Hi! we are down to choosing between 2 stylists on our big day: Gary of Mindworks Production OR Serge Igonia. Both are accomodating and have very good outputs so far sa social media posts nila; reviews are also positive (atleast sa nababasa namin sa forums). Pricing nila are also good and both are close range of each other. any opinions and recos for our final consideration? who would you recommend? would love to hear from those who have inquired or booked them before! super hard mag decide and we gave ourselves a deadline na this month to finalize. thanks in adv

Hi good to be back with GT, came back from our vacation to PH, syempre ang dami problema dala pagbalik, anyway i wanted to ask for your help cause im confused and torned. I will make this story as short as possible. Anyway im supposed to meet Gary of Mindworks last sunday. When i arrived PH tinext ko siya ng friday or saturday ata to confirm on our meeting to discuss sana on the church styling btw church and ento flower lang binook ko sa kanya and nagdown nako ng 14K and but i have informed him just incase di kaya ni k by c yung pegs namin for the reception iopen ko sa kanya unfortunately sa January pa ako makakapagfinalize and nagagree naman siya if may additional okay siyang gawin. So last friday/ saturday tinext ko siya to confirm our meeting in our hometown which is nearer for him to meet (not in manila) He didnt reply yet kasi busy daw siya sa undas doing flowers kasi may flower shop daw siya dun. Then i followed up kasi nga im based overseas so yun nalang yung time ko to meet him, he then replied na "mam church and ento lang ba talaga kukunin mo?" from that parang medyo napissed ako kasi parang usapan na namin magmeet kami kaso parang nagaalangan siya dahil church and ento lang kukunin ko. So again i mentioned to him baka drapes lang pero gusto ko sana idiscuss in person for me to explain my pegs . So he didnt reply na so dahil ayoko na mahassle i told him i will meet him up next time nalang dahil busy siya. Dahil nga may business siyang flower shop i ordered two floral arrangement for my mom in law (orchids)and lola(roses). I told him to deliver at hubby's house around 3:30 on the 31st dahil i need to travel the other flowers sa bahay namin(same province lang kami ng bahay ni hubby)Come 4:30 di daw nadeliver flowers sabi ni hubby cause im at the dentist appointment pa. Natapos na ako sa dentist appointment ko di parin dumating so i called him and he told me na mam mamayang gabi pa dating ng roses. So i told him nevermind kung wala roses orchids nalng kung ano meron siya. So he said idedeliver nalng daw kaso dahil magagabi na sabi ko pickupin ko nalang sa shop niya. So dinayo namin yung shop niya kasi nga sobrang late na lahat, We arrived at their shop walang tao yun pala magagaling sa mas malayong shop yung flowers so we waited around 20 mins. When the flowers arrived medyo malayo yung arrangement from what i expected.

So i messaged him na im quite dissapointed with the service na sana hindi manyari sa wedding namin yung hassle (i mean magpick up ng flowers or not on time) this is a very small transaction. Hindi ko alam if nagover react ako or tama ba yung reaction ko. But then he replied to me, mam baka di kayo aware sa presyo ng undas flowers , i suggest to cancel the contract yun ang reply niya and he will send back all the reservation to me.

I know prices are different pero para sa akin iba yung commitment mo wheater small or big transaction you must deliver. What do you think mga sis?

I really dont know how will i react medyo nashock lang din ako.

^ grabe sis!!!! I feel you!!!! Nakakagalit Parang di ko ma-take as in. I don't know him sa totoo lang pero SCARY sya ka-work. Kahit small transaction lang yun napaka importante nun kasi ibibigay mo yung flowers and kung tutuusin easier yun compared sa styling ha! Pero dun palang he failed miserably! Tsaka bakit ganun sya makipag usap sayo? Walang empathy sa clients? Paano sya tatagal nyan sa industry kung ngayon pa lang eh pumapalya na sya. Nakakalungkot kasi nabasa ko kung gaano ka ka-excited to avail his services! Sis you don't deserve this kind of hassle after everything you went through Madami pang ok na kaya mag deliver na di man responsive yung iba pero alam mo na magdedeliver at di ka madidisappoint ng ganyan. Good thing na lang at nakilala mo sya before ang wedding mo.

Nalulungkot din ako ng sobra, I even mentioned to him nirefer ko pa naman siya sa gt kasi from same province kami pero to my dismay ganun nga yung nangyari. I havent replied yet message regarding the cancellation. Im taking time to absorb things pero sobrang nakakalumo lang. Sabi ni hubby maghanap na nga lang daw ng ibang stylist na makakaacommodate samin ng maayos hindi yung ganun yung treatment. Ayoko din irisk na maging ganun.

