For K by C brides na nakapag FT na how is their food?

My wedding is in 2weeks and my caterer cancelled our contract. Im stressed at rush FTs now

Naku, sis. Can you still opt out? We had the same problem with Josiah's very early on in our prep. Our AE was Zild Pepito. We ended up asking for another AE na mas responsive sa amin. We changed AE again 2 months before the wedding kasi nag-quit yung pumalit. Pero sa simula pa lang, we should have taken it as a sign na. I will NEVER BOOK JOSIAH'S AGAIN. The food that they served at our reception was COLD. Both VIP tables did NOT eat the food kasi bukod sa malamig na nga yung food, ang concept nila ng "Russian service" is to put everything in one plate na parang kanin baboy. The only thing that my VIPs ate was the caesar salad kasi yun lang talaga ang natiis nila.

For reference, I just got married last month and my AE was Onie Bargola.

Sis I was talking to my AE and it seems like Josiah's has never received any bad feedback from previous brides. I even told her madami ako nalalaman na bad feedback so I need reassurance since almost paid na kami

My friend and her hubby also got Josiah's for their wedding 3 years ago. I don't know if their experience was as bad as mine (can't remember even if I was there, so yun siguro - not memorable yung food) but they said they were also not satisfied with Josiah's. Walang feedback siguro because brides just want to move on with their happily ever after, like me. But I will swear off Josiah's forever and do my best to tell the truth to others.

Hi Sis shyxiena, we went to the FT at the bridal fair in Megamall last month. Fiancée and I got 2 different servings of each component. We had nice soups, cream of pumpkin with truffle and another cream-based soup. Rosemary chicken thing was also good, the other chicken was like chicken pizza? That tasted very odd.  Pork was roast pork with prunes and walnuts and Korean BBQ spareribs I think. But they never served the latter. They said it was still being cooked but never came. Only comment about the pork was that we didn't see any walnuts. Fish was good, although I can't remember for the life of me what the dish was. They were also supposed to have served salmon with tequila cream sauce but again, it never came.

All in all, even if there were a few misses, it was miles ahead in terms of taste from Center Table. In terms of styling we were impressed.  Their setup at that time was very nice for me, sort of bohemian chic. I asked the AE and she said it was upgraded styling, but the rates she quoted for the upgrades seemed reasonable.

I just didn't like it that they were a bit pushy for us to book during the bridal fair because of the freebies. Personally, I'm willing to forego freebies as long as I'm confident in my choice. I don't want to make an impulse decision because of the freebies given, and then regret my decision later.

^Hi sis shopaholic, yeah they are pushy noh? dun ako naturn off ng bongga, they are telling to lock in the price for 2016 and get the freeebies, I need to sign the contract na, they even asked me to just pay 2k and to follow nalang yung the rest of the downpayment just sign the contract... awww

yes true sis! Sabi din sa akin na price lock na din then after a month na nagbook ko sakanila sinabi nila sa akin since June 2017 hindi daw pala ako abot sa price lock at from May 2017 my 5% na pagtaas pa.
Pero for styling included na daw sa akin yung upgrade styling so kahit anong style na gusto ko kasama na daw.
Pero syempre mahal na nga yung Menu B nila with prawns tapos nadagdagan pa 5% kaya eto pinagiisipan ko ng mabuti if mag let go at kumuha ng cater na proven na mas masarap at mas makakasave kami kahit iletgo namin booking namin with Juan Carlo. Nadala kasi ko sa freebies din nila kasi dami nila inoffer pero later ko nalang nabasa na  na reviews na hindi ganun ka satisfied.

^If may doubt ka let go na lang sis 10k lang naman na down mo. pero baka masarap naman yung Menu B nila since Mas Mahal! ako non nag doubt sa florist ko sabi ng husband ko kesa mag isip ako ilet go ki na kuha ako ng bago ayun ok naman.

^hi sis, mag FT ka pa, may mas very good pa po kesa sa kanila na mas sulit ang presyo... for me, mahal sila dahil hindi worth it, hindi ko maubos yung mga sinerve sakin na small servings... if ganun din ang mangyayari sa wedding, malulungkot talaga ako

Amuse bouche: mushroom duxelles, roast pork tartlets with hoisin sauce, tapas board + one more.

