@ sis three8one I would like to correct, Duterte wants federalism not just in Mindanao or local governments but for the whole country. LusViMinda ika nga.

@ sis sarsingkit yes the whole country should go federal. You are correct and a good example is the US. Sa pagkakaalam ko all regions, NCR, Ilocos, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, DAVAO, ARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Central Visayas etc. These regions will be converted into federal states. Each state will retain 80% of its income and 20% to the national government, so 80 - 20 ang hatian.

In our current system which is Presidential Unitary mas malaki ang share na nakukuha ng national government.

For example sa Davao region. Malaki ang contribution ng Davao not just in PHP but in USD, kasi nandyan ang export ng bananas & pineapples, fishing, may mining din etc.

Well, this is more of a rant to our central government.

Duterte said “that a highly centralized government where almost every action by the local government units requires approval from the central Government has stunted the growth of the regions.”

@ sis Leven magandang tanaong yan. Duterte said that this is the only solution that would address not just the problem on insurgency but also the long deplored wealth sharing disparity between Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

"The beauty of federalism is that the people become active participants instead of passive recipients, citizens rather than subjects. In that capacity, they give life and meaning to the democratic concept of government by the people, of the people, and for the people," he said.

"In federalism, the National Government will remain a seat of power but will no longer weld all of it to subjugate the local governments, as imperial Manila does. And because it will no longer interfere with the construction of a provincial or barangay road or the choice of furniture in a government office, it can function more effectively within its assigned sphere," he said.

Watch this panel interview with Mayor Duterte: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHjJthID64k
fast forward to 20:30 mins. he explained federalism

Let's admit it..This will give a better chance or way for the terrorist to intrude Mindanao, right? Muslims are Muslims, They have their own agenda, and kung ano man mahirap na i-elaborate pa. MOst cities in Mindanao are led by Muslim leaders, right? In Federalism, This will give them the power or opportunity to stand what they want with the support of the national government. I must say na meron din siyang disadvantage, though part of it maganda sana kung walang masamang intensyon ang isang leader.

^There are pros and cons, this is one of the cons.

If Binay, Roxas or Poe were to become president, the feeling it will give me is frustration and kind of hopeless really. Especially kung mananalo si Binay, but I think he won't win naman. If Duterte were to win naman, there will be a lot of positive changes pero hindi ko alam, parang mejo natatakot ako.

Waah. So beautiful! In the federalism, able, tax paying people becomes a commodity kasi. And for regions to encourage movement ng tao, they will have to provide better benefits for the people. Non tax paying becomes purely a liability. Hindi na yung tipong kukuhanin na lang sila for the sake of number of votes.

He's known for being patas. Remember Mr. Richard King, the owner of Crown Regency group of hotels. May mga chika na drug lord daw yon kaya daw biglang yaman, He was one of the untouchables of Cebu, pero pagdating sa Davao, pinatay.

Matalino?

I am hopeful for the country pero masyado marami dapat ayusin. Duterte needs a group of people that are 100% with him, tipong whatever it takes. Baka mamaya, maging presidente nga sya pero after 1 year gusto na sya I-impeach.

I have heard Leni Robredo is going to run for VP post, mukhang gusto ko siya kesa kay Poe.

@sis Leven I have muslim friends mababait at matitino naman pero they're the well educated type. Kahit siguro anong sekta mapa-muslim o kristyano o ano pa man may mabubuti may masasama.

Noong una bagong mayor pa lang siya may mga disagreements din kami sa kanyang pamamalakad pero as time goes by nakita namin yung effort at result ng mga ginawa niya for Davao and because of that he earned our respect. I assure you he's a genuine public servant.

By the way successful ang rally at maraming nagsidalo. :)

My mom is a Muslim sis. She's a Tausug. May isa siyang kapatid na matalino who graduated at Siliman but nagjoin parin sa NPA. Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim(leader of MILF) alma mater is Notre Dame University. Nur Misuari studied at UP and finished his study @ Asian Center of the University of the Philippines. In short, most of the terrorists are educated and rich people. Why based it in education, may sarili naman silang education na pinagbabatayan, their bible, the koran.  I don't think it's with the education. It's the religion. Parang networking ang Muslim sis, gusto nila magparami, malaking points yan sa kanila kung may marecruit ka namagconvert to Muslim, I should know that. I totally agree na dapat fair ang attention din ang ibibigay sa mga nasa Mindanao, but to give them the sense of authority?! I doubt.

^Sis, yes yung mga leaders like Murad or Nur and  some are educated. Pero yung mga nirerecruit nilang karamihan ngayon some are farmers at yung iba mga out of school, may iba pa nga na sapilitan pinapasali sa rebellion. My point was with good education may opportunities for them at least may choice sila. My father in law is a Muslim at wife naman niya catholic. He's highly educated as well, naging classmate at kaibigan niya yang si Nur dati. He chose not to join o maging active. Even his siblings chose not to.

I think, a formal education may bring opportunities for them in the future.. at siyempre parte na rin dyan yung processo na ma-hone ang character at knowledge ng isang tao/mag-aaral. So for me malaking factor pa rin ang education. It may not bring immediate result but it's just a matter of time.

I beg to disagree sis. Hindi GMRC ang kasagutan sa terorismo. I was brought up by a muslim mom, so alam ko kung paano sila magisip, mahirap mag generalize but majority of them has the same way of thinking. Ginawa kung example sina nur misuari for you to know na di porket nasa rebellion e less educated na. Most of their leaders are well educated and hindi porket recruit e mahirap ba agad

Kaya I pointed out that at end of the day it is someones 'choice' porque may pinag-aralan ka man o wala. I never mentioned terrorism in my previous posts. That 'GMRC' bit was meant as a separate post actually. I'm sorry for confusing you.

Well I'm pointing out the Terrorism issue sis..HOw on earth can I link Federalism to small time rebels and petty crime only.
^I think, a formal education may bring opportunities for them in the future.. at siyempre parte na rin dyan yung processo na ma-hone ang character at knowledge ng isang tao/mag-aaral. It's clearly stated here on your post na formal education ang kailangan ng Mindanao. They have their own Education sis..and it's based from Koran. In short, you can't bring the type of education we have in Luzon at Visayas sa mga Muslim. But these rebel groups are still trying to brainwash their fellow Muslims to join the group. I must say, kailangan natin ng lider na susugpo sa mga rebelde na to hindi yung papanig sa kanila or patabain ang mga to. Look what happen duon sa Samal, Davao del Norte kidnapping. How can Mindanao be productive and progressive kung mababa ang Turismo nila.

^ I never said na yan lang ang kailangan ng Mindanao, yan ay isa sa mga kailangan.. I was talking about rebellion at hindi terorismo. Though it will help in the long run, kahit sa maliit na paraan, unti-unti.

So what do you think is the solution?

If Duterte runs, we will register for overseas absentee voting. If not, di na rin kami mag register. Dahil wala naman akong mapipili na bagong presidente kina poe, binay and roxas.
