Well, what can you do if hindi house-broken ng MIL mo ang husband mo.
Our brothers are like that - mga Senyorito pinalaking spoiled ng mom namin. Lalaki daw kasi. Susko.
We sisters say: mga inutil sa house. Mga spoiled kasi they prioritize their vices/sports when not working:
Poker, golf, racing.
What do I say to my sisters-in-law? Suck it up. Do not nag, you will age faster. If you can't take it, save yourself -- leave.
Well, natitiis naman nila mga spoiled ways ng husbands nila -- until our brothers become serial philanderers. So ayon ang score: all brothers either annulled or separated or abandoned.
So, next -- the mistresses complain. I say the same thing -- suck it up or leave. Wala ng magagawa, they will not reform. Really -- they stay on! Maybe the money is good, so go suck it up.
What would I tell a BFF not married to my brother though?
1st, SIMPLIFY your life together. Less to clean, maintain, preserve, replace equals less arguments.
Do not get a house bigger than your barest minimum area requirement.
Possess only what you need. Live as simply as the typical Japanese do.
2nd, FUNCTION over aesthetics.
For example, if you have no helper & you both work & he won't even wash the dishes -- paper plates & cups na lang.
3rd, ACCEPT him for what he is. Kung kina usap mo na, nag-usap na kayo, na remind mo na, may deal na kayo -- and he backslides to his being unhelpful, a slob, indifferent or neglectful -- what can you do? Nagging/ threatening/getting mad or sarcastic will not get you the results you want. You will just age earlier. Ask yourself instead if you can stand his ways for the next 20 years. If ayaw mo -- do something.
Now, if you decide to grow old with him inspite of what you perceive as deficiencies -- personal na yan kasi what you can tolerate or not -- FIND WAYS to get what you want.
Obviously, a helper to clear/clean up will satisfy your husband who won't lift a finger & you who wants things orderly.
If you can't afford or want a stay-in, outsource the heavy chores.
IMO, mas ok in the long run na make more money to get domestic help kesa maghatakan ang mag asawa.
And when you have kids -- train all your kids to be like orderly, masipag you. Be strict in training them to be organized people. Otherwise, haynaku triple dusa mo lalo na pagtanda mo with all your aches and pains.
