Yeah, but they trusted her to make all the payments. I know this is part of the coordinator's job and that overseas couples are paying for their convenience. However, it's really hard to trust somebody you barely know to pay all your suppliers for you. In our case, we really tried to meet all our suppliers in their respective offices, especially those where we had to spend a huge amount of money. We also asked for face-to-face meetings kasi who knows what can happen. For overseas couples, you can still ask for an online meeting so you get to know each of your suppliers as well.

It is also good to pay using checks para may document trail and you have to name the supplier when making the payment. It's an added security for the couple.

That's true. And kakatuwa how he tried to keep his wife out of the loop so she won't get stressed. i really admire him for that.

Don't get me wrong ladies. I'm NOT blaming the couple. I just shared my two cents so couples would be more wary and less trusting. I know you have to trust your suppliers to a certain extent, but you also have to make sure that you are protected. After all, it is your big day, and you are paying hard earned money to celebrate this once in a lifetime event.

I hope when they get all their money back, and settled na the whole situation, they can get married again.

I wish that the couple may also be able to move on from this and enjoy their beautiful union. Such a sad and stressful situation :(

Another comment I read na convo ng husband to one of their friends:

"Masakit for Karen ang nagcicirculate. Haharapin namin ang obligasyon. Desperado na siya because of the post. May lawyer ang couple, kausap ko na. May meeting kami next week. Kaya nagulat ako at pinost yun. Gulong gulo na utak ni karen to the point that she is contemplating on taking her life. I went to the wedding to face them. To pay the suppliers, may mga di nadeliver kaya imimeet ang lawyer. Naaawa ako kay Karen at sa anak ko. Na scam si Karen and hindi nabayaran mga supplier for the particular wedding. Out of desperation nakapagpagawa siya ng contract na kunwari na-settle na ang suppliers. I went to the wedding to settle most of them."
I also read something about investment, blah blah.
Na-scam si Karen? What exactly does that mean? Does it mean that the money meant to be used to pay for the suppliers were invested? And were lost in that so-called investment?

I can't be too sorry for Karen, who chose to deceive the people who trusted her with an important event. I feel sorry for the couple who were betrayed.

In the first place, why invest the money na hindi naman sa kanya? Hayyy! I've been following a thread sa facebook regarding sa issue, and feeling ng mga commenters don, hindi talaga si husband ang nag eexplain kundi si Karen mismo pretending to be the husband. And now, deactivated na din ang facebook ni husband. Sobrang nakakainis lang and nakakaawa yung couple.

Oh dear, i saw this post awhile ago sa page ng the Wedding tips and sa page ng Imbitado events. As an overseas bride, I can't help but worry about the legitimacy of my suppliers. As I was the one who booked them.  Grabe.  Reading the posts here about the husband's pleas. Ang sa akin lang, by basing it according to the forged contracts, if those documents showed that all suppliers were paid way before the wedding then this has been premeditated. She knew she was scamming the couple. Why invest others hard earned money when she has her own.  If she had already lost the investment, why be greedy and get others money. Yes, probably na swindle man ang asawa nya, in the end, Karren still chose to go and decided to do the wrong.

Sa experience nyo in meeting with your prospect coordinators, ano usually yung kelangan ko ma take note para i ask sa kanila?  Thanks so much sa mga magsheshare.

So sad. If she should have faced the couple before the event explaining everything then she should not be the one facing the consequence now, tsk tsk, of all events, eto pa..

And oh salute to the groom, clap clap clap. May God bless the couple more. :)

Where is Karen in all this mess? Since siya ang coord, isn't it fitting na siya ang mag-address ng issues? Puro ang husband niya ang nakikita kong nagcocomment eh. She can't even face the consequences of her actions :(

been following some threads about this hot issue and here is an "official" statement from karen posted in one of the comments:

Official Statement of Karen Favis-Carlos, Glamworks Events Management

It is with regret that the Wedding of Jemerson Mamaril and Erin Santos last July 18, 2015 at Fernbrook Gardens, Daang Hari, Muntinlupa City did not go smoothly as it should be. My husband, Perry Carlos III, went to the event to personally see to it that the wedding, though not perfect, will push through as scheduled.

