been lurking here for quite a while coz im planning to get an insurance.

i was supposed to get sun flexilink with TBD, ADDD and CIB riders but the high charges was a bit of a turnoff especially with CIB which increases every 5 years.

my husband has an insurance with Manulife and their CIB riders doesn't increase the charges at all. and they cover up to 60 illnesses pa while sunlife is only 36. still waiting for a proposal from his agent to compare. but just thought i'd share it here too.

Hi sis, I can provide you with a proposal specific for educational planning with Sun Life. Let me know how I can discuss this with you 😊

If May medical declarations sa personal history or family history it can take between 2 weeks to a month.

Planning to get a MaxiLink Prime for my daughter, since its stated that the premium period of 10yrs is not guaranteed and will require addtl premium after 10 yrs if kulang ang fund to cover the charges gusto ko lang malaman if those addtl premiums will be the same amt or pwede maging lower pa ang babayaran ko?

As long as the fund is not zero or negative, the additional year may only be to cover the balance which may not be the entire premium. In most cases, this can only happen if the payments are not made on time, a withdrawal was made to the fund before the 10th year, or the fund where the money was invested in did not perform well.

Flexilink is a regular pay plan, meaning you pay for life. but you can avail of the premium holiday  naman if you want to pay for let's say 10 or 15 years lang provided na top-ups ka para ma-cover nya yung mga charges for the succeeding years  Mas maliit ang investment part nito compared sa maxilink. Lowest is 250k face amount. Flexilink one and Flexilink assist.

Maxilink naman is a limited-pay VUL. Maxilink one is single pay. Maxilink bright is 5-yr pay. Maxilink prime naman is 10-yr pay. Double ng face amount ang insurance coverage for maxibright and maxiprime. For maxibright, 250k x2 so 500k ang minimum coverage. For maxiprime naman, 350k x2 so 700k ang minimum coverage. Eto yung katumbas ng business class.

For maxilink one naman, more on investment ito. Magagamit for estate planning, pamana sa mga anak/apo, etc. Single pay sya, minimum of 250k premium. Ang coverage nito is only 125% of the premium.

Para mas malinaw, much better if magdiscuss personally with a sunlife advisor para ma-meet yung needs mo kasi nakakalito talaga sa dami ng products. Or kung wala kang kilala, send me a pm. Hahaba na kasi masyado, hirap explain dito.

im having a hard time dealing with our agent from sunlife. officemate kasi siya ng husband ko so sila lang ang naguusap. everytime i have a question, he has to pass it on pa. hassle din for my husband kasi they cant always talk about insurance stuff while at work. its really frustating. first life insurance ko pa naman so todo research ako to make sure i pick the right one. i like pa naman the products of sunlfie. dyahe naman lumipat ng ibang agent kasi we've requested for several proposals and revisions na rin from this agent. just wish i chose a different agent na lang from the start. :(

^Sis it is fine to get a different agent if you are really not comfortable with the setup. Kahit pa may mga proposals na syang binigay. Ganun talaga, it is part of our work. Libre naman ang consultations at proposals. We win some, we lose some. Ang importante happy and satisfied ka sa service ng agent mo kasi long term ang relationship nyo, hanggang claims sya parin ang kausap mo.

^shouldn't be that long.

Yes better to discuss personally.

Talked to my FA already and I now have both Flexilink and Maxilink.  Yey!
