Ako, I don`t get turned off with the content of the posts, but by the frequency. For example, if two people posted about their VDay escapade, I would perceive their posts differently depending on the frequency of their posts. If the first person habitually updates his/her facebook with their latest staycation, latest gadgets, latest charity work, etc, there`s a probability that this person`s motivation is to present a certain self-image to other facebook users or to get approval by fishing likes or other motivations that satisfy the ego. On the other hand, if the second person only moderately or seldom post in facebook, his/her motivation could be really sharing genuine happiness and not out of self-presentation.

There are also others who frequently post about the same theme again and again, like family or kids or work or networking. I guess it`s because this is where their lives are revolving. This is okay lang for me.

But then, it is undeniable that lots of people use facebook to present one`s self, create a certain self-image, or fish for approval. Nothing morally wrong with that, one can just unfollow or stop checking newsfeeds -- like what I did. :)

I don't usually care and mind what others post. Except for this one. I guess totoo nga sinasabi ng iba kung panay ang post maybe it's to compensate for something (like posting mushy or over the top sweet couple pics all the time --maybe irl may insicurities talaga sa relationship, etc)

"Bragging" and painting an image of herself about how she's been a great mom to her kids ( who are now young adults), and how she's been a mother for so so years now, "sacrifices" she's done (really?! i know it's the lola who's the one doing all the sacrifices for her kids since day1 after nya umire) etc...posting her pics and her kids pics all the time, all happy etc...

But i know for a fact that she's not really taking care of them 80% of the time, but the lola... all of them!
Ever since they were babies, to young kids, to adolescents, even now! Most of her kids don't live with her nga eh but with the lola, who's already old (and complaining to me)

But of course that's what social media is for. I'm so pissed off. Lol

Editing: sorry i think i got carried away. I just hate lies.

^I find it funny pag overly mushy ang girl on social media pero pag kasama mo naman sila as a couple in real life eh hindi naman ganun, na hindi naman sila sweet.

My officemate was bragging on Insta about this designer bag she got.  I liked the photo and congratulated her because I wanted the same bag kaso namamahalan ako.  I asked her where she bought it sa comments.  Ayun biglang blinock na ako.  Kaloka.  Nung kinwento ko sa isa pa naming friend, sabi nya kasi daw Class A pala yung bag  ::)  Magyayabang ng gamit tapos fake pala sus.

Yeah... I actually know some married individuals who are really not at all emotionally secured in their relationships, pero when you look at their facebook, their posts paint sweet and happy marriages.

The thing is torn din ako sa opinion ko about this matter sometimes when I get annoyed with this kind of people naiisip ko din alangan naman ipost nila mga baho nila at drama, mas annoying naman yun haha! But yeah a lie is a lie, and I shun these great pretenders too! LOL But we can always look the other way (block, unfollow, unfriend) ;D

^Me too. I always tell myself people have the right to post what makes them happy. Pansin ko lang pag I am not happy or stress ako mas madali akong mainis sa mga posts sa FB or IG. So I guess it boils down that your views on others reflect your inner turmoil. Because if you are happy you won?t get easily irritated. Hahaha. Mapapansin mo naman kung genuine lang na gusto magshare or talagang for the sake of yabang. Basta ang iniisip ko na lang you can control which one to follow or unfollow or even block. Basta ako petpeeve ko yung naseseenzone talaga. The rest, tolerable. I can always browse it away naman in case it gets on my nerves.

May isa ako inunfollow  sa fb hindi ko sya actually friend but we need to exchange our fb accounts for some reasons.

So true...it's easy to unfollow people naman, like puro nagbebenta ng product or dati puro chismis pinopost at napupunta sa feed ko. Even unfriend them.

i also don't care most of the time, this one particular instance lang kasi i'm close with the lola and saken sya nag-oopen up about she's been doing all the hard and dirty work for the mom eversince when...and then i see those posts...like, talaga lang ha ang kapal talaga. Lol! Ang sarap magcomment but of course i don't! Hahah

We can post whatever we want but sana keep it real naman. We don't have to post our problems or anything negative online.
We can post happy pictures, sweet pictures, but why exaggerate things? 😄

It's like some people want to project a certain image. What for? There are people who knows us in real life and can tell what's true and what's not.
But...oh well, their wall, their call. We don't have control on what others post only our wall and the Unfollow or Unfriend button. 😄

Lately i haven?t been checking my newsfeed. I?m only active sa mga fb groups that i?m selling on, or sa messenger to chat with friends or if someone wants to inquire about something. Other than that i don?t open my fb.

