^ hi sis. for me, hindi naman "must have" ang save the date. this is basically advanced notice that you're getting married in 5-6 months time. then to follow ang formal invi 2-3 months before actual event.

^^ emdchua, it is not a "must have" naman, nor a requirement.  But it is a nice gesture. Especially if you've got guests who are coming from overseas, and most of your guests are working.  It's like a semi- partial invite and reminder for guests to book their holidays or annual leaves earlier.  Hindi kasi lahat kayang mag leave on a short notice.  If you have given them Save The Dates, then it is like an informal way of telling them that they are invited and to please take note of the date, and to request it immediately.  If they requested early, then they will also be able to inform you early if they can attend or not.

Hi sisses! Newbie here. I have been backreading and correct me if I'm wrong but I have not read any recommendations for candid and vintage style for photographers. H2B and I are not so much into the posey shots because it's just not our personality. We're not even considering having an engagement shoot. We are also torn between hiring a videographer or just sticking to photographs only. Not so much into the SDE. Also because we are just planning to have a garden civil wedding. Can anyone suggest photographers with a candid and vintage style? Also if we eventually decide on getting a videographer for documentary purposes only, can you suggest suppliers for this too with a similar candid and vintage style?

i think majority of P/Vs can do your requested style naman as long as you inform them. Magkakaiba na lang yan sa originality and concept like yung sa colors and elements.

I would suggest you ask your p/v supplier to show your save the date a month before your wedding date para di matabunan sa to-do-list ng mga guests mo. Para din di mawala momentum ng event mo. 

Mga tips yan na nakuha ko sa mga friends ko na kinasal na.

Hi sis! You can check my P/V team. I got married last May and we have received our final output 2 weeks ago. They are very flexible and marunong sumunod sa instructions. Ako kasi nung wedding ko, ang kabilin-bilin ko is wag masyado posey lalo na sa video, and gawing mature ang mga shots. I like how they worked in my wedding. Plus factor pa na they can customize package and mabilis sa turn-over. BTW, Peekxel ang p/v team ko.

Ilang lumens ba ang usually na kailangan ng photo/video sa projector ?

sis, usually ok na yung 3000 na lumens for projector. pero depende din kase sa time ng reception nyo. the higher the lumens, the clearer & brighter the images. pag sa gabi ang reception kahit di naman sobrang taas kase pwede namang isara yung lights pero pag morning to afternoon reception, you might need something higher para di masapawan ng natural light yung projector.
for us, gabi yung reception namin and we only had a 2500 lumens projector. napanood naman ng maayos ng guests yung avp & sde. it could've been clearer kung kumuha kame ng ibang supplier pero we didn't want to spend on that na.

siguro sis try to set a budget muna on how much you're willing to spend on your p/v supplier then saka kayo mag-sort ng pasok sa styles na preferred nyo. kase there are some na similar styles ang output pero magkakaiba ang price range depende kung gano na sila katagal or ka-established na sa business.
and usually naman regardless kung mahilig kayo sa posey shots or sa candid shots, kung magaling talaga yung photographer nyo, he/she will be able to capture your personalities. pero syempre malaking part pa rin yung rapport nyo with your photographer so once you've shortlisted suppliers, try to meet with all of them para ma-feel nyo din kung magiging komportable kayong katrabaho sila.

@twinxz Thank you sis for the suggestion. Pwede pala mag request ng ganyan sa P/V suppliers? I was under the impression na hindi pwede dahil baka ma offend sila. Kasi artistic style nila is a certain way tapos pag nag request ka na huwag masyadong posey or kung mas candid ang type namin na shots baka hindi jive sa style nila.

Sis @f878 you are right. Important talaga ang rapport especially for a major supplier like P/V. I would not want to end up wth photos na hindi bagay sa personality namin ni H2B.

^Dinner outdoor garden reception kami but booked 5k lumens for our projector. Haha! Too much yata but I think ok na din since I had my videographer's approval prior to booking.

No worries sis! Our p/v during meeting kasi nag ask din kung ano peg namin. from there, they'd have an idea na what type of shots ang expected nyo sa kanila

congrats gelitorres and rain dear! you are in good hands with gail! til now i still can't choose photos for our official wedding album. if i could just have all 1700 photos taken during our wedding printed as an album, gagawin ko! lahat ang ganda kase!!!

altheabride, aside from the venue, it depends din on your headcount. we had around 250+ pax at glass garden and i booked a 5000 ansi lumens projector as suggested by ghe consolacion, our videographer.
