Caterer Review : K by Cunanan PART 3

Hi ladies! My AE is Betina. I think she's fairly new sa KbyC. How is dealing with her like? Are there brides here na tapos na yung wedding na AE si Betina?

I've done a bit of back reading and I'm surprised to know that you're assigned 2 KbyC personnel na? One AE and a stylist? If that's the case, medyo makakahinga ako ng maluwag since may kasama si Betina for my weddin. ☺️

Hi, Sisters -

Had our final FT yesterday. Okay naman. I love my initial food tasting better because it was more relaxed. Yesterday super daming couples and meetings so we were at Greenmeadows from 3pm - 7pm.

Here's our final menu:

APPETIZERS
Bacon Wrapped Dates
Seared Tuna on Crisp Tortilla
Hoisin Chicken Wrap
Blinis with Smoked Salmon/Smoked Tanigue and Dill (guys - any feedback on this one?)

Roasted Corn Soup

Assorted Bread with Balsamic and Olive Oil and Pesto Butter

SALAD
Watermelon and Feta with Citrus Dressing

MAINS
Seafood Paella
Honey Nut Prawn
Roasted Rosemary Chicken with Stuffing, Broccoli and Cashew Salad
Barbecued Beef ribs, Corn with tarragon butter, baby potatoes

DESSERT
White Chocolate Cake
Quezo de Bola Cheesecake
Flambeed Mangoes with Vanilla Ice Cream
Chocolate and Hazelnut Canoli

For the styling - they charged me P3K per long table including the 2 VIP tables but I negotiated and told Nina my budget and she said it's workable. We just need to downgrade a bit the flowers (add more greeens and cactus). For comparison, if mag round table ako 300 lang ang upgrade ko. We made changes in the mock-up right there and Nina got her style supplies to modify what I like. I also added flowers for my backdrop so there's additional cost for flowers there as well.

Two na in-charge ngayon. One over-all AE and one stylist. Nina's one of their best so get her as much as possible. Check her IG (@lovexxnina) for inspiration and styles she made in the past.

^Hi sis, we selected the salmon blinis for the final FT too but we didnt include it in the final menu after seeing it was hard to handle (the underneath was too soft and kinda too wet for finger food) but the salmon itself on there was okay for me.

Seared Tuna on Crisp Tortilla, and Hoisin Chicken Wrap for the other three. For me winner yung 3. We love the Bacon and Tuna and the Hoisin Chicken Wrap is a real tummy filler.

Hi sisses, it's been a while since I posted anything here. Just wanna share our experience from yesterday's initial FT. I know we picked the right one for us, even if we booked them in a bridal fair months ago without even tasting a piece of their food! Haha! Na-let go ko na yung mga worries ko after ko makabasa ng nega review dito sa thread a few pages back. Finally. Akala ko mawawalan ako ng 10k DP haha!

I don't have the list with me right now, but all four cocktails/pika-pika tasted wow. We're leaning towards at getting them all since OOT wedding kami at in case matagalan ang postnup. Actually, dun sa apat na yun (portobello fries in wasabi cream, egg something i forgot the name haha, chicken in tortilla and one more in wrap forgot the name so sorry) busog na ang guests. I'm quite positive we won't have grumpy guests even if ang estimate ng coord ko eh 530pm pa start ng program kahit 1pm kasal namin :/ all tasted fresh and yummy. tapos nakabook na rin ako sa truffle tree for a truffle buffet. kung ako bisita, solb na ako dun. i'm even leaning towards getting a mobile bar na cocktails pa lang ipapa-open ko na. but that's not a priority at all.

back to kbyc: the raspberry iced tea was yum. haha! sad to say, di bet ni h2b yung honey nut prawns kasi first time nya makakain ng matamis na prawn. haha! ako naman bet na bet ko kasi similar sa mga binibili ko sa mga hawkers sa SG, only classier-looking. sabi ni h2b masarap, pero weird na matamis for ulam sa kanin HAHA!

surprisingly also, i hate all types of mushrooms. so medyo parang milagro na i liked their mushroom soup. but mas pleasing sa eyes yung color ng pumpkin soup -- equally masarap so we might opt for pumpkin with its color as tie-breaker.

sa mga main course, yung chicken okay naman kaso yung presentation nung amin konti ang gravy. gravy persons kami ni h2b so mahalaga yun. i know naman sa buffet mismo hindi nila yun iseserve ng ganun so kebs. beef was weird at first. i didn't even want to eat it (ayoko kasi ng beef in the first place). pero sabi ni h2b, ihalo ko dun sa kanin nila (forgot the name of the rice), and viola, masarap na sya. less umay na. malambot yung beef kaya napa-oo na rin ako. otherwise, i wouldn't bother touching it.

