^Hahaha. Thanks sis 120515. Our colours actually started as a joke. Kasi school colours namin eh green and gold FEU. hehe.  We were even teasing each other na my husband would look like either the Riddler or a leprechaun. hehe. But as the months passed, I kind of appreciated mint and sage. hehe. And given the proper fabric, maganda din ang emerald. That's why we chose those colours. Naku OT na hehe. My problem is the ceiling. It's quite low-ish, and has got lots of chandeliers, so no draping can be used. I was thinking of having balloons with gold and green ribbon as strings. But my question is would it not look like mashadong cluttered??

hmmm...i think you can celebrate the chandeliers and leave them as is? have you considered draping thick gold ribbons across the ceiling? like gold, sparkly ribbons and the if the chandeliers use warm yellow lightbulbs then the color would play off well on the gold ribbons and the ribbons will just criss-cross the ceiling

^ Hi sis120515😊,  I've thought about it before, but wala kasi syang pagsasabitan😦. Plus the chandeliers are in rows. The ceiling is bare white, and slanted. Even with the chandeliers, it looks a bit bare for a wedding.  Haay

Hey bonzaigirl, do you have a photo of your venue with the chandeliers? It depends on their placement din kasi, you wouldn't want the ceiling to be masyado stylized na mabigat and sikip ang feeling when guests go inside.

My own venue has a low ceiling (lower than I would like, at least) so I'll ask my florist na lang to focus on centrepieces and table decor na low-set.

Hi sis, Last time i went to sm meron sila, pero if you want ikea frames na white, may nakita ako sa furniture source sa may ortigas you can check it out.

hi sparklingjewel, if you have a hard time looking for dowels, you can try thick skewers/barbecue sticks. i used thick skewers for mine and they look great. they're also cheaper than wooden dowels

hii tiffany, i'll be hanging paper rosettes from the church pews. you can also use giant tissue paper flowers or giant crepe paper roses or tissue paper pompoms to hang from the pews.

hi annerea, try checking textile stores, they should have burlap. you can paint your monogram in white.

Ohmygoodness 120515 that is such a good idea!!!! I'm looking for fragrant flowers to use as centrepieces at reception, i.e. freesias, sweet peas, etc. But herbs would be very lovely, especially with white flowers for a more simple and fresh look.

Honestly I would go for that if I could (my initial peg talaga was an all-white reception venue) but hubby-to-be-'s father is very traditional and wants to avoid white wherever possible in the wedding

Not to live vicariously or anything but for the ladies who can and would like to do this, don't hesitate! If possible pa nga, they can even use the fresh herbs on the dishes served during reception

akane_xylene: I'm having an overseas reception and freesias and sweet peas are sourced locally For PH naman, you can check with your florist/stylist on fragrant flowers are readily available I think

Hello girls... we just had our wedding four days ago and I'm happy na nagawa and na-achieve lahat ng vision namin. I'll be sharing photos soon pero advice ko lang, tuloy niyo lang and enjoy niyo lang ang pag DIY, very satisfying to see your hardwork pag andun na mismo.

sis, malayo pero ang dami ko nakitang wooden dowels/rods sa Tabora street sa Divisoria. sa street din na yun maraming craft shops na mura lang ang rolls ng ribon as in. Nag ribbon wands din kasi kami sa Church since bawal maghagis ng bigas/confetti. But instead of wooden rods, we used balloon sticks cut in to two kasi mahaba sya eh
