Honey nut prawns is a must.  :)

Most of the guests were raving na masarap lahat ng food but consistent ang barbecued baby back ribs and baked fish with almonds sa favorite nila.

For dessert, I still can't get over how delicious their white chocolate was. Btw, Jam gave us a box to take home because she knows how much we love it. I'm tempted na nga to go there to ask for it again. Hahaha.

^Yes, upgrade na sya. You can opt to have your VIPs upgraded then the rest is the "regular" menu.

Exciting ang final FT. Jam wouldn't force you to agree agad. I had ours changed a little bit lang and because OC din sya ayun ginawa nya agad.

Nakaka-miss ang preps promise!

We didn't get na the crew meals. Our suppliers were part of the headcount na. We decided na instead of replacing those guests who can't/won't come, better to treat the suppliers as guests na din. We didn't want to invite people just to fill in the numbers.  ;)

Hi mga sis, after a month, I actually finally got to back read mga comments, raves and rants at mga violent reactions dito sa GT :)  I had my initial food tasting last March with KbyC.  Rann is my AE, and so far naging okay naman syang kausap.  Kasi nga eh natarayan ko sya before kasi I was really getting frustrated with lack of attention sa mga email ko.  But that was water under the bridge.  What I liked was that now, she does reply now to my emails.  Although not as quick as how I would want to, but I am quite reasonable naman.  I know that they have a lot of clients, and next year pa naman ang wedding namin. hehe.. Mag inarte daw ba ako.

Anyways, we had our 3pm appointment with them.  And akala ko, madaming food sa food tasting.  Madami naman sya. Pero akala ko eh like platter by platter ang iseserve sa amin hehe.  Ambisyosa lang ang peg ko.  Yun pala eh per serving size lang din.  Pero in fairness.  Akala ko konti lang pero nabusog kami.   ;) ;) ;).

What they served us was:

Appetizers:

Grilled cheese, tomato soup shots - 5/5  The tomato soup shots are really in shot glasses.  They taste really good.  Ang sarap ng combination nya. :D

Blinis with smoked salmon and dill - ??  I can't comment, kasi I am not into rawish food.  Kaya di ko sya masyado na appreciate.  This is just me, others would probably rave about it.

Hoisin crackling pork wrap.  3/5 I forgot why I gave it 3/5 in my notes, okay lang ang lasa nya. Didn't made too much of an impact for me.  Maybe if I try it again, I'll remember hehe.

Soup:
Mushroom Soup with Truffle Oil - 1/5  The smell really overpowered the taste.  Its because of the Truffle oil, don't know why they still use it.  The affordable truffle oils are not made with real truffles.  And the good ones are really expensive.  So why bother selling it unless you're in a restaurant with $$$$ to spend. (Just my own 2 cents worth)

Salad:
Insalata caprese, orange, walnuts, and strawberry vinaigrette 3.5/5
Hmm.. I like it.  Would've been better if they served fresh veggies, thus the 3.5 rating.  Other than that, it was sweetish with just the right amount of crunchiness combined with the sweet orange and sweet and sourish strawberry vinaigrette, and the perfect balance of almond nuttiness :D

Mains:

Vongole Pasta with fresh tomatoes and pesto - 5/5 perfect pasta for me.  I really loved their pesto tamang tama lang ang lasa

Seared tuna salpicao, olives, baby potatoes, roasted garlic and french beans -  4/5
Grilled chicken tzatziki mediterranean salad - 4/5 I love mediterranean food kaya maybe I'm  a bit biased.  :)  Not too salty, just enough spices to taste :)

Slow cooked Beef in Cranberry Jus, Boursin Potato Puree - 5/5
I saved the best for last :)  To me this was the best they had served during our food tasting, gusto ko nga sana humingi ng isa pang late eh. hehe.. The beef was very tender, and the potato puree, kung hindi ako nahihya sa mother in law ko at partner nya, gusto ko sana simutin yung serving plate hehe.

They also served 2 of their flavoured ice teas raspberry and vanilla.  Of the 2, I would highly recommend the raspberry.  The vanilla iced tea tasted more  like cough syrup to me.