^^lots-o, sad to hear your story sis I was eyeing him before pa naman. And ang ganda nga ng mga reception styling nya. But of course, dapat he still maintained professionalism kahit sobrang busy nya. And the way I read it sa kwento mo, medyo rude nga sya. To think na napakasimple ng inavail mo sa kanya (an arranged bouquet), he should've delivered what is expected from him. Think it over sis, you can still find other stylist who can treat his customer better.

^lots-o waaahhh! Natakot naman ako sis, kasi I just booked him last week. Kasi nirecommend dito sa GT, sa tagal ko naghanap ng stylist, pinili ko sya, naku sana hindi naman mangyari yan sa wedding. Anyways, I messaged him last Nov 1, sabi nga nya busy sya eemail nya pagbalik, the following day nya na naemail yung request ko. Pero hindi naman ganyan kalala. I feel bad for you, bakit naman sya ganun makipagusap..

Thanks mga sis, yesterday i got my refund na, maybe its not really meant to be and its not really worth the stress ayoko irisk din to push thru with him. Atleast maaga pa lang i know what to expect, moving on anyway now im waiting for the quote of other suppliers. I initally got quotes from amante , badang and waiting for quote from teddy and jo claraval (i hope pumayag nga lang sila na reception palang macocomit ko na kunin)eto nalang kasi pending ko so might as well dun na talaga sa credible willing naman ako to extend until 50K for the ceremony. As for the reception talaga sobrang clean and simple lang nung gusto namin and kaya na ipull off feeling ko ni kbyc kasi minimal and organic lang theme namin, with their new branding parang halos ganun nasa 3K per topiary ata charge nya with imported flowers na and ayoko na mastress. Parang lahat ng naencounter ko na stylist scenta and Gary medyo parehas sila ng customer service level so parang natrauma na ako.

Sorry to hear about what happened. Pero I think mabuti na that you saw yung unprofessionalism nya before pa the actual wedding and at least he returned the deposit.

Kainis talaga mga supplier na ganyan very rude and inconsiderate.

One of the suppliers I met, event stylist din, was like this. We were supposed to meet in the afternoon so we were  could not make plans in case he arrives. He arrived at our hotel at 9:30pm - naka pyjamas na ako nun nag meeting kami kasi matutulog na dapat ako. Sabi nya nasiraan daw sila ng kotse but di man lang sya nag text. I did not get him. I went with the more expensive supplier who was nice enough to meet us at 7:30am even though he was busy preparing for another event.

i agree sis lilaflower, never ko talaga inexpect na mangyari yun sana in the first place sana  di nalang siya pumayag. Sabi ko pa nga nirefer ko pa naman siya sa girl talk. Wala narin kami suppllier na ganun most of our suppliers are mababait naman so sobrang ingat narin ako magbook ngaun.

Minsan pera pera nalng din talaga pero marami parin matinong supplier yun siguro yung mga talagang tumagal na sa industry.

this is very disappointing. kung ano ang napili natin, whatever is agreed, should be delivered. kaya ka nga may specifics e.
ang event stylist ang isa sa mga pinakauna naming binook since May (Feb 2017 wedding kmi) [textspeak!] feeling ko maraming back and forth ito at as myself and my husband are very particular with the details, the right supplier should be booked at maigi yung nagkakaintindihan kami.
Naginquire ako before with Jo Claraval, SJ Events at Robert Blancaflor for a minimalistic look lang. We both are not fans of too much flowers - so not us... we chose TeamBa Designs instead. Production design ang background nila which suits our requirements. They can go flowery naman but we just have a different preference.
What i like about them is they are very professional. when they say, in 2 weeks we will send you a proposal, and they will give you a proper one - mood board, pegs, layouts. prior to proposal nag ocular sila sa venue nmin at gmwa sila ng 3d or 4d layout of the whole place para mapicture mo talaga what will go to where. as in parang you are there. Kung hindi kaya, they will ask you and tell you they need another day or two. here is a snippet from their initial proposal

they can work around your budget naman and after all has been agreed and reviewed - contracts and cost estimates, pinapanotaryo pa nila kya we wont go through it thoroughly. So far happy naman ako. On the 22nd we are meeting them for a mock set up

Sis lots-o tama hanap ka na lang ng new supplier kasi I'm sure yung mga options mo kayang-kaya nila yung gusto mo ng walang kasamang stress. Kaya smile ka na sis. After reading all your posts re: preps alam ko kasi mga pinagdaanan mo kaya talagang di mo deserve yang ganyan! You should be a happy bride Naniniwala din ako na kaya ni KbyC ang gusto mong reception styling. Magaling naman sila talaga sa styling kaya madami din ako kilala na brides na di na kumukuha ng ibang stylist pag sila caterer!