Soup: cream of mushroom soup with truffle oil

Salad: mesclun salad with prosciutto

Pasta: linguine with truffle cream sauce and one other pasta with red sauce (haven't decided) served on a giant wheel of parmesan

Fish: fish in lemon butter and capers

Chicken: slow roast Rosemary chicken with gravy

Pork: Lechon belly roast and regular lechon

Beef: roasted house-cured corned beef served with pommery mustard and horseradish and
   Kitayama wagyu steak, on-the-spot cooking.

Sides: sautéed Green beans and carrots + one potato dish (either mashed potatoes or potato gratin)

Rice: paella valenciana and white rice

Dessert: chocolate caramel gateaux, vanilla creme brûlée, salted butter caramel cream puffs, 2 kinds of gelato + one more dessert.

Mga sis, I have a problem with my caterer. I emailed her last feb. 29 that I wanted to see some pictures of the thematic backdrop that they will set-up sa wedding namin. 15 days later nag-reply siya telling me na yung pegs daw na sinend ko needs a stylist to execute it. nagulat ako kasi before namin sya binooked ni h2b pinag-usapan na namin yung theme and styling. (even sending her the same pegs na binigay ko last feb.29, so parang ni-resend ko lang) sabi niya okay daw sa kanya yung theme and pegs na pinakita ko. I clarified na not necessarily na puno ng details just enough lang na makita yung theme na shabby chic. sabi niya okay daw kasi event stylist din siya before naging full time sa pagcacater and she will also supervise sa wedding day ko para tama ang ma-execute ng staff niya. sinabi pa nya na malaki daw ang backdrop nila compared sa ibang caterers. syempre natuwa ako kaya we booked her after namin mag-FT. sabi nya we will meet again daw 1month before the wedding para makapili ako ng gagamiting linens, at makita ko ang mock setup ng table and backdrop. pumayag naman ako.

last feb. mayroon akong nabasa na nagshare ng experience nila na iba daw sa pinagusapan ang actual set-up na ginawa at nagulat na lang yung couple pagkakita ng backdrop nila na walang kabuhay-buhay. kung alam lang daw sana nila na ganun ang set up sana naghire sila ng stylist or nagdagdag ng decor kaya naman naisipan kong mag-ask ng pictures ng magiging backdrop namin. Nagulat ako sa reply ng caterer na yung request ko is  possible daw but would require additional charges as it entails a stylist requirement. If I want daw she will set-up an appointment with her stylist affiliate to get a full idea of my reception area details. So parang nagulat ako kasi pinaka-mahal na package or elegant package na yung kinuha ko sa kanila. they have basic and elegant package. I'm not saying na dapat super ganda or elegant na ng styling kasi hindi naman din ako after sa bonggang set-up dahil alam kong may stylist na behind that. parang ang akin lang is you get what you paid for sana. hindi niya rin sinabi na may upgrade styling silang offer. ang sabi niya sa akin, possible yung pegs ko.

Nung tinawagan ko siya, dun ko nalaman na best friend pala ni caterer yung stylist na irerecommend nya at from 100k down to 50k nalang daw ang charge sa akin. ayoko mag-isip ng masama pero 100k styling para sa hindi pa established masyado na stylist ay too steep for me. sabi pa nya nakatipid pa daw ako ng malaki dahil same execution lang sa mga ibang clients na nagbayad ng regular rate sa stylist na yon. Ayokong mag-isip ng masama pero parang may hindi tama.

sinabi ko sa caterer kung pwede ko ba munang makita ang sample backdrop set-up and style namin sa wedding day. sabi niya give ko daw siya ng two weeks.

haaaay, ano ba magandang gawin mga sis? I'm planning to give her a chance and wait ng 2weeks to see if super bare ba yung set-up or if get my money's worth na. or move on na kasi malabo kausap?

Kung malapit na wedding mo at di mo na kaya maglet go ng down payment, ask for a photo of her basic styling ng backdrop. From there, hanap ka sa net ng peg mo at i-diy mo na lang yung ibang items to add for your backdrop. If you don't mind, can you share with us the name of your caterer?
