I heard a comment from an older person in her 70's or 80's. Natawa lang ako...

Sabi nya in her day sobrang simple lang ng most weddings. The ceremony is in the morning, they have a cake and punch reception (merienda). The couple leaves early during the reception kasi they are really looking forward to the honeymoon part and the rest of their lives.

Now there's no rush daw for most couples kasi most relationships are already consumated by the time they reach the altar.

Somehow, I agree with that.

^^marami na kasing mga add-ons ngayon like prenup photos, save the date videos and sde. Tapos may mga fireworks display na rin and other stuff.
And honeymoon trips are scheduled days after the wedding na kasi karamihan, they want it to be special kaya nagtatravel pa out of the country. ☺

Maraming popular hotels from the church but we chose a condotel yung closest sa church na mas mura pa. Php10,000 sa hotel per room while condotel  na we got is 2,500 lang per room.

We got a coaster as our bridal and grooms vehicle. Una muna hinatid husband ko and his family. After that, ako naman ang hinatid ng coaster. madali lang ang turn around ng coaster kasi malapit lang ang church.   Nung pag uwi namin, isang karga-han nalang ng gamit kasi huge ang coaster to load our gifts. Php8,000 for one whole day kasama na ang gas. Marami pa kami nakasakay at sama sama kami.

We chose inexpensive rings and comfy shoes we bought sa sm.

Nag spend kami mostly on food.

I am planning a surprise wedding for my parents. I don't know if this is the right trhead though i think, the thread title fits what i want for the ceremony. As in small and intimate garden wedding all set na ako. Ang question ko lang, sana may makatulong huhu, may parents are both catholic and i have been attending christian services for almost a year now. I feel that i wont be able to get a priest kasi hindi na daw allowed and priests to do wedding outside the church and pag church ko naman gawin, andami requirements hindi na siya magiging surprise niyan dahil magaasikaso sila. I am thinking of getting a pastor instead to officiate it. Ang gusto ko lang naman is for them to be blessed and get married in the eyes of God and hindi lang dahil through papers lang kaya i feel na, either way will do. But since they are still catholic, and knowing how politically influenced na ang church ngayon, may pagka racism na din kasi ang catholic church baka dahil lang walang papel na signed from the church eh hindi sila ma acknowledged na kasal. Naisip ko naman, papel lang naman yun, just like their marriage certificate from the city hall. What's important is ma bless talaga sila. Baka may naka experience ng ganito or idea. I need enlightenment. Thank you!

^hi sis! That is so sweet <3 Nakakatuwa naman your idea.

I am thinking of getting a pastor instead to officiate it.

You can do this, but sa marriage license nila at least one of them has to indicate na same religion/sect sila ng Pastor na magkakasal. The marriage license is the document that you get from the city hall, yun ang ifafile as marriage certificate after ng wedding. So if born again Christian for example ang Pastor na magkakasal, then either your mom or dad has to indicate na born again Christian sila sa marriage license.

There are also Catholic 'priests' who are not Roman Catholic. Legit sila ha, I just quoted kasi di ko sure kung anong tawag talaga sa kanila, kung priests din ba. Pwede siguro din yun. You may want to join Wedding Suppliers group on facebook, there are a lot there, pwede kang magtanong sino may ganung service na hindi Roman Catholic. They can conduct ceremonies outside the church.

The Catholic church recognizes civil weddings naman. And true, wala naman difference ang marriage contract ng kasal sa church or sa court, except sa pirma ng nag officiate. By the way, renewal ba yung sa parents mo?

^thank yous sis simang!

Yes they are both catholics. Would you know or nakakita ka na ba ng ganoon? Para I'd know the flow of the program sana.

Hello! I'm so glad to find this thread. My h2b and I are also planning a small intimate wedding, 50 guests lang maximum. So far, mga napag-inquiran naman na pwede are Gazebo Royale and some hotels in Quezon City.

^ Hi sis. Mahirap talaga pag intimate wedding within QC, but here are a few:

- Lemuria (A gourmet restaurant. It's our first choice but it was far from the church we booked)
- Romulo Cafe (the space is a bit small for us but according to them, they have already catered to a lot of weddings)
- Casa Pura (very reasonable package among the bunch but we just didn't feel like it's the one)

Some hotels can also accommodate that number. You just need to arrange it with their sales department. Just don't be too shy to ask.

Dolcelatte Quezon Ave seems nice, but they're really horrible to communicate with. We have set an appointment 3 times, and the staff in-charge of events is either always absent or just hard to reach. There are times when their landline just keeps ringing. The other staff are not knowledgeable about their specific details on their event packages apart from the ones written on their marketing materials. It was a complete waste of time. We just had to drop them.

Thank you sa replies mga sis! Try ko mag-inquire sa kanila. So far, Sequioa Hotel and B Hotel nagreply sila sa inquiry ko and they accept 50 pax. Ok ba food nila? Hindi pa din kami nakapag-ocular. Hopefully makapag-book na kami ng reception venue this month.

Hi mga sis! I'll get married in 3 months time. napagkasunduan namen ni H2B na intimate wedding lang ang gawin with our closest family and friends. sa chapel lang kami magpapakasal. No entourage, No reception programs just wedding rights then dinner after. gusto ko maka kain at makarelax sa kasal ko. haha.
Ask ko lang kung meron kayong alam na mga hole in the wall na restaurants na nag cacater ng banquet for 70 pax. 40-50k ang budget namen dito around Makati or Manila area.
I imagine it na either ala carte or buffet style tapos long table with flowers and candles with siguro instrumental piano or violin lang na nagpla-play sa background (Kahet CD lang to).

^Hi Sis! I am also looking for the same type of venue but in 2 months time nalang kami. civil wedding muna. :) Before okay samin yung venue lang then maghihire ng caterer. but we chose to make it simpler and budget friendly kaya restaurant na may magandang interior sana ang hanap namin. So far, eto mga choices ko:
Cafe 1771
Mateo's Restaurant Cafe
Lemuria
Plana's Pantry

But mostly kasi nasa QC area, actually makati or pasay area sana mas preferred namin or tagaytay area. :) Hope may madagdag mga sisses natin dito. :)

Hassle if babyahe pa kame pa QC for dinner. I was thinking of old swiss inn, sentro1771, Todd English kaya lang hindi ko sure kung may set menu ang sentro and todd english at kung kaya nila ang 70 pax. If you guys could suggest a place na maganda tapos private super appreciated. :)

We're still looking gawing Makati, Pasay eh. hihi. :>

sis pretty_B, have you tried Army officers clubhouse near mckinley hill? they accept bookings from civilians naman when i went to check with my BFF who is also getting married soon. there's also The Henry Hotel in pasay which has a nice garden, and Kasalikasan Garden in the heart of BGC. hope this helps.
