^sis ganda ng linya mo.super like it! #whogoat haha

We're preparing for our parents 40th wedding anniversary dinner and we booked the Soleriega Hall of Casa Real. Ang hirap and gulo nila kausap. Kahit printed nga nga invitations, I'm willing to cancel our reservations with them. But they refused to return our 60% advance payments....

Has anyone here ever experienced being turned down by someone you've requested to be ninong/ninang?

I really wanted to choose my principal sponsors, as in couples I know and respect. I didn't want to just get any "tito" or "tita" because I wanted a more personal feel to our entourage.

Within the past month, 2 of my potential PS politely declined. :( One reason I think is because of my faith, being a protestant/evangelical Christian while they are traditional Catholics. Differences in religion was never an issue for me because like I said up there, what matters is that I have a good relationship with these people and I admire their marriages. Ang advice kasi sa akin ng mom ko is to find PS who will support you in all aspects, not just financially.

Yun lang. It's nothing major but I feel a little let down. Oh well.

They always ask me "pwede ko ba isama husband and / or anak ko?" Kainis talaga.

^^ sis reenabautista, I think kasi yung mga may asawa or even long-term partners sanay na siguro silang magkasama sa mga ganyan events so baka nagcaclarify lang sayo. Pero medyo bastos nga na itanong yun kung nakalagay na sa invitation na for 1 lang, especially sa Pinoy culture na hirap tayo tumanggi pag on the spot tinanong.

Yung sa anak naman, sobra na yun! In general, di naman talaga pambata na event and kasal except sa mga close relatives.

Me! It was a bit disappointing pero I don't want to impose naman di ba.

Currently having difficulties pushing my entourage to have their measurements taken. Everyone's busy due to one reason or another. Nakakahiya lang sa couturier when she follows up kasi she'd like to start working on the gowns to ensure that they'll be delivered on time. :(

Sis reenabautista, same dilemma here.

I was told that if it's a husband/wife, we're socially obliged to invite them as well but sobra na pag anak! You can always say it's an "adult-only affair" if it's a child or simply tell them that you will see pa because you have to check the guest list. Non-committal answer is less harsh than a flat no although minsan sobrang nakaka-tempt gawin yung latter.

Just to share, at a recent party, one relative took it upon herself to invite her WHOLE FAMILY even if it wasn't specified in our invite. Argh! I hate it when Pinoys do that. I understand that we are bound by family ties but you should also learn to respect the budget of the host/organizer.

For a time, MIL stayed with us. During that time sabi namin ibigay na niya ang list of invited niya. Which is nagbigay naman siya. At syempre limited and numbers ng invitation dba. Nung February pa to ha. Kailangan daw ba may invitation? Mabait and super love ko si MIL kaso i cant help talaga to feel this way. ma-OC pa man din ako and super hands on talaga. :(

I wanted a hot pink with a touch of black sa abay gowns.
my husband's sisters want black dress lang na bibili sa landmark at yung ibang abay pumunta nalang daw don ayaw daw nila ng hotpink gown kasi iitim sila (attitude?). sabi ko hot pink at bibili sa divisoria ng gawa na paalter nalang. no daw di daw sila magsosoot ng damit na pangit ang tahi.. kasi daw divisoria...god knows yung iniyak ko sa kulay na yan I never wanted a black wedding. my mom is matanda na didnt approve of it. nung sinabi ko sa husband ko na ayaw namin ng black. di nalang daw magaabay sisters niya. sabi ko kasal ko to bakit ganun pag kasal nila ako kaya maginarte? para magmeet halfway, para walang gap at samaan ng loob ginawa ko nalang 3 black gown which is para sa sisters niya 3 hotpink gowns. alternate kumbaga. kaso ang pangit naman ng gown na ginawa saamin. nung alice de guzman, eh 2 weeks from the wedding nalang yun. last minute nako pumayag na all black na lahat ng gownish dress na kanya kanyang bili basta bawal satin at chiffon dapat ang panlabas. (nasunod ang sisters sa black dresses)problema mga pamagkin ko ang aarte kesyo wala daw makita, mahanap pangit daw!! 2 days from the wedding wala parin nabili.. sabi ko bahala na kayo... ends up oo all black dress sila, hot pink flowers. pero iba iba ang style ng black dresses nila. ayun di sila masyado kinunan ng photo ng pvs... which is pabor saakin kasi sobrang stress ng inabot ko sa kanilang lahat!!! nabanggit ko yata sa pv ko nuon ang hirap ko sa babaeng abay kaya siguro di niya pinicturan hehe... buti talaga.... kasi siguro kung marami sila exposure sa photos and videos namin maiirita lang ako ng grabe..

how inconsiderate of them, donya_dyosa! it is your wedding after all. on a positive note, in the end, you have more pictures of yourself and your groom rather than the entourage :)

Medyo nakakabadtrip yung mga guests na nag RSVP then at the last minute biglang mag decline. We initially wanted to have 150 guest sa wedding namin. During the planning stage, lumobo ng mga hanggang 180 yung guests. We were okay with it and decided to invite yung nag exceed na sa 150.

When we had our RSVP last March 13 all 180 said yes. Ngayon, biglang may nag cancel. We are now down to 168. We sent save the date reminders and invitation to all 180. And all are eager to attend our wedding. Sa akin lang sana nag decline na lang sila during the RSVP stage. They were all excited and even told me kung ano yung susuotin nila.  Tapos ngayon daming excuses.

We could have invited other people in our wedding. :( In addition, we already paid for the 180 heads plus buffer which is already outside our wedding budget.

I just need to let it off my system para hindi ko na pag-stressan yun.

If you're hesitant to invite set B guests, maybe you can inform some of the confirmed guests that they can bring an additional heads if they want to. Otherwise, you can give the extra food to your suppliers so you won't have to spend or you can lessen your expenses on crew meals :)

^We already allowed those who have a +1 on the event. For the suppliers kasi, we ordered plated food for them.  :( We finalized the per head sa caterer after the rsvp. At that time, all 180 guests said yes. Kaya we ordered na lang different food for our supplier.

hi kimjoori, i feel for you...it seems like a waste but at the end of the ceremony, i believe the caterer will turn over the excess food to you, so just think of it as having some extra food at home for the next few days after the wedding. maybe you can also ask the caterer to remove the 1 table (assuming you have 10 people per table) so you won't have an empty table at the reception