For an initial food tasting, I think it went very well, it gave me a general idea of what I would be expecting.  Was I floored? No.  But I am hoping to be amazed (take note ang amaze hehe) during our final food tasting next year.  :)

Again, all of these are just my opinion, opinions vary per person... so don't crucify me if I am going against the grain here  ;D ;D ;D

hi bonzaigirl,
thanks for sharing your opinion about the dishes that were served during your initial FT. sa amin naman, for the cocktails we had hoisin chicken wrap, seared tuna on tortilla and mini pizza arugula and prosciutto.. the seared tuna is the only cocktail na nagustuhan namin, the other 2 are unremarkable.. parang, ok lang. with the soup, we had squash soup and broccoli aand cheese. we loved the the broccoli and cheese over squash. sa salad naman, we liked the barbecue chicken salad compared sa insalata caprese salad..

main dishes, lahat halos gusto namin except for the supreme of chicken with herbed cream sauce. pinaka favorite ko is the mixed seafood, chicken and chorizo paella, baked fish in cream in a bed of mashed potatoes and the slow cooked beef  with mashed potato cakes and creamed spinach.. (my tummy is grumbling just by merely typing these foods hahahaha)

sa desserts, we liked the queso de bola cheesecake, and chocolate and hazelnut cannoli..di ko type the apple crumble, banoffee and kiwi pana cotta.. masarap din pero parang walang masyadong variation yung combination ng desserts na naserve that's why i'm crossing those 3 off our list. i can't wait to try the white chocolate cake and mixed fruit compote saka strawberry and cream cheese crepes. yummo!!! :D

Thank you mga sis for the food feedback. At least I have a better idea what should I include din for the final food tasting :)

For out Initial food Tasting we had:
Appetizers: Mini Eggs Benedict, Chicken Tortilla with Arugula and Caramelized Onions, Portobello Fries Wasabi Cream. We liked the Eggs Benedict
Soup: Brocolli and Cheese soup (might go with this since yummier than pumkin soup?)
Salad: Melon and Prosciutto, Bleu Cheese, Raspberry Vinaigrette. Yummy but an upgrade :(
Main Dish: Mixed Seafood, Tomatoes and Capers
Baked Fish in Cream (thumbs up)
Honey Nut Prawns
Slow Cooked Beef with mashed potato and Creamed Spinach (yum!)

Dessert: Picatosted with tsokolate (its like thicker churros with native tsokolate. a bit on the dark/bitter side which I like)
Quezo de bola cheesecake (didn't like it)
Flambeed mangoes with vanilla ice cream (we loved this!)

For your pegs, did you give for the table setting ang or for the whole wedding reception na? Thanks!

Sis rightback
I sent my AE a presentation showing all my pegs from drapings, chairs, table centrepieces, flowers, sent them too a copy of our invitation and my cake peg para they'll have an overall feel or vision of the reception look we wanted to achieve. :)

^for the food tasting, hindi totoong once a month lang. Magpapaschedule ka dapat sa kanila, ask mo sila anong available dates and time slots. 3 time slots per day.

For the rates, i only have the 2014 rate kasi i was wed last Dec 2014.

Package 1 -940/ head +VAT+10% SC, minimum of 100 persons

Package 2 - 1,070/head +VAT+10%SC
Minimum of 150 persons.

Sa package 2 kasama na ang cake tsaka seafood upgrade kaya yun ang pnili namin. Also ayaw din nmin mabother pa sa pagkuha ng cake maker.

They allow 2 Food tastings for 4 persons max,  inital food tasting tsaka final food tasting which will include the mock setup and detailing.

Still looking at upgrading the styling sis peanutbuttercups pero we'll see on the final detailing kung ok na ba yung basic kase most feedback na nababasa ko.. ok daw kahit basic eh :) pero the tables, round parin yung sa guests ko. :)

sis peanutbuttercups di naman daw upgrade if you get all rectangular tables. kaso napapaupgrade ka if rectangular kasi parang bitin yung centerpiece. Their basic has about three bunches of flowers usually low, medium and high, candles, other props like mirrors, books, wood, lamps etc. but if you upgrade your styling i think it starts at 400 per table last I checked with my AE.

Pero same with belle_v2g I'm going with the round tables for the guests. VIP will remain with the long rectangular table.
