i'll be charging 1k lang per ento and i made sure na it's something na pwede nilang masuot ulit para masulit ang bayad nila.

this is our main consideration when we decided to have the entourage pay for their own dresses -- something that they can actually wear. swak din naman kase mas casual yung design namin than formal, kaya pwedeng pwede syang panglabas talaga.

ang mahal ng 10k. for most people that's too much.

nung nag abay ako sa friend ko, sagot din namin ang dress namin. this was how she told us, nung sinabi nya schedule ng 2nd fitting, she asked us if we can bring the payment na din that day. hindi naman din na ako nagulat but that was the only time she mentioned na kami ang magbabayad. the good thing is, reasonable naman ang presyo. less than 2k, and i'll be using the gown sa engagement sesh namin. haha so sulit na din. :)

oh my. how sad naman.. as brides, true na its's OUR DAY pero we should always be considerate pa rin to the people who will help celebrate with us. lalo na when it comes to anything financial na makakaapekto sa iba.

@sis simang, you gave me an idea. Pwede nga pala gamitin yun bridesmaid gown especially if mukha naman din siyang evening/long-gown sa prenup :)

^baka wala ng mag bridesmaid sakin pag ganyan kamahal ang gown haha! :)
my maid of honor is paying 6k for her own gown, but she's more than happy to do it.
(couturier ko din ang gagawa ng gown nya)

^my ento will pay for their own gowns except for one na HS student pa lang. Sabi ko max na yung 2K kaya any additional amount sa gown nila, kami ni H2B yung magshoshoulder. Kami na lang ang sagot sa HMU nila😃

She chose 10k gowns for the entourage and made them pay 10k? Why choose designer gowns when you can't pay for it? *cringe* I'd rather have my entou wear simple gowns and pay for them OR request that they shoulder their gowns for minimal costs.

caleeice, yup. This bride had six or seven girls in her bridal party so I guess she saved a lot of money, but I heard some of those friendships were permanently damaged.

Omg, the nerve to make your entourage pay for their own gowns and charge 10k. Sarap sabunutan, that is so selfish of her. Para lang nice photos niya? Why couldn't she pay for those herself..

Personally, I am not even considering making my entourage pay partial for their gowns. I just think that if I were in their place, and the bride is asking me to be there for her already and to go through the trouble of going to Tagaytay, is enough proof of our friendship. Besides, what if I am not in a good financial state? The cost of gowns, makeup, transpo, etc will just be a burden. Not to mention for sure you will have to give a gift to the couple. Just being reasonable, hindi naman lahat ng tao ready mag-abay, so it is actually a favor to the bride to do so.

So even though we're on a budget, i decided to shoulder not only my entourage's gowns but also their makeup and accommodation for 2 nights (before and after the wedding). I also included them in my forecast for food. But they will go to Tagaytay on their own. :)

Kami naman we are targeting 300k for our church wedding and reception. The bulk of that is the reception because I was very firm na dapat masarap yung food. Then we had several large expenses such as the church (30k! Yes  :-[), P/V (because we wanted to have good videos and photos that we can share in the website we are planning to put up for our friends and family abroad), wedding rings, emcee. Not priorities so we felt we could compromise were: coordinator (we got a company in the lower price range that had some good reviews), gowns (yes because I didn't want to spend too much on something that I will wear only once in my life), HMUA (also lower price range with good reviews), souvenirs, invites.

Re entou gowns, I shouldered the gown of one bridesmaid who I wanted to help out. But the other one, because she is financially stable, will shoulder her own. Yes, we only have 2 bridesmaids, no ring bearers or flower girls  :)

wow...just wow...
the most i ever paid for my entourage gown was 1k.
true, we should also consider our bridesmaids feelings and finances when we ask them to shoulder the costs of their gowns. for example, my friends who asked me to pay for my gown left the decision on the gown design to me and they also made sure that the gown didn't cost an arm and a leg.

maybe some people are used to having their entourage pay for their own attire kaya they assume it will be okay for others too. but it's really not.

i've been a bridesmaid lots of times but i only had to pay for my gown once. honestly, sumama talaga loob ko nun. it was just 3k pero i was surprised kasi first time ko lang magbayad, hindi rin kami ganun ka-close, urgent pa kasi malapit na yung wedding, and sadly, hindi maganda yung gown. it was not a budget wedding, high-end mga suppliers, and i thought, if you could pay for that, sana you saved some to pay for your ento's attire naman. kahit partial lang.

