Due to what is happening in our PH market, I just thought to inform GT

Matapang ka ba?

Ang all-time high unit price ng Index Fund ng Sun Life Prosperity Fund ay 1.0109 noong May 5 2015 pa

Kahapon ang unit price niya ay 0.7862

That is a 2,247-pt drop

Kunyari you bought units at 0.7862 per unit

Kung mag reverse ang market at bumalik sa presyong 1.0109, kumita ka ng 28.58% kung ibebenta mo yung binili mo

So, may opportunity ba sa down (or bear) market? :)

Kung long-term ka kamo, tingin mo may impact ito sa future target money goal mo?

ADDENDUM: If you have VULs exposed to equities (Balanced Fund, Equity Fund, Growth Plus Fund, My Future Fund),

your best strategy is PESO COST AVERAGING method

where you deposit the equivalent monthly premium of your policy and you place your deposit monthly

This monthly deposits can be done purely online via online banking bills payment facility of your favorite bank -- walang pila, almost petiks :)

May I check for those sissies na naka pag avail na ng sunlife's 'prepaid insurance'? Yung 25,000 pesos per card, ano advantages or disadvantages nito compared sa regular na insurance?

@xee

Advantages:

It's affordable. Php 400 lang per year yung Php 25,000 na coverage.

Disadvantages:

It's one year lang. So if you want to renew, bili ka ulit ng card and go through the process of mailing the card and availing. Hindi siya auto-renew.

Accidental death lang ang covered for the first 90 days. Meaning if you die ng hindi due to accident for the first 3 months, you don't get anything.

There is no online monitoring. You do not get updates (i.e. reminders that your coverage will be expiring). You do not get a policy document.

It is a GROUP life insurance product. Similar sa mga insurance na kasama sa benefit ng mga employer at schools sa employees at students nila.

Maximum 4 cards lang ang pwede per person so Php 100,000 ang max coverage.

Same terms as term insurance plans  (i.e limitations when it comes to location, profession and pre-existing medical conditions) apply.

This will be my first time getting an insurance/investment in Sun Life and to be honest I feel scared and excited at the same time. Anyway, I am only 23 years old and still aiming for more savings of course.

My questions :

1. Is it good for a student like me to get a Maxilink Bright / Growth Fund?
2. For example i completed the 5 year payment do they accept refunds?
3. Is it okay to refund while my insurance payment is on going?
4. About the growth fund under fund value ( 4%, 8%, 10% ) Is it the money that you deposited including the charges?
5. Is it true that when you get this insurance/investment, it is like you're in the stock market at the same time? or you have to get another plan?

I personally asked my friend/financial advisor that i really want to put my money somewhere safe rather than spending it on other stuff. She suggested me to take this insurance, for it is safer and it is better than putting it in a savings account. I really do want to get an account in col financial for me to enter the stock market but is it really advisable for me to get this plan or is there any better plans in sun life that would definitely fit me. Please do enlighten me. Thank you!

1.) Well, typically you'll need insurance if there
are people financially dependent on your income.

Although some say that it is worth getting insurance
regardless just so you have one when you're still insurable

You decide if it's worth the money.

2.) By refunds I think you mean take out money from the policy?
You can certainly do that.

3.) You technically can withdraw money out while you're still
paying but remember there's a limit to how many withdrawals
you can make a year before you start paying for charges.

Withdrawing should only be done during emergency situations.

4.) Yes, if you review the proposal you'll see a note stating
that the figures includes everything you've paid less charges
plus loyalty bonuses if any.

5.) If you plan to allocate the premium to the Growth Fund then
yes you are correct.

If you allocate it to the Bond Fund then you are participating
in the bond market.

If you allocate it to the Balanced Fund then you have both stocks
and bonds in the fund.

6.) If all you want is investment then there's definitely another
Sunlife product that's a better fit. Ask yout friend for mutual
funds.

7.) Also, if you open a COL account, they have a Fund Supermarket
of sorts where you can invest in various mutual funds online without
paying any sales charges.

8.) And you mentioned safe, I hope your friend explained to you
that it is possible for you to lose money on this?

Hi I'm already 35 but a newbie when it comes to insurance. I know it's late but lately lang talaga ako nagka interest. Medyo overwhelming pala, daming terms and ang dami palang choices. My original plan was to just get Sun LifeAssure and Prosperity card but now parang interesting for me yung Flexlink Assist. In case I will get one mga how much kaya yung annual nito? Also pag sa Sun Life ba pwede quarterly/semi-annual payment? For the first payment required ba na for one year agad? Hope may mag answer please.

^Liana, i will answer some of your questions, pero not all kasi di naman ako agent.

In case I will get one mga how much kaya yung annual nito? Also pag sa Sun Life ba pwede quarterly/semi-annual payment? For the first payment required ba na for one year agad? Hope may mag answer please.

1. how much ang annual fee ng Sunlife Flexilink Assist? no idea. amount of premium ay case-to-case basis. per person ang assessment depending on different factors like age, health, risk factors of your work/lifestyle, etc. generally the younger and healthier you are, the lower the amount of premium.

2. pwede quarterly/semi-annual payment? Yes.

3.  For the first payment required ba na for one year agad? Nope. not required. For my own plan, Sunlife Maxilink Prime, my initial payment was for only 1 quarter. and quarterly rin ang basis ng premium payments ko.

Sis, may idea ka magkano premiums ng Sun Smarter Life? I've been checking online kaso wala akong makitang sample quotations.
Like for 1M coverage, 30 y.o., female, non-smoker. Ano ang premium?

TIA :)

Question mga sis, if kukuha ako ng sunlife VUL, quarterly payment at nag-miss ako ng hulog ng 1 quarter, ano ang mangyayari sa insurance ko? Pwede ko ba yun habulin at hulugan the next quarter?

TIA  :)

Sounds like you have a VUL
Transfer Charges: Premium Charges
Admin Charges: Periodic Charges + COI(Cost of Insurance) Charges

Premium Charges are paid whenever you pay the premium. It is deducted straight from the premium.
Periodic Charges are paid whenever you pay the premium. It is deducted from your units/funds
COI are paid every month. It is deducted from your units/funds.

Please do check the proposal and contract. The allocation of the charges should
have been stated in the proposal you signed.

Hope that helps.

Me. There is a foreign residence guideline as well as an occupational guideline which acts as our reference to know what types of insurance and riders are allowed for the client.
