I have a very limited knowledge when it comes to stocks, gusto ko na mag start mag invest (ColFin). Question lang if this is the best time to start?

^For newbies, no. Stay out. For us to be really in the clear, we must break and stay at 7400 level with volume and conviction. But what is happening? 7000-7200 pa lang, hirap na hirap na. Flat. Foreigners still fleeing and selling. Locals are buying, but cannot offset the net selling. More global bad news still on its way. Fund managers, namely Philequity and BPI, are pulling out and staying in cash position.

What does that tell you? Top-up ka pa rin? Long-term pa rin? Don't be sheeple.

^^same with Mutual Funds ba yan sis? i started early this year and hanggang last month top up ko.

this is for my retirement and health fund sana. so i am looking at least 20years

^Yes, same with any investment that is invested in equities.

No problem with long term, but wait before doing any top-ups now if you can. Also no problem if you are long-term (5 years up) and doing cost-averaging and doing it religiously. It's just that this is the stock market thread where the strategies are and should be different from managed funds.

I'm seriously considering buying TEL shares as soon as it bounces back from support. Sa dividends pa lang nito (> 140/ year in the last 5 years kung hindi ako nagkakamali), mukhang sulit na.

i wonder kung ano ang effect ng upcoming elections sa stock market.
historically ba, do the markets plummet right before an election?

thinking of buying stocks from the company we made money from, earlier this year. I checked and it's up 323% na! I sold our stocks when it was just up 50% kaloka

^What's wrong with DNL? Okay naman siya so far.

They recently gave 100% stock dividends and payment date is Sep 17.

I have a bias for Ayala companies (ALI, AC, CHI, BPI) kasi in the 3 years since I started buying stocks  sila yung consistent na green sa portfolio ko. ALI in particular, I bought for 24 lang three years ago, ngayon above 30 na kaya kahit downtrend ang PSI eh green pa rin si portfolio.

I also read Colfinancial's research, wala pa naman akong pinagsisihan na desisyon from reading their analysis.

A friend of mine told me to hold muna as baba pa, pero gustong gusto ko ng bumili ng MEG dahil all research points to it being a bargain at the moment, kaya go ako buy kahapon. so far so good! tumaas naman sya within the day so Ngayon green na!

binenta ko na si DNL . haha .. ayaw ko maheart attack. lol. guys paano ba mag sell ng shares if lugi na lugi na ito? pwede pa ba makabawi or di na pwede?  yung MARC ko waley na. haha
