I'm sure next na tanong after ng kasal.. O kelan ang baby? or mag baby na kayo agad!!! Lol!!! Mga tao talaga :D

Agree mga sis! We can feel the next pressure too! Its a hard earned money na nga marami parin comments, pagnaghingi ka pera may comments din kaya kahit anong gawin mo or saan ka lulugar may sasabihin parin sila so better choose what makes you happy.

Amen to what you all said! Been there, done that. Totoo yung kung sasabihin mo either you'll look mayabang or manghihingi ka ng tulong/sponsor! Hindi mo alam kung saan ka lulugar. People have opinions kasi about anything and everything..and this is one of the things that hubby and I kept to ourselves lang talaga during our planning last year. I think only 3 people knew (my parents and his elder sister) about our budget range, pero hindi pa din kami nagsasabi ng exact amount kasi we know makakarinig kami ng opinions na baka hindi din namin magustuhan. Besides, aper my hubby's words its our wedding and tayo naman ang gumagastos. Kaya kahit super duper excited ako to announce kung sino gown designer ko for example, smile smile na lang ako kasi for sure the next question would be magkano? Bakit dun? Mura ba dun? Hindi ba sayang pera mo? Same thing with the rest of our suppliers.

Ang importante.. you try fulfill your dream wedding no matter what! Kiber sa iba!

Very true mga sis! We did not divulge din to anyone we know how much did we spend sa wedding namin. Kalma lang mga te, one step at a time. :) hahaha

^^hahaha!

Kanya kanya talagang preference yan.

Medyo stressing ako the last few days kasi madami kaming unexpected na expenses for the wedding I was telling my H2B I think we need to re-adjust the budget and increase by another 50k.

Then this morning my uncle messaged me na ibibigay na nya early yung wedding gift nya. I was very surprised kasi more than half ng total cost ng reception yung gift nya.

So totoo yung mga sinasabi ng brides here, God will provide.

Question lang mga sis, how do you ask for discounts/freebies?
For us kasi medyo mahirap since overseas couple kami and hindi naman kami maka-attend ng bridal fairs sa Manila.

My coord negotiates for me or...

1. I ask directly if that's the best price they can give me. Some suppliers kasi will give you a quote with room for "tawad".

2. I will say xxx is my budget, can we work with that. The supplier can then adjust. For example, I'm not getting peonies kasi I haggled an extra 5k off my flower cost.

3. I will give them a list of what I require and they adjust the price based on what I need. For example, my P/V team adjusted my quote kasi I said I don't need SDE, tarpaulin etc etc.

I never ask for freebies kasi minsan di naman talaga kailangan yung freebies. It just makes you think that you're getting a good deal, pero (possibly) you're not. Also, there's no such thing as a free lunch -- the cost of the "freebie" is factored in the price.

^ hello sis! try to haggle :) try mo lang naman. yung sa photo vid namin kasama kasi yung prenup sa package. eh sabi ko ipapatanggal ko na kaya sya na din nag less. yung sa stylist namin 50% agad hiningi nya na downpayment kaya tinanong ko if we can revise the payment terms and he agreed naman. so far wala pa kong nabobook sa bridal fairs. puro thru email or facebook lang.

Thanks for your responses, sis LilaFowler and sis Roxy14.

I have a coordinator, but OTD lang. Nahihiya naman ako magpa-negotiate sa suppliers. Though I might ask her about her suggestions.  :)

^ If you don't want her to negotiate for you, ask her na lang yung rate for a similar service so at least alam mo how much dapat ang charge sa iyo and may basis ka for haggling.

Minsan kasi they will try to charge you more, pero if you know how much it's supposed to be, you can haggle.

Thanks in advance ^_^

LilaFowler Good for you! God really will provide!

pinkmoscato Try to haggle by asking politely. Try to see as well if they're attending bridal fairs where you can get their bridal fair rates. But when you do haggle for discounts or promo, be sure na sila na kukunin mo. Other suppliers naman they don't give discounts, but usually in a form of freebies.

vhenhice Welcome to GT! If 250K max budget niyo, allot at least 30% for your buffer money. Madali lang mag scout but before doing so list down all your priorities muna. Where is your wedding going to be? How much would you spend sa caterer, photo, video, hmua etc. I have posts sa blog that might help. :)

Hi sis pinaydiaspora! :) Alam mo, binabalik-balikan ko talaga yang blog mo. haha! And yes, I tried haggling na through email and I informed them na we can't attend bridal fairs in Manila, unless there's a bridal fair pag bakasyon namin this year.

Nag-calculate ako kahapon ng magiging expenses namin based sa list of (tentative) suppliers ko. Grabe lang, tumaas pa ng 20% from the first budget na na-set namin.

^ I have an excel sheet but it's not on percentage form.
I started with our overall budget then from there, I did on a lot of research on the rates of the church, reception venue and catering. Once I have the range of their rates, that's the time I find out how much I am willing to shell out with the other suppliers.

It really depends on which one is the easiest way for you to organize things. :)

Ladies, how do you find time to research/prepare for your wedding and work at the same time? O.O
