^^ and ^ it's actually Or Tor Kor Market. It's a farmer's market. You can have lunch or early dinner there if you want. That's one of our favorite haunts every time we're in BKK.

First time I've heard about Or Tor Kor market, so thanks for the additional info, mama squeak! Happy place ko kasi ang markets and supermarket/grocery stores whenever I'm in a foreign country. 

Btw, sis, Or Tor Kor market is open daily no? Not like Chatuchak na weekends lang?

^yup open daily. Our Bangkok visits are not complete without having lunch there. We get our fill of fresh juices and durian fruits at the market.

If you're into night markets, check out Rot Fai (the bigger one is in Srinakarin while the smaller one is in Ratchada), both are open from Thursday to Sunday. The most stalls would be set up on Friday to Sunday. While the sosyal version of Chatuchak would be Asiatique, open daily from 5pm to midnight. Easiest access would be via the Saphan Taksin ferry.

mga sis I'm going to thailand 2 weeks from now. may i ask how much cash should i bring for a 4 day trip? my hotel is booked already. I'm also bringing my credit card with me . i just figured i still need to bring some cash for riding tuk tuks, dining and shopping at markets that dont accept credit card. how much kaya? in my previous trips overseas i use to bring a lot of cash and nalulugi lang ako sa exchange rates sa money changer.

Thank you sis for helping me out.  I like Siam area sana and I've found one hotel that fits my budget, although maliit lang ang room - Ibis Bangkok Siam Hotel (<3k siya).  Has anyone of your tried this hotel? TIA!

^ I've seen the rooms at Ibis, but we usually stay at Mercure Hotel on the same building. The location of Ibis is very good. It's right across National Stadium BTS which is the end of the line, so the trains are usually empty. National Stadium is just 1 station away from Siam. It's also walking distance lang from MBK which is right across the street. It's also near a massage place, McDonald's and Tesco Lotus supermarket. There's also a 7/11 at the ground floor of Ibis -- very very convenient. Rooms are quite small but new and clean. Excellent choice!

mga sis pa help naman,
I plan to travel with my hubby and son this year end. dati he share a room with us ok lang, but now adult na siya 23yrs old na to be exact, do i need to get an extra room for him? or ok lang share a room with us, haven't travel altogether, medyo 5 years na, plan to take him to bkk sana.
anong recommendation ninyo?
normally in the past I usually stay sa executive floor pag i travel with hubby, para i dont need to attend to his snack needs incase I went to a meeting, and hubby likes to stay in the hotel resting lang.
pag travel he want to rest which hindi niya nagagawa if nasa manila kami.
now with my son joining us, another room or ?? extra bed? pati ako nalilito. normally pag i travel with my son share kami sa room and if he travel with dad share sila but now 3 kami sabay, 3 sa isang room?
sana share your inputs.

^depends on what kind of room you will be booking. Meron naman mga hotels with max 4 persons in a room which will have two queen beds. Or kung one bed lang yung room (usually a king), if you indicate na 3 persons will be staying the hotel will provide an extra foldable bed.

Thanks sis krabby_patty for the nice and thorough description of Ibis' location. We'll definitely choose this hotel as our accommodation in Bangkok.  Have you tried the massage place near it?  Was it good?  Thanks once again!

^agree with Ibis' location. If you're just after a cheap, clean, basic (no-frills) place to sleep okay ang Ibis. Just be prepared with a lot of tour groups mostly mainland Chinese tourists staying there. Magulo at maingay lang naman!

Im already done back reading and im quite overwhelmed na. Ang hrap tandaan lahat specially how to get there. Can you help me with our itinerary? Its my son's 6th bday kasi. Here are some of the tourist spots we'd like to visit;

Elephant/Crocodile show OR any zoo/safari

Other child friendly theme parks
Temples (least priority since we're after child friendly places)

If not too much, can you suggest hotel accommodations too? Eto yung mga nababasa ko; you can suggest other hotels too.

^ so so lang yung massage place near Ibis. Ibis/Mercure Hotel do not have a Spa but they have a tie up with LIT Hotel nearby (walking distance lang, it's in Soi Kasem San 1) - they can book a massage for you there. Quite pricey.. kasi hotel spa rate. Go ka nalang to Healthland. Nearest branch is in Asok BTS. Malapit sa may Terminal 21   Just call Healthland in advance to reserve a slot.

going back to bangkok this Sunday, my third time  

kaso itong mga kasama ko gusto na mag back out.  we got our package from Shadow travel.  we will be staying in Baiyoke Sky (my second time).  ang reason nitong mga kasama ko eh because of the recent bombings in the north of thailand.  tapos andyan ang rason na may zika virus na daw dun.  napiipikon na ako kasi ang dami daming rason na nakikita para ipa cancel ang trip.  kako it's a package tour, i don't think it would be easy to have it rebooked at change destination pa ha.

tama ba na ipa cancel na lang ang byahe namin?  nagbitiw na nga ako ng salita sa isa sa kanila na kung ayaw nila eh maski ako mag isa bya byahe papuntang bangkok
