FINANCIAL GOALS for 2016
« on: December 15, 2015, 09:35:25 am »
I checked the other thread and I guess pwede na mag start ng new thread :)

Maybe we can check our 2015 financial goals and check if ano pa ang hindi na-achieve and then
continue next year and then start on new or other financial goals na din :D

1.  build my emergency fund
2.  build up my savings
3.  get a memorial plan
4. save for my son's educational plan

My financial goal for 2016: MAWALAN NG UTANG!  :-\

Honestly, this 2015 is a struggle for me - esp on financial aspect of my life at my age.  :'( kada magkakaroon ako ng pera, bayad utang lang. kaya ayun, tipid mode the whole year. But before this year ends, nag-clear na ako ng utang (though may onti pa pala. haha.) kaya mejo budgeted ang pasko ko ngayon di tulad nung mga nakaraang pasko. hays. tiis tiis na lang. ;D

Off topic: Nagdecide kami ni bf na magsave na ng pera to start by January 2016. Since starting palang naman ang relationship namin (haha), i suggested mag-alkansya nalang kami. haha. wala din kaming goal na bibilhin at the end. basta makapagipon lang daw. can you guys suggest on how to do it? or any other ideas?  ::) TIA!

PS: IDK where to post it. so yeah, OT. hehe.

^i am a 30 y.o. wife. Both my husband and I are working and are expecting our first child. never ko pang naisulat ang aking financial plans but hubby and I regularly talk about them. As of now, we have

1. Our own life insurance plans as retirement funds
2. Fully paid plan in St.Peter
3. Mutual fund investment through COL Fund Source for my baby's education fund
4. Health cards for both of us
5. A little savings

At mga challenges like debts

1. Car mortgage- 36 months pa! Bale 2018 pa matatapos. Kinuha ko yung car about a year bago kami ikasal.

2. About to sign a home loan contract for our new townhouse.
We will be using our savings for the equity and bank charges.

-in 2015, lahat ng bonus namin halos dito napunta sa pagsave for the equity of the house. Kahit mauubos savings namin for this, minabuti na namin agahan ang pag acquire ng sarili naming place.

3. Almost 5 months preggy here.

Hubby and I always talk about our priorities and remind each other to stick to our goals. ang financial goals namin for 2016:

1. Be able to maximize our income especially bec we will be living on our own --

we will be "adopting" my mom who is still earning her own income. But she lives alone and malapit na rin maging senior citizen, so hubby and I decided to make her stay with us. I am an only child, kaya ako rin talaga ang dapat na mag alaga sa kanya later on.

She will be contributing to our monthly expenses. In fact, she volunteered to be in charge of the electricity and the landline/internet.

2. Practice minimalist living and minimize expenses in the meantime.

-wala pa kaming masyadong budget for new appliances kasi sabay sabay nga ang expenses. Fortunately, my mom will bring her own appliances para gamitin muna namin in the meantime. Wala munang interior design options.bare essentials muna until we have replenished our emergency fund. Siyempre si baby muna ang priority. :)

3. Be able to replenish about 1/3 of our emergency fund little by little. For 2016 ito.

In 3 years, we will finish the car loan. This means we will have more money to save especially for the education of our future baby and for our retirement.

Medyo mahaba at di gaano malakihan mga goals ko for 2016. Pero starting pa lang naman kami bilang mag-asawa, challenging and exciting for us ang magstart na mag budget for our own household.. Bale next week pa lang kami maging 1 year na.:)

Pasali :)

I am done with my 3-month emergency fund, opened a COL account and invested in MF and stocks, and opened a save-up account in BPI to have another account to keep my other savings.

For this year I plan to:

1. add another 3 months for emergency fund, to total 6 months worth
2. get a memorial plan
3. get an insurance
4. fix my current savings from all accumulated 13month pays, salaries na hindi naubos, etc and designate it for my daughter's education, my fun fund and my retirement fund..then keep building that.

Good luck to all of us!  :D

I like the idea of stocks for the future education of baby. Although I'm not pregnant yet, siguro gagawin ko na to. By the way, I'm 26, not married yet. Me and my BF is in serious relationship and we acquire plot of land in province, future home namen. It will be fully paid in two years, sakto lang pag kasal na kami we will be able to loan for construction.

My goals in 2016:
1. Fund my COL with about 300k
2. Savings for our wedding
3. Health card for my Papa
4. Emergency Fund(na hindi talaga gagalawin)

By the way mga sis, I never had credit card, takot kasi kami sa utang pareho ni bf. Pero somehow nahihirapan ako sa debit card ko pag gagamitin kasi sa security pag sa ibang bansa ako ayaw mag go through ng payment. May masusuggest ba kayo? wala kasi ako tiwala sa sarili ko haha. Medyo impulsive ako.

Good thing bayad na ang utang before the year end, so for 2016 eto ang financial goals

-3 months worth Emergency fund

^^ for me, bayaran muna ang utang nefore anything else.

For 2016, our goals are:

1. Increase Emergency Fund from 4 months to 6 months.

2. Maintain a minimum for our baby fund. We started a baby fund this year when I got pregnant, just for the projected expenses for delivery and first few months. Would like to have a baby fund just for the baby's needs (binyag, 1st bday party etc)

3. Open baby's own account.

4. Buy our first family car with at least 70% down payment. Pay the balance within a year.

5. Increase funds in existing investments.

Yun muna. Good luck to us all!

Establish my 401k! If only I have the dedication to save $10,000/year, I'll have good retirement funds!