yung pork sa main course namin was cream and very soft. masarap sya but kung creamy lang rin, mas bet namin yung baked fish (kahit sa bahay, puro creamdory nilluluto namin haha. actually, iaattempt ko nga gayahin yung luto nila hahaha kasi winner sya. may almonds at potatoes. ang sarap! ).

desserts: masarap yung coffee. ayaw nga ibigay sakin ni h2b hahaha nakakahiya nag-agawan pa kami sa harap ng AE namin lol! pero pa-joke lang naman yun ni h2b haha. yung ensaymada was wow. it's so unconventional but still patok. i didn't like the churros with cocoa dip, which isn't a worry for me since i don't intend to get chocolates from kbyc's menu (meron na nga kasi kami with truffle tree). yung mango coconut, risky sya at di namin kukunin because ang laki ng dependence sa season ng fruit. maasim yung nailagay nila. maghanap ako ng replacements since five ang desserts namin (bridal fair booking perk). nadadamihan na si h2b sa matamis so baka iconvert namin yung isa or dalawa for the additional cocktails. pwede naman daw. di ko natikman white choco cake but sure na kaming kukunin yun. white choco addict si h2b e.

pasta: we were served two kinds. both were good, but mas bet namin yung one with tuyo na angel hair. i'll try cooking that at home too! lol. salads were both okay for h2b. ako in general i'm not into salads so i have no say. mas gusto ko ata yung isang with nuts na matamis ng slight. i don't know what it's called and medyo wala akong paki hehe.

Do you AEs do the reception layout for you? Mine sent over what she did, but honestly walang kwenta sya sakin kasi ang bano ng ginawa nya! Like the spaces in between tables arent even uniform, and she didnt consider that some tables are like at the edge of the tent already.. what if it rains?! :| And like the gaps between chairs when they're pulled out, and stuff. AEs SHOULD be OC.

I made my own layout drawn-to-scale but seriously, i expected more from them. Late na nga magsend di pa inayos.

Sis Dcpdane - We will also complement our mobile bar with our cocktail hour. We can open the bar for 1 hour then close it beginning of program then re-open mid-dinner since wala naman kami after-party. K by Cunanan also asked me na i-chill ni Mobile Bar ang mga wines, hard liquors, and beers if ever.

Btw girls K by C is charging me additional 2,500 if I want wine glasses set-up in the reception for the toast.

Hi, Sis Sparkling! Oh no!!! That's hassle. Who is your AE again? I am having 2 tents with capacity of 150 pax each. I will only have 150-160 guests but nung isang araw I was thinking of getting just one tent then the buffet area na lang will be on another tent but the fiance told me na it's better to have bigger tents kasi like what you said --- what if umulan and also the dimension of the the chairs. Thanks for the tip. I hope maayos yan. Kainis yan! Agree on AEs being OCs as well.

Buti nalang i was really OC about the layout and made my own way back. Sent it to Rann na. I really pointed out in my email yung mga mali sa layout nya including the odd gaps and the gap from the edges of the tent. Cant rely on your caterer talaga, better to make your own or get your coordinator to make you a layout. Medyo malabo din sya kausap via email bec i kept clarifying something she doesnt answer.

Tubby, im having just one tent but its huge-- 100x40 ft, fits 240 pax comfortably with aisles, stage, and free space on all sides. You definitely need more than one tent if youre more than 150pax, consider program area, band, backdrop, led wall, buffet table.

I will ask her again on Tuesday regarding this. Wala pa din kami final contract. Good thing I decided not to withdraw our second tent. We are having 39x41 ft. na dalawang set.

^Hi Tubby yes haha i had my final FT like 12 days ago. My tent is the dome one by Forscink. The 100X40 i think is their standard size for the clear truss arc tent. Hay, still no reply from Rann on the layout changes.......

Your 39X41 ba is by Tentworld? Goodluck also, Dec bride right?

My stylist Nina replied naman.. She cant send pa daw backdrop and photowall pegs. Linen colors lang daw kaya nya send. One month to go nalang iha kelan pa kaya? Really disappointed with how our KbyC AE/stylist are handling our account so far. They are so hard to get to tapos half-baked pa. Fiance has connections to Kaye and we might use it as a desperate measure to save our wedding.

My gosh sana talaga nagBIZU nalang ako!! Stress.

^My AE Jam made my layout. I did not have problems with her layout though. I think I heard from somewhere that she is an interior designer by profession. So i guess it figures.

Same here, had no problem  with the lay out with our AE Monique. Gave her plenty space to work around so it was quite easy to do lay out mapping during final FT last week.

^You guys are really lucky! I sent my AE the layout i made myself and told her she can just use or copy that. My layout isnt super easy because the space is still limited, but i do hope she considers naman those factors i cited---i am no interior designer or what but its just common sense.

My stylist finally sent pegs... to be safe, baka il just choose something she's already done so that she wont have to think as much...less prone to unpleasant surprises.
