^^Agree. Try to re-negotiate sis. I won't be comfortable paying a supplier in full right away. In fact, all our suppliers who will be rendering their services on the wedding day, i.e., video, stylist, musicians, OTD, etc., will only be paid in full on the day itself. We discussed this with them and had all our contracts amended accordingly before we signed the same.

@ bimbolera how much quote sayo ni Emil? Alam ko 40k up ang price nya last year So hindi pa rin pasok sa budget mo (unless tinaasan mo).. Bait yun si Emil magaling sya sa mga frou frou/ruffles 😊

ginawa ko na lang flexible to 40k if ever kay emil. kay roxy baka 35k (which is my max budget) ko makuha kaya dilemma ko between emil's experience and roxy's reasonable price and budding talent. maganda ang portfolio ni roxy in fairness. magkakatalo na lang siguro sino yun maayos makatrabaho.

kaya nagiisip ako kung pupuntahan ko pa both (geographically far pareho) para lang malaman ko kung sino yun maayos kausap. ano sa tingin nyo?

choosing between Edward Teng and Emil Ocampo for my bridal gown. konti lang ang difference ng quote nila saken. todo tawad ako kay Teng and gusto ko na siya but the catch is - i have to pay na in FULL agad. i have the money but im just worried since i wont have any leverage anymore. pag hindi nasunod yung gusto ko, or worse, hindi matapos yung gown on time

sis, if i were you go for emil na. kasi kung todo tawad ka kay edward teng, baka pati quality eh matawaran din. kung ok sayo un initial rate ni emil go for it, atlis alam mong hindi makocompromise yun quality. Edward Teng nga designer ng gown pero mukang sobrang nabudget din yun gown, sayang lang.

Ako Id go with Edward Teng. Not for any reason but because Ive attended a wedding na Edward Teng ang gown and it was nice. But then Ive never seen an Emil Ocampo gown.

At the same time I also agree with one of the posts here. Na baka sobrang tawad yung gown with Edward Teng and madami siya i-substitute sa materials na gagamitin. OK lang yun if youre going for a minimal look. But if not, baka ma bitin ka lang with the Edward Teng gown.

For example I considered Rajo Laurel for my gown. Ang starting niya is 150k. But that's the simple type of gown lang. Nasa 200-250 the more intricate gowns. So for me... I had to consider if I want to go with Rajo for the bragging rights but will have to wear a minimal gown, or do I get someone else?? I went for another designer in the end.

Ako kasi I dont believe in hiring a supplier and just going for their entry-level rate.

^if it's me, I'd go for edward teng.. with or without the discount sis. gano na ba kalayo yung tawad mo from the original price if you don't mind me asking? Kase I was thinking naman,  if he gave you that price tapos pangit yung quality, I dont think edward teng will put his name at stake.. magiging kasiraan sa kanya yon e.. I think magiging maganda parin your gown.

haayy.. nalungkot naman ako when I back read yung kay rich fontanilla. gusting gusto ko pa naman works nya. last year 45-55k palang ang rates nya, now whooping 80k agad? aww..

^so true sis. si coca nga 30k lang last yr tas ngayong 45k na minimum nya. ng nagpaquote ako ng napakasimpleng gown 85k ang quote nya sa kin. ktnxbye agad ako huhuhu~

sissies, i have question re: groom's suit. there's separate thread for groom's suit pero i-ask ko na rin dito.  how many months before the wedding dapat ang first fitting ng suit? i've been sending msgs to h2b's designer for a month now to schedule the first fitting pero seenzoned ako lagi.. i tried calling him up, but no answer. then biglang magme-message na sorry i missed your call etc. then when i asked kung kelan ang first fitting, ang sagot niya lagi "i'd check with the production then update kita tomorrow".. then hindi naman nag-message kinabukasan.. i followed up again, then seenzoned ulit.
the wedding is on 2nd week of May, pero wala pa ring sched ng first fitting..

^A suit shouldn't require as much alterations as a gown unless sobrang layo ng fit  (e.g, nagfluctuate ng weight si groom or sobrang incompetent yung gumawa/nagsukat). I'd be more concerned with your designer's failure to communicate.

EDIT: Di ko nabasa na May na pala wedding niyo tapos may holy week pa. You need to start ASAP.

hallerski, I'd definitely push to have the fitting as soon as possible -- you'll want to have as much time as possible to make adjustments if your groom has issues with any of the details or the fit (especially if it's the first time he's having something made by this tailor).

hi sis litterbox, i have several friends and family na nabook si clayton before, ang comments ko sa kanya is super galing ng corset nila and never ka magkakaproblem with the fitting, ang medyo downside is parang feel ko paulit ulit nalang ang designs and may one time yung friend ko sinamahan ko magfit, yung bride before us super similar yun top with my friend's!!! ang maganda kay clayton, since napansin nya na may awkwardness sa part ng friend ko dahil nagulat nga kami na magkamuka, siya na mismo nagsabi na, papalitan nya ang top design. so next fitting super bumawi naman at naging maganda ang design lalo nun sa friend ko.