What i noticed is i am so much happier, i am just focused on myself and not minding other people?s business. Also i am more productive, i get a lot of work done and more money coming in. And i find i have less negative thoughts in general. So sa mga nag ba-brag, no audience no show. I don?t really know what everyone else is up to and I prefer to keep it that way.

I can understand why it can cause depression to some people. I use FB usually to chat with friends. Maraming braggers but I don't concentrate on them. Besides, they are really close friends. I don't accept any request unless I really know the person well. Kahit the guy I am seeing, we're not connected in social media at all. Sa text and in person kami may connection. There's more peace that way. Kahit dito sa GT, after I hit that close button, it's gone...hindi ko dinidibdib.

^ I've seen a documentary sa TV last time featuring a girl na nagsasuffer from depression. As per the girl, nakaka-add ng depression sa kanya kapag nag-sosoc media sya. Posting about their jobs and achievements, etc.
From there, I realized na nasa tao din how she will take those annoying posts na nakikita nya. My brother, deactivated his fb account for a while before telling me with full honesty na nakakaramdam sya ng inggit paminsan minsan sa mga nakikita  nya, and that's kinda sad.  :(

Well, going back to the topic, although nakakatuwa din naman yung couples posting pics over soc media, kaso I have an impression na right now na happy lang sila sa picture and not really in real life. I know a guy who has a mistress and friend ko sa fb yung wife ni guy. The wife kept posting pictures pa din pretending that they are completely happy as if there's nothing wrong with their relationship, where in fact she knows what's going on. Sad.

Also, medyo lighter side. I don't know, why people have to take pictures of their starbucks coffee with their laptops sa table with a caption, "work, work, work, work"  ;D

ooopsssss...just my opinion.  ;)

Kaya andaming nag socmed detox.  ;D

Unfortunately for us na nasa abroad lalo na sa Middle East (na halos walang activities at restricted ang mga galaw) mahirap iwasan hinde mag on line or magbrowse because this is the closest we have to being "connected" with the people and our country/culture - our home, so parang we are not left out updated pa din kami sa lahat, like uy si ganito nanganak na pala, uy they got married na din sa wakas, aww his dad passed away, so sorry for their loss, uy wow that girl graduated as cum laude, her parents must be proud, uy aba may sale pala sa SM I'll tell my parents nya and siblings, alamo yun, I can say for me it is imperative to check my social media accounts, every now and then because it's keeping me sane, bawas sa homesick eh its as if we never left. Ooops OT.  ;D

My stand still remains, feel free to unfriend, block, unfollow nalang pag may masakit sa mata. ;)

I enjoy looking at travel photos. Hindi ko tini-take as bragging yun. Kasi parang nakakapunta na rin ako sa mga places na yun just by looking at the pics. And food pics din pala 😊 but not starbucks coffee heheh

Me too, travel and food posts enjoy ko talaga, maski family gatherings or outing, company events, ang medyo masakit sa mata ko mga material things na binili tapos ipost, gifts/freebies are a different story though, or depende sa caption haha!

Yung cousin ko ganito and yung anak niya. May utang sa akin matagal na. Until now hindi parin nagbabayad. Kapag sisingilin mo laging walang pera. Wala pa daw sweldo etc. Pero nakapagpa debut ng anak niya. At brace.

Puro kayabangan.

And sobrang lahat ata ng binibili nila na branded naka post sa fb kasama yung paper bag and kahon. Hello! ang tunay na mayaman humble. :p

Yup.

So I really guess it depends din sa perspective ng taong tumitingin.  ;)
