Finally bought our wedding rings in Golden hills Trinoma, actually layaway siya. Very simple lang with hubby's ring na plain and mine with 5 smalll diamonds. Gusto ko sana eternity kaso sabi nila hindi ko na daw mapaparesize yun just in case sumikip or lumuwag yun, eh lifetime free resizing sila. they also gave us 20% discount when we told them na we always visit them sa mga bridal fairs. hehe. We got ours at around 56k pair na. :)

Got married about a month ago. Just want to share that it is true when they say you shouldn't scrimp on your wedding ring. Aside from photo and video, my wedding ring is one of those things that hubby and I are glad we didn't scrimp on. Because it is something you wear everyday so the cost is worth it =)

Nawala ko wedding ring namin. What to do?  :'(
Is it okay if magpagawa ako ng new one with the same design or need namin mag change pareho? TIA

Does anyone know how much ang platinum wedding bands?

Nakabili na kami pero I just want to compare. I think 65k bili namin for a set of plain bands. 5mm for his, 2mm for mine.

Agree with sis chili1113, we visited some stores na maganda sa pictures yung ring and very popular ang shop online and sa bridal fare but pag nahawakan mo na actual yung ring, parang iba. My soon to be in-laws recommended Maliday, we got our rings for 85k for the pair, sabi nga ni H2B all out kmi sa p/v kasi forever na yung photos, so dapat pag ipunan and gastusan din yung rings, kasi nga naman habang buhay na yun susuotin   ;D

^yup! Naaliw ako because me parents still wear thwir wedding rings everyday even if they've been married for 41 years. My lola wore her wedding ring up to the day she passed away at 100 years old. :) :)  So we didn't want to compromise on our rings.

Sis is this a good idea or not? Medyo hesitant ako.

Dad passed away na and mom wants to give us their wedding ring since shes not going to remarry
naman. Ok lang ba yun?  Wala bang any bad omen on this?

Never heard of one and it depends on the person. Others happily use their parent's ring as is to keep the memory alive.

If you're hesitant, maybe ask if you can use the gold instead? Pagawa into a style fit for you guys.
Or just decline the offer..

^ sis summer_princess I think it's really sweet of your Mom to offer you their wedding rings. I'm not sure if there is a pamahiin about this, pero actually my Dad passed nadin and my Mom offered their rings, kaso I turned it down nicely, sabi ko sakanya parang remembrance nadin nya yun sa Dad ko among other things, and na appreciate naman niya.

And worst, hindi kaya matanggal yung stones?

^ you can get it re-dipped or polished.

Yung akin din gasgas na from use, I will get it polished before the wedding para maganda sa photos.

Avoid taking your ring off, baka mawala. I only take my ring off at home. Di bale na madumihan, wag lang mawala.

i agree with LilaFowler, ipare-dip mo na lang sis. Ako naman since officework ako, di naman every now and then na nagwawash ako mg hands. And i am taking it off pag nagwash ako. i am confident din naman na dko sya makakalimutang isuot ulit hehe

Happy weekend!

^ most jewellers will redip. White gold needs to be redipped, not polished. Polishing will remove the plating. Ask your fiance where he got the ring kasi most of them will do it for free. They also clean the diamond and check prongs too to make sure the diamond is secure.

One of the reasons we chose platinum is so it doesn't need re-dipping. It stays white. The problem is that platinum is softer than gold so it scratches easily. Pero sa may palm area lang yung scratches so it's ok. I get my ring cleaned every 3 months. Libre naman plus masarap ka-kwentuhan yung may ari ng jewellery shop.

Our wedding ring kasi is a combination of gold and white gold. I just realized na yung white gold part pala is Matte? Grabe puro na agad scratches. Is it fine?

@ellaenchanted - I used to work in the operating theatres and as per hospital policy, nothing below the elbows kami. We can wear wedding rings as long as they are just bands (no embedded stones at all).  Infection control and all that jazz.  I was engaged that time, I wore 2 rings (1 promise ring with stones, and my solitaire engagement ring), what I did was hang it around my neck with a long necklace. It was rarely seen outside my scrubs. Some surgeons even followed suit hehe.  I plan on doing the same when I go back to work, depending on the hospital's policy. I moved kasi.  As to the rings getting scratched, it's just one of those things that can't be helped.  My husband has a thick and wide plain band, and he refused to get his ring redipped, when we had our church wedding.  He said that the scratches added character. It will tell daw the test of time. hehe.  We did have a cleaning solution where we can just soak our rings (or any jewelry) in. And LilaFowler is right regarding the polish and redipping. By the way, one cons of redipping is that if your rings has any engraving, it will either cover it once dipped, or make the engraving less pronounced.  Hope this helps.

Baka pareho tayo ng design pero OA sa gasgas yung matte kahit na 14k na yung pinagawa namin! Naghahanap na lang ako ng ibang design papatunaw namin at ipagawa ulit ng mas matibay.