siguro nasa way din ng pakikipag-usap. pagkasabi kasi saken parang "will you be my bridesmaid? pero advance ko na yung gift mo ha, ill have to ask you to pay 3k for your gown. payment will on <date>" that is all in one text ha. nakakaloka lang.

for our own wedding, we'll pay for all our ento's attire despite of our tight budget. kahit rent lang ang suits, kahit hindi designer gumawa at kahit simple lang ang design at tela ng gown, at least we paid for it. hindi naman kailangan isang dosena ang abay at bongga ang gowns nila. yung sapat lang dapat sa kayang bayaran.

^ Wow 10k for a bridesmaid gown?!! Parang kung ako yun, wag na lang. Sabihin ko wala akong pera. It's so impractical. There are other means to save naman. When one of my friends got married, she just gave us the fabric na gusto niya tapos nakiusap siya na kami na sumagot ng pagpapatahi. Okay nga yung kase kami nakapili ng design tapos nakakita pa kami ng murang mananahi. Nagamit ko yung gown in other occasion.

For me lang, dapat happy ocassion ang wedding for everyone diba? If mayaman ka okay lang ang 10k pero if ordinaryong tao lang, ang laki ng 10k! Kahit nga 3k lang manghihinayang ako eh. Well , yun lang naman.

I was lucky enough that when I asked my girls to be my bridesmaids, they offered na to pay for their gowns and kanya kanyang patahi na sila. At first pumayag ako kase bawas sa gastos namin ni fiance :) but then I changed my mind at the last minute because I was going for a particular look for the bridesmaids :) so kami na sh-shoulder ng gowns ng bridesmaids :)

On another note.. i was asked to be the maid of honor of a friend of mine dahil none of her closest friends were willing to pay for the maid of honor na gown.  I said yes na lang to save the bride from further embarassment.  Pero feeling ko talaga when it comes to the bridesmaids outfits mejo both parties need to be a little bit sensitive sa mga emotions and financial conditions hehe.

Nahiya naman ako sa budget namin for 80-90 guests. 500K without wedding rings. :-\ Parang anlaki if kaya namang less. Originally it was 300K but then I started reading this forum and realized how expensive things are, so I talked to fiance and increased it to 500K, but if doable naman the 300K, we'll revert to that. Honestly, I don't want to spend a lot for the wedding but the OOT fees of the suppliers I want are killing me! Almost 50K! That's why we haven't booked them yet. Will check out the Tagaytay bridal fair to see some local suppliers before "sealing the deal" so to speak.

^So true sis, it gets more and more expensive every year lalo na the percentage increases are so ridiculous across different suppliers. Sobrang how many times inflation eh! Kaya im honestly happy to be getting married nadin this year hehe. Yung venue ko, even my prenup video, several of my suppliers i cant afford to get anymore if i choose to get married a year later...

My thoughts exactly! I've been checking out suppliers since 2012, way before my fiance proposed. Grabe the inflation rate! I used to think Balai Taal is so expensive, but since they haven't increased their rates since 2010 while almost all others did, parang cheap na ang rates nila.

By the way, ang useful pala magbasa nitong thread na 'to. I totally forgot to include budget for invitations! haha

Regarding the 10K gown, mygosh ha! it's half the price of my intended wedding dress. Personally, I'm not comfortable with having my entou, if we do decide to have entou, pay for anything they need for the wedding. Well, except their transpo to Tagaytay and shoes. I have personal experience of being made to buy for an attire to somebody else's wedding WITHOUT being told beforehand. As in tinanong ka na to be part of the entourage pero without the disclosure na you have to provide for your dress! Nagwonder na nga ako why walang sukatang nangyayari. Then 2 weeks before, saka mo lang malalaman and may SPECIFIC style na kailangan. Although very common naman the style, nakakainis pa din.

almost 4 months to go na kame and we are still well within the limits of our min/max budget. :D
hoping and praying that all goes well at di kame umabot sa ceiling budget of 450k for 150pax.
really grateful at nagkaron ng bagong job opportunity si h2b and that gave him the leeway na magstart ayusin ang titirhan namin. :) he had the rooms repainted and tiling for the bedroom started na.
haayyy.. this is it na talaga! ;D