Majority of the suppliers were paid and settled on the night of the event, some were issued checks (that were cleared, suppliers can attest to this) to cover for their corresponding payments. I will forever regret the lapses that I may have committed, as it affected a lot of people.

The recent Facebook post as well as the number of shares, likes, reposts, as well as the bashers who, unfortunately, included my whole family, affected us deeply. Dragging my family into this mess was uncalled for, as we are already in touch with the couple’s lawyer since the evening of the event. We are also looking into seeking assistance with the Anti Cyber-Bullying task force to see if something can be done about the malicious comments that arose from the post, given the fact that there was a photograph of my whole family with my then 1 ½ year old daughter in it. I am not convicted of any crime, nor am I running away from any authorities. I am seeking for the kind understanding of everyone to at least, give me a chance to straighten things out. I have been in the Wedding Industry since 2010 handling over 100 couples. I am not a serial scammer, a fly-by-night Coordinator nor a thief. We look forward to settling this legally, without having to ruin my name and my family. Please spare some thought for my family, most especially my 3 year old daughter who is starting to understand what is going on in our household. It pains me so much to see her suffering due to the fact that I haven’t been tending to her the way I do.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank people who saw best not to comment nor repost. That small act means a lot to us. Please continue to pray for us as we try our best to pick up the pieces. Finally, I would like to apologize to the couple for the pain this has caused. I understand that I may not gain your sympathy, but please know, from the bottom of my heart, that I am truly sorry for what happened.

God Bless everyone and thank you for taking the time to read this.

What a BS non-apology. The lapses she may have committed? I can't believe she's crying "cyber-bullies". If she was so concerned about her daughter maybe she could've tried not stealing other people's money.

^^part of the consequences is for her to deal with all the nega comments and bashing sa social media. sorry pero after reading her statement, the more ako nainis. i cringed when her kid was mentioned. you don't use your child as a shield pang-guilt trip sa mga nagnenega comment dahil sa ginawa mo. i don't think anyone is in their right mind para mandamay ng bata. she should've thought of her kid and family before she intentionally deceived the couple with all those fake receipts and contracts. worse, she even had someone pretend to be teddy manuel's assistant and face the couple to make the booking look legit. geez. laging ganto kasi nagiging trend pag may mga gumagawa ng kabulastugan. kesyo wag na idamay pamilya, blahblah, nakakalimutan na tuloy sino ba talaga ang victim. they can't say na wag tayo makialam kasi because of what happened, andami nang nappraning tuloy sa mga existing wedding planners nila. perfect example is my cousin who plans to avail of a full planning for her wedding next year. nagkakaroon tuloy sya ng hesitation ngayon to push through kahit na reputable naman yung nirecommend namin. mag otd na lang daw kaya sya and it looks like ako na lang tuloy hehelp sa kanya eh i can't kasi alam ko very tedious mangulit ng suppliers. one experience is enough waaaa. from what i saw, the only reason baket nasama sa mga napost na photos yung family picture nila is because di sya mahagilap nung una so people wanted to speed up the process. so sad talaga inabot ng couple na to. it made me even be more grateful na we didn't experience this in our wedding.

Just read the whole story in FP, while reading the groom's post you can really feel the pain. This is very alarming especially to those engaged couples na nagp-plan pa lang for their wedding. I can't imagine their pain while hearing the news that their trusted coordinator stole their money. She's so heartless. :( Sana before she ask for anti cyber bullying, or protection for her family, naisip niya in the first place na it's part of all the consequences na ginawa niya. Sana hinarap niya na lang before the wedding. Hay. :(

I couldn't agree more with sis sevenstars & sis avane.  The nerve to cry cyber bullies and use her daughter as a shield.  The more na nainis ako sa kanya.  It's as if she's trying to turn the tables by saying that she was also a victim.  No amount of explanation can justify what she did.  Ang pera kayang kitain, kayang ibalik or bayaran (if ever babayaran nga niya) but you can never bring back a wasted moment that's meant to be the happiest day of the couples' lives.  Nakakagigil lang.
