@sparklingjewel:  We considered Spain and Portugal also, but unfortunately, it's still winter in both those places in Feb, plus it might be raining. Some websites suggested Morocco, but I'm not sure if we'll have enough to do there hehe. Have you been?

We're thinking of New Zealand now It's supposed to have great weather in Feb and March, and it seems like quite a romantic place for a honeymoon. Has a nice mix of city life as well as beautiful scenery

Greece is pretty! Though when I went last year, I actually liked Croatia more. Malta was beautiful as well. You might want to take a look, if you haven't set your itinerary yet!

^Havent been to Morocco. Haha look hot there, and i hate hot, so never prioritized it. Currently discussed with the hubby, looks like we're leaning towards the Greece + Croatia + Malta + Turkey trip rather than the arctic circle, he reckons i'll get bored if all we're doing is travelling far distances to chase the aurora for a week. Haha. Im curious about Cyprus, too. Kaso grabe puro plane yata lahat to.

@sparklingjewel: you're going to have an amazing time! Those countries are beautiful.  If you like wine, Croatia has really good white wine, called Posip And if you like truffles, they're everywhere over there! All the stores have amazing truffle oil that they'll let you try/sample.

Haha, same thoughts about Morocco. It looks pretty, but way too hot. We wanted to go somewhere with Spring-ish weather, so it'll be nice to walk around.

We booked our flights for our honeymoon over the weekend -- we've decided on New Zealand I'm so excited! We're going to go on a hot air balloon, a scenic flight, boat cruise, short road trip etc. Seems like there's so much to do there (even if we're not super outdoorsy, hehe).
