Hi Sis! Wala namang limit ang renewal, hanggat iaapprove ng gov't sis pwede. So long as nasusunod yung minimum amount at quota sa mga banyaga, walang problema. Ratio ngayon ay 4 locals = 1 foreigner. Pahigpit ng pahigpit.

Pagkakaalala ko it has been that way since the last GE. I could be blur on the specifics pero that was the norm since I was last there. Surprisingly, kahit yung ibang pinoy na nakausap ko back here in pinas na nagbabalak din mag SG have heard about the 1:4 ratio as well. Yung renewals oo tama naman na hindi problema yan basta merong sufficient number of locals.

Ang unsure ako kung yung dependency ratio accounts for the entire organization of a company or per division. And knowing SG, baka marami na ring nabago sa dependency ratio ng foreigner since then.

Ratio is 4:1 or 80% locals and 20% foreigners ang requirement in general. Pero yung mga construction companies, iba yung dependency ratio ceiling. Mas higher yung sa need ng foreigner.

Yearly ang changes nila dito, I think may bago na naman this July 2015.

^yup, naalala ko yung 4:1 (or 1:4) na yan for the services sector, construction is 1:7 (7:1)  sorry naman tagal na since last ako nandyan eh so i kenna blur leh

Same boat. I'm thinking of moving back to Manila this year and stay there for 3 yrs tops. Pero we'll see. Gusto ko magpahinga. Truth is, wala talagang work-life balance where I am now. Panay ka lang work and chores. Yes, may vacation pero you will realize that the balance needs to exist everyday or at least every week, hindi lang yung kayod kalabaw ka for most of the year tapos sa loob ng isang taon, 2 weeks ka lang masaya. Thats not balance. Inday na inday ang feels.

Maybe it won't work out but you know what? Sometimes even the wrong decisions are right. Kasi wala naman talagang wrong decisions. Kelangan lang is realistic ka & you approach the trajectory of life like it's a swinging, swirling, curved line. No expectations na magiging maayos agad lahat. Howell. Better make sure that there is a secured job here in PH prior to resigning to your current job. Napakahirap humanap ng work sa Pinas ngayon hence don't risk your current job. Tiis tiis ng konti until may mahanap na kapalit.

Hi sis Iammandee I stayed in SG din for while - I studied uni there din kasi, finished my bachelors then joined their workforce shortly after. Umuwi nako 2 years ago and never looked back  My current pay is not far from what I used to get in SG. But hindi ganito agad, my first job paguwi ko paid really low. Tiyaga lang talaga and I kept praying and eventually got hired by my company now, aside from the salary and benefits they also threw in free lunch and free parking everyday:) So yes, possible to get a salary na sapat for you and your family.

Majority of those who went home after working abroad and made it works in the IT industry. Ang Pinas naman this is our home, kung matiyaga ka aside from your current job puwede rumaket raket. I agree with the sisters here na you can also explore the option of becoming an entrepreneur or siguro while you're still there get your family's help to set up a business... thats what my friend is trying to do may set date na siya ng paguwi from SG. Tiis lang tayo abroad, one day makakasama din natin mga junakis natin :-)

Dalasan mo na lang uwi pag me promo airlines.

Nun bakasyon ng mga kids, pinagbakayon ko 1 month anak ko together with my nieces pra me titingin sa kanya while I'm in the office.

Then pag holiday here in singapore uwi din ako kahit 3 days. For me malaking bagay na na makasama ko baby ko even if it is only 3 or 4 days a month.

I can share my own experience. I have worked in UAE for almost 9yrs. I just came back on March 29, 2015. I thought it was easy to land a job here because I have more than 20 years on experience in Accounting. I was already holding a Chief Financial Officer position so I thought there are a lot of opportunities for me, but I was wrong. I started sending applications even i was still in Dubai and i think I have applied for more than 300 job ads in 3 months time. I got interviews naman pero sobrang baba ng salary not even half of my requirements. I have 3 children nasa college na ang dalawa. So mahirap mabakante o mawalan ng income. I tried accepting part time jobs, virtual accounting job, and I also do tutorials for make up and photography/photoshop. In short nauubos na savings ko but because of some part time job nakakasurvive naman ako. But what I am trying to point out here is.. kapag balikbayan ka, hindi madaling mag simula ulit, kahit pa marami kang experience. My advice is save some money habang nandyan ka pa and prepare for the transition period para di ka maubusan ng fund. Let say 3 to 4 months budget habang naghahanap ka pa ng work.
Now, i found some opportunities that I could work from home or freelancing.. I can see a future on this new career.. okay lang magbalik ka na you just need a little preparation.  Marami naman opportunities kailangan lang din ng diskarte.

You're right sis! Sa ngayon, nagiipon na talaga ako. Ang hirap kasi sis magipon. Lalo na may mga urgent expenses sa pinas, no choice but to send money to pay it. But now, ensure ko ng walang magagalaw sa acct na pinagssave-ban ko ngayon. Maliit man ang nasimulan, talagang ill try my best na malagyan yung monthly

If you have the right skill set and you already have the experience, I guess you have the possibility to land a job with a good salary. it may not be as high as what you used to get abroad, but I guess enough for you to have your kid's and brother education running, plus your parents need na rin. Just do what you think is right