Sis rowan, ang naalala ko nalng ay after booking wala talaga courtesy to reply on my emails mga 4 months nalng before wedding nagsend ako ng final pegs pero wala talga reply. Kaya nung napostponed yung wedding namin pinaforfiet ko nalng yung deposit nasa 17K din plus ayaw ni hubby sila parang medyo maano din sa pricing. Maiintidihan ko kung imported flowers pero with mixed hindi ko alam percentage ng local vs imported.

Sis kdramaholic thanks sis. Thanks for keeping the vibe up kaya sobrang thankfull din ako sa GT dahil tayo tayo lang talaga nakakapaglift up after a stressful situation. I mean mas understanding pa kesa sa grooms natin.

Super devastating mga ganitong horror stories for us b2bs. Yung aspect na months or years of research yung inallot natin just to get a particular Supplier grabe na, plus yung money na involved, we've worked hard for it, hinde biro-birong amount ang usapan, yung emotions natin towards preps, yung excitement and contentment when everything goes as planned and dismay at sorrow when things go south, they should consider that. The fact that we chose THEM among tons of Suppliers, must be enough reason for them to take care of us.

I know they are busy, I know they have a lot of things to accomplish, but they can always get PA or at least hire someone na ang task is to assist us, update us or keep us in the loop.

Personally, meron akong hinahanap na "vibe"sa mga Suppliers ko and important sakin yung feedbacks when it comes to their attitude, their customer handling skills, exceeding expectations of their Clients. I mean I can work with "kulang na skills" or di masyadong magaling at their craft, pero 100 % naman ang customer service, very humble, may personal touch, friendly ang approach kesa someone na well renowned pero bastos, suplado/a, sarcastic or hinde ako priority just because mura lang ang iaavail ko na services or because I'm not as rich as their other Clients.

So sorry to hear about your experience!!   I can really relate and I feel for you because I also switched event stylists at the very last minute because I couldn't seem to trust the stylist I initially hired which was Love in Blooms.

I agree na if you have pegs na you want to follow, you should be able to trust that your stylist will deliver what had been agreed upon, even down to the tiniest details.

I replaced Love in Blooms with Teddy Manuel for reception styling as well as entourage flowers.  If you haven't  already received a quote from him, you'll be surprised to know na he's not as expensive as most people think he is.  What's great about Teddy is that I never had a problem communicating with him or his team and during our wedding, he went above and beyond what has been agreed without charging extra.  Super nice, super down to earth, and he works with the budget you have.  Our wedding was held 2 weeks ago, October 22, 2016.  It turns out that it was the same day as the #Aldub wedding.  When he was bringing the flowers up to my suite, naka-chika nya yung HMUA ko.  They were talking about the Aldub wedding nga and my HMUA thought he was doing that wedding too.  Teddy said he turned it down because he was already scheduled for our wedding and he doesn't want to overwork his staff so he referred Badang Rueda nalang. It was so nice to know how he values all his clients!!

Additionally, for my own bouquet, I sent him my pegs 2 weeks before the wedding.  Sabi ko, it doesn't have to be exactly like that, I just want a few stems of phalaenopsis orchids in it, and he could use ecaudorian roses nalang for the rest kasi nga I don't want to spend extra na because phalaenopsis is too expensive.  When I got my bouquet, napa- WOW naman ako because he used a LOT of phalaenopsis in the arrangement.  Talagang hindi nya tinipid, and he even added brooches and golden twigs to make it more coherent with our theme.  So happy with him, his work, and his professionalism.

did teddy manuel also do the drapings of your reception?
im glad he is able to stick with a budget and desired style at the same time. i honestly dont expect that from the high end stylists. so many stylists can be difficult to nego with kasi and we noticed the draping is what makes the expenses balloon.

Oh scary naman yun. After I booked them, Scenta still responded to my emails promptly. However, its been months since I last communicated with them.  Shucks baka sa last stretch pa magkaproblem:( It's a good thing their office is near my place so I guess I must talk to them in person when I finalize my requirements. I hope you find a new stylist soon! Good luck!:)
