is it ok to just take the airport link rather than taxi if 4 adults with 1 luggage each?
Looks like you're more than 100m away from both Ratchaprarop and Phaya Thai stations... Not sure kung may tuktuk na sa area nyo but I think it's better na mag-ARL kayo then tuktuk (otherwise kung keri nyo 10-15 mins walk on a 30+ degree-Celsius sunny weather ilakad nyo na lang) to hotel. Well, antay na lang tayo for more replies.
But seriously, I find it more convenient riding the train than the taxi. Mapili rin mga taxi drivers dito eh. And medyo matrapik din sa area na yan.
PS: Yeap, unbelievably, Ramkamhaeng doesn't have tuktuks! Kaya motosai (habal-habal) lang or taxi ang way of commute ko dito (even going to Hua Mak station) since di ko rin kabisado ang bus and songthaew routes LOL

And here's the list of the stuff I did on my Saturdays off (since pa-2 weeks-2 weeks lang ako dito on the course of 4 months, and of course Sundays are rest + simba days -- Believe it or not, may Simbahan dito sa Bangkok that celebrates Mass in Tagalog) before my project ends this Friday.
1st: Movie marathon @ The Mall. Dahil hindi ako familiar sa Bangkok way back and takot talaga ako lumayo from Ramkamhaeng area. Good thing may English subs ang mga Thai movies nila dito.
2nd: Ayutthaya. We rented a taxi here for 2k THB + 400 THB for gas and tip (I don't recommend these if you need a tour guide though, pero tipid sya if apat kayo, in fairness). If nakapunta na kayo sa Angkor Complex, Luang Prabang and/or Bagan and you have a day to spare, okay rin naman na mamasyal dito since may slight differences din ang mga temples kada country. Otherwise, kung pagod na talaga kayo makakita ng templo or medyo gahol kayo sa oras, I think you can skip this one.
3rd: Nagkasakit ako so pahinga mode. Short souvenir shopping at MBK Mall (Pratunam or JJ would be a better choice... If I felt better). Dito nyo makikita yung Starbucks Coffee na may katabing Star Back Cafe LOL.
4th: JJ weekend market + surrounding markets/malls in JJ. Dami finds dito! Dami rin pet supplies na mura. Dito na rin ako namili ng Christmas presents. Use sunscreen and wear a cap or something if gusto nyo libutin to the whole day.
5th: Gem/Semi-precious gem hunting along Silom Road. You have to have a good eye before buying gems here -- kahit sa mall wherein the AIGS is located, may mga fakes pa rin na binebenta. I had to go here, kinailangan ko rin kasi magpapalit ng dollars na may tatak at tupi (and banks don't accept those). Saglit lang rin ako lumabas nito kasi kailangan ko magtrabaho. You can find along Silom Road the fashion outlets -- Merong discounted Nike, Crocs, Lacoste, Delsey, Speedo, Triumph, Wacoal, etc. dito (parang yung mga outlets sa Sta. Rosa). Malapit din sa area ang Patpong.
6th: Kanchanaburi. Ayoko na mahassle (dahil sobrang ngarag din ako sa work) so naghunt ako ng murang tour agency and nag-avail na ako ng package tour nung nasa Silom ako. Sobrang sulit for 1.6k THB/pax for a day trip (nagsimula kami magbiyahe around 8am, nakauwi kami 10pm) -- there's more to it than River Kwai and hindi touristy yung lugar haha. Puro Caucasians mga kasama ko, I don't really know why. Nagsisi nga lang ako at hindi ko kinuha yung package na may Erawan falls (although maganda rin ang Sai Yok Noi falls in fairness).
Haha, the next time I'll be here, it'll be on a personal trip. I'm gonna tour the Bangkok temples or go to Siam Niramit or watch a cabaret show for sure pagbalik ko dito. Or maybe Chiang Mai. Or Pattaya. Abang mode ng promo fare. Hahahaha.
