Honestly I'll suggest you move it September man lang or October, August is the peak of summer, temperature can reach 50degrees tho ngayon mas maaga ang ramadan (May) baka hindi ganun katindi ang init.
You can go to Abu Dhabi on a day tour but if you will visit ng August, sobrang init sa Grand Mosque which is a must visit when youre in Abu Dhabi.
If you go September or October, you can do Desert Safari sis, na I really suggest sa mga friends namin who come here kase nga you will go to the Middle East at least experience the desert. The usual desert safari will pick you up around 3pm and they will drop you home mga 9PM na, which is not late in Dubai, malls/ restos during weekdays closed at 11PM, weekends alam ko mga 1PM.
Are you traveling with Kids?
Check in booking, com, better to stay near the metro, if you are on a budget Deira/Bur Dubai has hotel apartments but the food here is not too expensive naman so you can skip na cooking and can eat out, we have big servings compare sa Pinas.
Using the train you can visit Dubai mall and Burj Khalifa, then if you want take a taxi to city Walk at night for coffee or ice cream, opposite lang sila. Next Day go to Atlantis, Madinat Souk, Burj Al Arab.
I suggest you check the cost of big bus tour din and if you are planning to go inside attractions like Lego Land, Atlantis, IMG world, ferrari world and warner (Abu Dhabi).
I strongly encourage you sis, ang init dito tho walang polusyon at hindi nakakapangit sa balat pero mainit talaga, mahapdi so sayang ang travel nyo kung hndi nyo maexplore yung mga outside attractions.
Taxi is quite expensive din, some hotels they offer free shuttle. Also, if you want to go to Riverland/Legoland they have free shuttle along Sheikh Zayed Road,
